Future reference for everyone coming to this video if you have air fuel and fire it is going to be an ignition problem Don't waste your time going through your carburetor or your coil go straight to the stator and I guarantee you will find your issue along the way of removing it. 99.99% of the time timing is always the issue in these cases. I can confirm that I had the same issue, I replaced the woodruff key and it started right away, and also it started sounding like the engine was new, no popping, no backfire, more power, thank you very much sir

Thank you very much! I opened up the stator cover and removed the flywheel and my woodruff key was completely flat, managed to get it out and now I'm waiting for the new part to arrive, hopefully it will start now

But Mann I could not figure out why my girlfriend bike had great compression, big fat blue spark and I had done everything to try to resolve why I was getting no start! And then I found this video and it all made sense, so I removed the magneto to find a perfectly sheared woodruff key! Replace it and after the first kick it start up really strong💯 again thank you brother for this tip! I once told my gf not to lose tiny parts like that because even though it may seem like missing a few tiny parts would be fine, noo! Never knew such small component can cause such a big problem!

I have the exact same problem on my 125cc Lifan engine but haven't looked at the fly wheel yet. Thanks for posting this video because I am as stumped as you were. I feel for you. This bike that I put a 125cc on is my only means of transportation right now. The bike has been sitting for almost three months now and I need to get it fixed. I'm 65 and pedaling a bicycle uphill doesn't work.

Thank you! My side by side hasn’t started in 3 months… I have spark, fresh fuel and compression. For almost 2 years it has started just randomly and then for a month or two not started. I cleaned the carb (it was spotless anyway), changed the ignition coil, ignition wiring, cdi. I have tested and re-tested the coil, stator, crank position sensor, starter solenoid and the regulator rectifier. They all tested good with the multimeter. During all this time when it did run I would hear something still ‘spinning’ for a few seconds after I turned it off. My next step was to visibly check the stator. I just found your video today explaining exactly what may be wrong with mine. Thank you!

Just gone through the same process. I had it down as a timing problem and just thought, dead CDI, totally forgot about the woodruff key. So I'll pick a new keep up tomorrow for a few cents and I have a new CDI and ignition on its way from China that I don't need now lol

Did you simply change the woodruff key and one-way clutch and then put it all together again? Anything to have in mind when putting it all together?

I have a question, i have a eton 90cc. It has new wire harnesses, new carb, new stator, new starter, has compression but it won't start? It has spark, gas does go into the motor but still doesn't start... any guesses?

iv just replaces my 1 way clutch , its has spark and fuel do u suggest taking fly wheel back off ? how do i know if the woodruff key is damage or if its another problem 🤷🏻‍♂️

was this engine a zongshen one? i am having problems with mine 2. i also have spark,and i even got it so far as to idle for a minute,real crappy tho but it ran,l. but it wil not keep on running nd as soon as i gave it a litle throtle it stalled. i put new gas in there,and cleaned the carb en everyrhing,there is a new spark plug in there so that should be fine 2. i am just not so convinced on the spark part,because it is realy poorly visible so maybe not a strong spark? my quad is a zhenhua 250.
