We considered pausing homeschooling while I was in nursing school but the beauty of it is you can dial back and make it fit your current life situation so we took a laid back approach for two years and we are back to our normal curriculum now. You are an awesome mom!

Just found your channel. Praying for you sweet mama. I can completely understand health issues as a homeshooling mama and wife. I have a non contagious lung disease I was born with. Then had to have a double lung transplant 4 years ago. I have monthly appts, medications etc etc. Take those days when your body needs it. Praying for complete healing. You smile is so contagious. 😊😊. ❤

Praying for you this year! You may already know this, but you can absolutely take sick days too! For instance, here in NC we must also have 180 school days, same as public school. But we're allowed 18 absences for sickness, etc, just like public school. So required "seat days" where you're doing school are 162. We had several bouts of illness last year, and recording those sick days really helped me not stress about meeting those 180 days of full on school. We still did some work, but very minimal while in survival mode. I hope you have a wonderful school year! ❤

This sounds just like how I'm doing our schedule this year. Starting August 5th, but we're going to TRY 6 weeks on and so. Also found out about some health issues this year and usually we follow the public school's schedule. Hopefully things aren't too hard for you this year

I use both paper and homeschool planet haha. I like the paper at my desk to keep me on point when my computer isn't right there. Homeschool planet keeps my daily schedule and grades so I don't think I'll ever let that go since the math of grades just isn't for me haha.
I’ve been really intimidated by my homeschool planner. I started off taking notes on my phone or iPad of everything we did each day. Now I just date our workbooks and worksheets. I haven’t gotten all the way through the video yet but I’m having some of the same thoughts. I had a really tough time trying to teach while going through morning sickness and now I’m worried if I would be able to do 1st grade and kindergarten with a newborn in a few months.
We are so step for step with our 4 year Olds! My girl is reading and spelling cvc words well, knows the 2 vowel rule, though we have to talk through each word, and some special sounds like ck, sh and ch. Do you think All About Reading level 1 will be too redundant? It's so expensive and I don't want busy work, but I also need hand holding about what to do next and don't want more workbook pages. We started Explode the Code 1 and it's building fluency and is helpful, but isn't presenting new skills.
