For this recipe, we take two layers of Chocolate Genoise and first soak them with an orange flavored sugar syrup. Next, the two Genoise layers are sandwiched together with a thin layer of raspberry jam and a rich and creamy Chocolate Mousse. I like to finish this cake with a shiny Chocolate Ganache and pretty swirls of the Chocolate Mousse.

@@jeanburgess2342 You can make your own. Use 2 cups of all purpose flour. Replace 2 TBSP of flour with corn flour. Mix and voila you have your own cake flour.

I have never made a layered cake and i made this cake, i kinda cheated and used devils food box mix , i live in a very small town and I couldn’t find cake flour but, i made everything as you described and it turned out amazing, it was moist and really good, thank you for giving very clear directions and very professional no extra stories that has nothing to do with what you’re baking. I don’t understand why there are dislikes but your recipes are amazing.. thank you.

I made this for a friend’s birthday this week. It truly was a labor of love! But the nine people who ate it LOVED it! I sent a photo to my family and all asked for the recipe before a single bite was taken! My husband trained as a chef; although he’s not; in Northern Europe. His palate is amazing and he gave it a solid 10. Not an easy score to get from him as he’s the only non-culinary member of his Northern European family. So impressive, decadent, delightful, and delicious!

Again flawless recipe.. The cake is really a simple spunge cake you can use for a LOT of things. Coffee flavored soaking syrup worked really well with the chocolate cake.

Ms Stephanie I modelled my bday cake on this this year ☺️❤️ I turned your golden chiffon cake into chocolate chiffon (coz it yields more cake than your classic chocolate chiffon, and I'm not into genoise) ☺️, and with strawberry jam and dark chocolates, I made a fantastic cake!
