I miss jack. I often come and rewatch all the videos. A cooks cook. no pretentious crap.. just a real man, cooking with love and making it look easy. the world needs more men like this guy
Same here. I often plug in a video or more looking to get inspired on what I can cook for my family. I so miss not having new episodes to watch but I am grateful his daughters allowed his videos to remain on RU-vid
It has been a while since I've watch any of his videos, but man do I love them. Really felt the loss of him, but he lived a great life it seemed. Definitely inspired a lot of people.
RU-vid recommended me one of Jack's videos a couple years ago and now any time I need to find something comforting to watch while I eat or whatever, i come to this channel and just pick one at random. It's a nice corner online to just decompress and appreciate the good things in life.
me and my wife made this tonight, exactly this way. absolutely delicious! to jacks family and friends we are sorry for your loss. we love the way jack cooks its different than most cooks you will see. its like watching your grandmother cook your favorite meal she made for you. no measuring, just love and know how. thank you jack!
Unfortunately Jack passed away not long ago. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you seemed unaware and you’re obviously fans. There’s a video on this channel by his daughters updating people. His videos live on however.
This is the kind of cooking I love to see. No pretty Food Network bullshit , just straight gas fire, a pan and a big guy who knows how to bring it all together.
@@smellypatel5272 Not always. But for American-style “comfort” food, which is what he cooked mostly, it works. Now if he was making chicken vindaloo or tikka masala, that’s another story.
Daddy Jack, we miss you greatly! But the Lord has one hell of a good cook and great company with him right now! Smile on us and watch over us! Bless you.
me too. now that im retired , always thought it would have been a nice trip to meet him. just shows you, time doesnt wait for anybody. hope his wonderful family is doing well
As long as the spoon being used is cold, it lowers the temperature of the sauce etc. rather quick but you have to dip the spoon in quickly or it will soon heat up.
Cooking with the Blues I don’t know him. But a lot of chefs worked with Lufthansa. It always was good money.😉 Here is our place. Maybe you’re curious what the germans are doing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kmOdpXbIzyc.html But it’s in german.
I've been following Jack for many years. Finding this out was really sad. He died on my birthday also. There's nothing else to say except for, he was a great teacher. To Jack's family, I am very sorry for your loss. I have no other words.
Daddy Jack Chapin was a national treasure. None of this fancy shamancy stuff you see on food channels, stuff you never even heard of let alone having seen it. Daddy Jack used what was available in most homes. That's what made him impossible to replace.
Chopped beef, potatoes and some kind of gravy. Probably the very first "solid" food I had 63 years ago! And still making it today, just like my mother used to do it. This dish is the very definition of what "comfort food" means!
It's crazy that visceral feeling when someone you never actually knew but you admired and venerated passes away. I felt gut shot when I heard the news. I too return to these videos alot. I actually had a little back and forth with Jack online. He was a jem of a human being. Just think of how much better place this world would be if it were full of people like Jack...
Jack , my Mom would make a whole cast iron pan of those and she used Campbells Mushroom soup as the base and we would have it over white rice , still one of my favorite meals today .
Love this guy best chef on the net, R.I.P The man cooks soul food, cooked a few of his recipes and dang, Daddy Jack you the man!!! Much love and respect respect his Family all the way from NewZealand!!!! Will continue to cook and enjoy his recipes!!!!! Feels strange knowing he won't be dropping a video again !!! 😕
I have watched MANY Daddy Jack videos and have cooked several of his recipes. This in my mind is possibly the GREATEST video posted by this great man. I really look forward to making this. Daddy Jack, you the man!
What Ive learned just by watching these videos has elevated my cooking level. I made the mushroom chicken that came out decent. Its kind of embarrassing to admit that I didnt know you could cook with milk and flour.
I love your channel straight to the point and relaxed style of cooking, super humble and amazing food always gets my mouth watering I am usually cooking as I watch to keep it coming nothing better than cooking with the blues... Love from Australia :)
FINALLY hearing some blues in the back ground... always wondered about the "cooking with the blues", but never heard any until this video. love your vids, and have learned a lot, thanks!
Damn. Now I am starving. I tried to get my wife to load up our four grandchildren in our motor home and make a road trip. By the time she agreed Jack was gone. I try to celebrate his life by making one of his recipes every week. I just watched Saturday's lunch being made.
Dear Chef. I have been following your beautiful, mouth-watering videos for a couple of years now. I noticed that your DOP has made significant and useful changes in its filming techniques. Bravo mon ami. Everything looks phenomenal.
Just made this. Excellent, I used beef stock as I had some. Been making this sort of dish for 45 years, started with mushroom soup gravy, and slowly changed it over the years so it was better. This is the best, this is now my recipe. Thanks Jack.
Now i'm so hungry from watching this amazing Chef cook those Hamburger Steaks. I live in Wilmington NC and i'm driving up there just to eat he's food and meet this great chef .
Ran across your videos and I was surprised to hear you were in New London. So last night I went to Daddy Jack's. I had the chicken fried rib eye it was excellent! My date had the stuffed flounder and loved it. Were looking forward to going back. I can't wait! The food was excellent!
I've been watching your old channel for a few months and thought you quit making videos. Someone commented "RIP Daddy Jack" and the replies to their comment had a link to your new channel! There are probably others watching the old channel who just don't know.
Same here me and the kids love watching your videos. Sorry to hear to lost access to your old channel Jack. Edit- This popped up in my feed though I do believe.

You know you are an awesome Chef when people are willing to travel cross country to try some of your delicious meals...see you this summer Daddy Jacks...aka the King of cooking....ps I want Chicken fried steak and Garlic bread....made from that Ribeye...thx Todd
Hahaha I'm on my lunch break and literally eating this exact same thing. But I had no idea it was the same when I pushed play😂😂😂. I always watch Jack when I eat. Somehow it just makes my meal so much better. We miss ya chef Jack 🤘🤘🙏🙏❤️❤️💪💪
El maestro Big Daddy Jack! Hey Big Daddy Jack we're coming to see you this summer spending a few weeks in your area bringing my family down so they could meet the world famous Big Daddy Jack himself.
Cooking with the Blues Chef, ya raised a good point that I wanted to ask: with all you cook, you mentioned this is one of your favorite meals. But if you had to have one last meal, an absolute favorite, what would it be?? Since all you make is spot on perfect with me, I can’t begin to guess. One meal chef, what would it be???
Cooking with the Blues haha, where you going, to a state dinner at Buckingham Palace! Kidding, sounds all too damn good to me. Mangia amigo, mangia!!! (Phew I feel stuffed)
Watched this a couple times writing down the ingredients, and the order to add them. My only exceptions were beef stock instead of chicken, yellow onion instead of purple and no wine. Oh yeah, and I listened to Pink Floyd instead of the blues and it was so dadgum good I decided to name it Gastronomy Domine. 100,000 yums up, Jack!
Hey Jack this is John from Florida that's right cart builder 61. I called you not too long ago. I like the new intro! You keep cooking and I'll keep watching!
It's a rarity, that's for sure. It's like Vulcan's Forge. It's always at high heat. Big flames, big food, and a big hearted man at the helm. But for a brief moment today the fire was turned down "a little bit". I guess with a small kitchen like his you need and learn how to cook fast AND good, so the high heat all the time (until today) is a part of the 'fast'. There are probably a lot of times when all the orders are different and he has to prepare them one by one, so it would lead to "quick and good". I dunno, I'm not a pro cook in a restaurant, but that's my guess. Man I even love the sound of that skillet being "scraped and rattled" across the burner when he's mixing and tossing along with the spatula and other the 'weapons' (he once called a food tasting fork a weapon). It's like being right in the kitchen with him, actually as close as he is to the goodies he prepares.
