#thevillages #thevillagesflorida #newhome Thanks for joining us as we discuss our Like to Haves for our upcoming home purchase in The Villages Florida. Please share with us in the comments what your Like to Haves are for your new home.
You know something funny, my biggest pet peeve on the new homes, is the one height kitchen island with the sink in it!!😂 to me, I prefer the sink overlooking a window, but if it has to be overlooking the family room, I want the bar height hiding the sink. I don't want my dish drainer and pile of dishes drying to be the focal point of the living area. I also prefer a hip roof because they're a better wind break.
There are a lot of people who have your preference. You are right, the new, lower bars put everything on display. I have heard that hip roofs are better in the wind, but I really like a roofline with features like our Boston Hip Roof has. But one thing is certain, there are plenty of options in TV. Thanks for your comment and have a great weekend.
Thanks for your comment and you are more than welcome. There is a lot to learn but if you plan on or are considering moving here the time spent learning is well worth it. Sounds like you are setting yourselves up well.
We recently bought a home in Newell in the Villages, and like you, we had our “must haves”, but we also had our list of features that differentiated the model we bought (the Loblolly) from others we looked at, including: ☝🏻That you can’t look into bedroom from main room ☝🏻the Island faces the dining room (not the living room) ☝🏻front bedrooms can be closed off (by a pocket door in the wall) ☝🏻High ceilings … to name a few Great video 👍🏻 Keep up the good work
Thanks so much for watching and your encouraging comments. Congratulations on your new home in Newell! We really like the walking trails in that area. Great list for selecting your new home; we can tell that you put a great deal of thought into your decision.
Thanks for your comment and sharing part of your process. That is good to hear and thankfully there seems to be more homes coming on the market. Let us know how your search goes.
April sounds better with the mic facing her mouth, better than in the 2 previous videos. May I suggest ALWAYS facing the mic to your mouths? Just sounds better. And always remember to use the furry thing when outside! Good choice going with the Rode wireless go 2 mics, my favorite inexpensive mic setup for RU-vidrs, I recommend them all the time!
Thanks so much for your feedback and excellent recommendations. We are new to this and we promise to keep trying to get better. We have been really happy with the Rode Wireless mics, now if we could only use them better. Thanks again for watching!
Thanks for your comment. The front door are typically the same color as the gable ends of the houses. We have not seen an alternate accent color for front doors alone, but if you purchase a lot and design your home then you can choose what color you want from their pallet. After purchase all changes to color have to be requested through the Architectural Review Committee. Our paint scheme has one color for the exterior walls and garage doors, another color for the trim around windows garages, etc, and a third color for the gable and Boston hip roof and exterior doors. Again, this is The Villages standard format. Hope this helps.
Hi and thanks for your question. We plan for it to be less than $500K. We like the look of white cabinets but curious why you wouldn't have them again. Thanks,
@@thevillagesnatives3491 omg every single thing gets on them. U will have to wipe them down particularly upper or much higher ones every single day. They are more prone over time getting yellow and more prone to stains. Plus they will look more washed out depending on what u pair them to.
@@frankkeel8410 Good question, as far as the new precast homes I got this info. Ceilings are R-38 blown in insulation, exterior walls are R-5 rigid board and the wall between the garage and living area is R-11 batt. Hope this helps.
