I live in Williamsburg but have not been to this park. Have been to James River on the parkway in Williamsburg. Will be visiting this park in April, 2021. Thanks 💘

I cannot pretend not to know what a plantation was/is. Interesting enough the word was removed from the name of the current Chippoke State Park. It's located off RT 10 in Surry, Virginia.

3 1/2 years ago when this video was made the name of the state park was Chippokes Plantation State Park. That name appeared on the sign out front, in the visitors center, all the pamphlets, maps, and online on their website. If you Google Chippokes Plantation State Park you will see all the articles and photos with that name. I can't change history of this video and what Virginia State Parks named this park. I can only change the name of the title. But once a video is posted you can not make edits. I say where this park is located in the first 10 second of the video that its in Surry County Virginia.

My youtube channel is about hiking all over VA, MD & WVA. So I mainly go to check out the hiking trails & water activities to vlog about those aspects of our VA state parks. I did walk around the exterior of the mansion but only showed it from a distance. If time permits do sometimes explore other aspects of the parks, history etc. Thanks for checking out my video & enjoy your time camping there.
