In today's America - No Career, No Livelihood, Debts, Bankruptcy and Regrets. Being childfree is not even a choice anymore but a necessary step towards your own survival.

Absolute FACTS!!! That's why I decided not to have children or get married!!! I enjoy my solitude and freedom way too much to be bothered with that stuff!!! Hard pass on having children and getting married, I'm good with being single and no kids and living my life for myself only and living it in peace!!!

Also let’s normalize not wanting a career or wanting to climb up the corporate ladder A lot of people assume that all childfree people are career driven and obsessed which is a ridiculous generalization, we don’t have to compensate for being in childfree in anyway by doing something spectacular or extravagant with our lives, it’s perfectly ok to live a simple low key contented life as a childfree person

I’m not a career person at all! And If I had kids I’d feel like I need to work 100 times harder to support my kid and myself (unless I married someone wealthy). No thanks! I’ll work just enough to give myself and my cats a good life. It’s hard enough just supporting myself

Exactly!!!! I have a career only because i need one to survive comfortably. Im anti-work but understand that I have to do it. I've been in the same position for 13 years and have no plans of advancing unless something terrible happens and i need a dramatic increase in my salary. Since i don't have kids i don't see that ever happening.

This is a great point! Just like not children aren’t for everyone, neither is career building; an important sentiment to remember! Thank you for mentioning this, as it’s a great reminder that we are valid regardless no matter what we choose (within reason of course).

I've seen the consequences of being a stay-at-home mom stay-at-home housewife instead of having a career you become like an overgrown child dependent on Daddy husband dealing with loud annoying messy kids prematurely aging

Being childfree allowed me to live in 6 different countries in my 20s, work for top global companies and become a manager before the age of 30 💪Now I'm also working on my creative side and I'm getting involved in theatre & short film productions. I keep hearing my whole life that being career-oriented is a bad thing and that I must be empty/emotionless/selfish/too masculine,... (and the list goes on). While on the contrary, I've never felt so content with my life. It's also interesting that when I mentioned that I was considering getting a dog (a little shiba inu, aren't they cute?) and people around me were like "but do you know it's a huge responsibility? You won't be able to continue traveling as you're used to, you'll have to get up early, have a schedule around the dog" etc. But when I mention that I don't want kids, people lose their mind. 🤯 While I'm always being supportive of other people's choices, there is still so much work that needs to be done in order to support those who choose to remain child-free. And if someone prefers focusing on their career, so what? My life & body = my rules ✌

Bringing children into this world not only increases burden and responsibilities on parents but also it add burden and responsibilities on that child to participate in pointless rat race.

I’m not a career person, and If I had kids I’d go crazy balancing work, living expenses and raising a child. I just can’t do it. I’d rather work less and not have the stress that I have to work more to pay for children and maybe be stuck in some crappy job for the benefits

Same here. I only work to make a living, not to have a career (it brings some satisfaction tough). And after working hours I need to vent during some time without any responsibilities and chores, it's a minimum to stay alive.

Personally I never wanted a career or children, but I need a career to live the type of life that I desire. I have no need for children at all.
@antonyshadowbanned
@antonyshadowbanned 9 месяцев назад
Do you think desire is the best decision making tool? Kids need us, not the other way around : ) You have the luxury to not help someone who needs you. They don't even exist! why consider them, right? That is socially acceptable, but be aware that the framing I suggest may make more sense than a 'desire of lifestlyle' viewpoint of life.
@trevagraham1605
@trevagraham1605 9 месяцев назад
@@antonyshadowbanned If I desired to help children then I would adopt. There's absoultely zero reason to reproduce, but so many reasons as to why a person would pursue a career. Try having absolutely no source of income and see how long you can survive comfortably.

You can help children by donating to child aid programs. You don't need to be a parent to do something good for children!

I am not a career worker but rather a dead end job worker as a labourer in a factory which I am not happy about. Sadly and unfortunately, I am not smart enough to for a college or university education to get a career. What I do is hard physical labour, I come home exhausted and I don't wanna have to take care of a child. I have enough responsibilities and don't want additonal responsibilities. Being single/unmarried and childfree is the best decision I have ever made because I struggle with depression and anxiety disorder.

I'm glad that I chose not to have children or get married because I prefer to be alone and live my life for myself and have peace of mind, enjoying my freedom and peace and quiet!!! And I've been retired since 2020, and I'm enjoying my retirement income and traveling anytime that I want, and if I had children I wouldn't have been able to do any of the things I've done; and I'd still be working to take care of children until my 70's or 80's!!! NO THANK YOU TO CHILDREN!!! And if anybody has a problem with my PERSONAL choices and opinions, I sincerely don't give a fuck!!!

This is another reason why being childfree is for the best growing up my mother had to work so me and my brother were left on are own at times my father was in and out of the picture parents need to be present in their childs life and sadly some don't

Career over Children 100% Kids grow up and live their own lives and if you dedicate your life to that only and have no income of your own it will bite you in the ass once you become a empty nester and alot of marriages end once the kids leave. You need that safety net just incase bc marriage/kids arent always a guarantee.

Exactly this! 👏 Our world as we know it requires two incomes even without children in the picture! Additionally, it secures freedom above all else because you are free from dependency!

Hi! Being nomo/childfree to me gave me the opportunity to start from scratch a career path. I could try different types of work until I found one I liked, and not to worry about anyone else's schedules. My partner and I are both pursuing artistic careers (writer and musician) and, even when we had to work at the same time, we didn't have to give up on it. It is taking time because we are not rich but not because we had to "man up, compromise and increase the family". I feel happy about our life choice and really don't understand why it can't be as valid as anyone else's (have my theories about it but I'll leave them for my blog😊). Thanks for the space! Greetings from Spain!🙋‍♀

Everyone should prioritize what is important and stick to some priorities. For some, having kids is a priority for others not and it is very frustrating how many ppl can understand that we are not all the same. Childfree folks understand that, conservatives not and cannot accept now everyone want and even should be a parent.

I hate capitalism. I participate because money is the only way to get me what I want. I like to work Hard and Performance as a Perfektionist, but I hate the knowledge that my work makes wealth hoarders more rich and these selfish xxxxx don't use their weslth and power to make this world a better place. I hope hiumanity finds a better system besonders capitalism soon!
