If you are in Chris Botti appreciation mode - you've got to look into Bruford, Levin Upper Extremities (BLUE) featuring Botti. Very cool release.

Both the studio and the live album have been remastered and are currently widely available. The band also features David Torn on guitar. The live album is what I listen to when I’m in a jazz mood.

The song Emmanuel played by Chris and Lucia Micarelli · was written by Michel Colombier in memory of his young son (Emmanuel) who died in infancy

Hi Jim and Rudi, Bloody hot her e; almost 30°C and increasing. Tonight we’ll get heavy thunderstorms; code orange is announced. You can de-attach the audio from the video in a video editor and then make all fit independently. Big band orchestra. Glenn Miller is back. Not really my usual type of music but, for once and awhile, it’s very nice to listen to; very relaxing. I sometimes listen to Louis Armstrong with his band or Glenn Miller. And not to forget our own André Rieux; he always pranks the audience a bit so you have to see it live. The singer video is not for me. I like the last one; Indian summer, and I recognize this song too.

Hi Will, thank you for your comment. I'm wondering where you've heard Indian summer - Chris Botti's studio version is quite a bit different

@@rudolfbecker4313 hi Rudi, At least I think I recognize it. My brain says I heard it before and I trust my brain on memories; you know why.

Thank you for listening, watching and honestly commenting. I hadn't expected you to like all songs - and I was right. I hope some others like Josh Groban 😆 The big fun of my requests and mixtapes is jumping back and forth from one music genre to the next - just like a rubber ball 🤣 We had the live music of the 70s, then some heavy, heavy metal with Nevermore followed by my coversongs mixtape followed by Chris Botti. And I hope Jim doesn't mind if I give a short preview: next mixtape is all Finnland, followed by a request from Germany and planned thereafter something from USA 🤘 I'm hoping for some interesting comments and I wonder, if everybody's favourite will be Indian Summer, the last one. It's the one which made me buy the DVD and I never regret it. Lots of different styles and artists ... surely not for everyday, but if I want to hear a beautiful piece of music, I immediately think of Emanuelle.

Hi Rudi. Um...thanks for this selection but no thanks! Josh Groban is undeniably a great singer but the material stinks. Don Cherry is another great trumpeter who has crossed from the jazz world into rock and even prog at times - Steve Hillage's 'L' for instance.

As always Rudi, thank you. I can’t universally like everything with the sane passion, and this proves that. It’s “nice” music but doesn’t really stir the soul. Always great to bar more stuff and glad I’ve heard it, but not really my thing. But the wonderful thing about music, there’s always going to be more up haven’t heard than music that you have. You always be discovering more stuff! Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@kenl2091 Hi Ken, next lesson in english please : what means "the material stinks" ? never heard it in connection with music, only people, food, trash 😁

Um....yeah....loungey/jazzy/swingey. Not for me either. I don't dislike trumpets in quite the same way that I dislike saxophones but possibly because I've mostly heard the likes of Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis who knew how to extend what it can do. Even Chet Baker in his quieter moments has a certain something. I've just finished watching some Jake Thackray and, if you really want to extend the musical range of this channel, that would be a good place to go.
