HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

We are all a product of our environment - humans are a very adaptable species. Spend time anywhere in the world long enough and you will pick up the accent, embrace the culture, and mannerisms. It is actually a trait for survival - both adapt and blend into your environment (putting aside difference in physical appearance).

Since the area is Kolkata, Bengali(Language) influence is there in the English. Actually there is no proper Indian accent as different states have different languages. So mother tongue influences the way we speak English. So there is different North Indian, South Indian , North East Indian English accents.

If you go to a food-stall in any street...you're VERY LIKELY to find a "Chinese" section in the menu. Which essentially is "Desi-Chinese"(i.e localized Indian Chinese #lol). It's delicious. Calcutta, of-course, has an "authentic" Chinese version because of the presence of Chinese Indian. It is these Chinese-Indians who introduced the rest of us to the amazing cuisine.

2'18 The man said that the people there were all Hakka and Cantoness, which suprised me bc it's rare to metion “Hakka”, a unique chinese patriarchal clan. Hakka(客家) literally means being a vistor/guest to a strange place and then settling and living in this place. Hakka people is people in southeastern china who migrated from the north in the 12th century. I am a Hakka in Meizhou, china. Just happy to be mentioned.
