What I love about this scene is that Dick Van Dyke is a second behind everyone else as someone who had just been thrust into that situation would. Very good acting.
@@XpLiZiTcOnTeNt7 I don't. You already know the routine, so just erase that from your mind and only dance after watching the other dancers as if to figure out what to do next. Spend longer in the position then what you're supposed to until you notice the other dancers have changed then feign panic and hurried/clumsily change.

I always crack up about how terrible the customer looked with the hair cutting machine. Mr Potts should have tried the machine on his son Jeremy before taking it to the fair. if he had tried on his son he would have known there was something very wrong with that machine.
This song has lived in my head rent free since I was probably 5-6 years old when I first saw this movie! It’s so fun and all of these men are so talented!
I'm so happy I grew up watching this movie with my parents. Not a lot of people these days have seen it especially kids my age. I'm 15 and have been watching this movie since I was I don't even know how old.
Yeah we've all heard the family guy version. Tbh I love family guy and so when they parodied a song from my favourite childhood musical I couldn't help but enjoy it...but still nothing beats the original.

It is a available on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, RU-vid, and Google Play Movies &TV. I grew up watching this movie on VHS (our player no longer works) and wish that I can find it on DVD somewhere.
@@madeleinebrandenburg401 Meant to say, where to find the soundtrack to stream. Introduced this to my son, who is two during the lockdown (blu-ray). Spotify only has a recording from a Broadway production. It is no Dick Van Dyke.
I grew up with this movie. This song and dance number is a classic. It’s really sad that family guy is what put it on them map for the younger generation. You always get those really immature a-holes that sing over this song with the family guy lyrics because they think they’re being funny. It’s like kids who sing “jingle bells, Batman smells”. It becomes obnoxious. Can we please just appreciate the original for its own merits?
