It's amazing how Chris Broussard can go on any show, whether it's the herd, speak for yourself, first things first or the one with skip bayless and utterly dominate all of them with his analysis. He really is the best of all of them!
Pre Law true, all of them have their biases. Colin and Nick Wright with their James love, Whitlock is just dumb and I think skip bayless is on another level. I think he just loves trolling everyone 😂
He's already a beast but he'd be doing the same thing at Spurs. Until he learns how to shoot he won't be elite. And honestly he has a nice motion. I don't understand why he doesn't spend the entire off-season learning to shoot. He'd be a $200 million man.
cavaleer his job is to get offensive boards. How is he going to do that if he is out in the 3 point line. He can be a 3rd best player on a championship team.
He's not better than PG but he's more valuable to the team. He'll never be a 1st option scorer but he does the things necessary on both ends, especially defensively to win games. Massively underrated.
Man you say that like I said he was mud. I've watched every game every year since Adams was drafted. I rate PG, I think he's really good, but to 'OKC specifically' Adams is more important, he's literally their defensive anchor and does sooooo much other stuff that doesn't fill the stat sheets. You gotta realize PG is also getting way more help not just with Adams but Roberson too, OKC switch a lot defensively and it lessens the load on everyone.
wAveURonKiLLcAm Don't ever compare Draymond's role on the Warriors to Steven Adams. Draymond rebounds, passes, scores, defends 1-5 positions on the court, brings intensity and vocal leadership. Adams is a good pick and roll big man, that defends the rim fairly well. Nothing more.
Yeezus Shuttlesworth read it again. He compared ROLES. GS has 3 MVPs so Draymond is able to focus on all his roles, Adams doesn't have his skill set but he is asked to do a lot. Run the pick and roll, protect the rim, be a 2/3rd option scorer. He is playing an army knife role like dray but clearly not as good
Yeezus Shuttlesworth then you must not watch all OKCS games. Adams calls a lot of the offence telling people where they should be on the floor. It takes 3 guys to box him out in the paint and he shakes them like their nothing. Has been out scoring his superstar team mates and has great vision gets a few assists. Is 3rd in NBA for shooting percentage and first for offensive rebounds. Not to mention how much OKCS defense struggles when he's off the floor. All of this and he still doesn't have to kick people in the nuts when he has a tantrum like Draymond 😂😂😂
PG is deffinately more talented than Adams. However anyone who has watched OKC this year can clearly see Adams is far more Valuable than PG is. Adams is the best offensive rebounder in the league (Meaning he is basically the best rebounder in the league. Anyone can get deffensive rebounds, and russ steals most of his anyway). He is also the best screener, and arguably best hustle player. Adams often scores 15-20 points in a half. But he never replicates that in the seconds half because the brick 3 decide to iso instead of pass.
Without a doubt. Steven Adams is playing better than anyone else on our roster. With that being said he’s the 3rd best player. 1. Russ 2. Pg 3. Adams. Melo is garbage. Dude can’t do anything right. We’d be a better team without him on our roster even if we didn’t add anybody. But Adams is a beast. I wouldn’t trade him for any center in the league besides embiid. I have reasons for every other center why wouldn’t want them over Adams. Edit: anyone who says Adams can’t get his own shot doesn’t watch him. Plain and simple
Aleki Kelly sometimes russ can be wreckless. He takes some stupid shots, like when he pulls up towards the end of games instead of getting to the hole and drawing a foul or scoring. But night in and night out he takes hard fouls slaps to the face and most of the time he doesn’t get the call and I bet that gets old so I kinda understand it. Melo on the other hand cant make an open shot. He refuses to drive to the basket. Only 10% of his shots this season have come from inside the paint. That percentage is ridiculous. He doesn’t play defense and he misses every jump shot he takes. Russ has his flaws, as a die hard thunder and Westbrook fan I can admit that. But at the same time dude is a freak and everything he does, he does to win. He gives 1000% more effort than anyone else in the nba, role players are the “hustle guys” in modern day nba, Russ is the only superstar that gives full effort on almost every single play just trying to win the game. And sometimes it makes him to a bit out of control. But Russ is far from the okc thunder issue
Steven Adams actually leads the league in offensive rebounds per game, he is not a 8-9 rebounds per game guy, if he doesn't have to let Russ get all the defensive rebounds available to Russ, he can easily average 12-14 rebounds per game. Think about this, he is averaging 4.9 offensive rebounds and 3.8 defensive rebounds, aren't these numbers insane? Russ has taken all the credits for easy, uncontested D rebounds, Chris Broussard is just blind about this.
Not all of Russ' rebounds are uncontested tho. I do agree he pads his stats, but I also think he really does care about winning. My only thing with Steven Adams is there are way more rebounds available then the ones he and Russ get. He should be averaging 9 rebounds at least still, and I love Adams.
6 off. Boards a game, no plays run through him. Steven Adams still gets pts. Underrated and that’s the way we like it, he is a beast! American media just don’t like to cover non American players with any love. Doesn’t matter Adams will keep doin what he do
Let’s give Adams some credit, he’s probably one of the best role players in NBA honestly. He’s a clever and fundamental player, he’s useful in any team
steven adams is better than paul george. scoring isnt the only thing in basketball. compare adams to other players at his position, then compare george to other players at his position.
Steven Adams is averaging 5 offensive rebounds a game and could get more then 5 defensive rebounds a game but he lets Westbrook grab them because he runs the fast break. You can see it every game they play. Hes also averaging 63% fg percentage. He deserves more credit then he gets for running the paint.
Whitlock is right on the stats at the moment and Steven Adams is 3 years younger. Paul George is overrated, he has great box score numbers with average efficiency and underwhelming advanced numbers. Mix that with his "unclutchness" and I like what Whitlock is saying here.
Steven Adams is way under valued and a great piece on any team trying to win a championship, but he is a role player, just a championship caliber role player.
1st time im going to disagree with chris. Adams is a unselfish star. Why is howard considered a superstar in his prime? Adams play like dwight. He can average 18and 15 if he doesnt give westbrook those rebounds, i mean he gets 5.5offensive rebs a game. He has better touch than dwight, that floater immediately off a catch is unstopable. Blue collar players are very underated in the nba by fans. I bet a lot of gm is happy to pay him 30m a year instead of the 25m he is making now. He is great with westbrick and the brick brothers cause he thrives off those miss shots.
Steven Adams needs more credit than what people give him, he is and always has been a team player. Stats don't reflect him as a player, he is a un-selfish team player, and one of the main reasons why Westbrook received his triple double record last year. He is going from strength to strength. #underratedplayer #bestcentres #strong #fearedcentrestoplayagainst
Steve saves 4-6 points preventing fast breaks a game by keeping multiple bodies on the boards. He doesn’t need to get the ball allowing OKC to have 2 players who need to always have the ball. His off boards come on the offensive boards, kicking the ball out often for others to score. He does this with high energy, he runs the floor, he saps energy from other players. Without him, the current OKC team couldn’t function. That makes him the 2nd most valuable player at OKC
Larry Nance Jr: "Steven Adams is the strongest player in the league, and its not even close" Lebron James: "Steven has grown tremendously every season, he's a Monstor" Jimmy Butler "Steven Adams set a screen on me, I felt like I was going to die" He aint better then PG or Westbrook but he is better then this older melo.
@David Claytor How is what I said racist in any way? If I said someone who is black doesn't get the credit he deserves in his profession cause he is black, would that be racist too?
He was number 2 last year but everyones forgetting 3 of the 5 players on the opposing team where in the paint with him to choke the lane knowing OKC had no perimeter threats and the only guy they had to worry about was Westbrook and his +1 drives.
everyone sayin feature adams more... kinda hard to feature the guy with no offensive arsenal. his points are dump offs and putbacks, not post fades and pull up 3s
Broussard lacks vision. He's good at describing what a player's shown, not at envisioning what a player could be. Oladipo, Sabonis both look better away from Russ - which some folks predicted. Adams moves well for his height and has touch. He's better than he gets credit for next to Russ - which is often the case. Broussard misses stuff like.
Adams offers the team more than PG13 and Melo easily. Sad that idiots like Broussard think that points scored dictates the value of a player. They overlook the rebounds, the blocked shots, offensive rebounds, brutal screens and defensive rotational help Adams provides.
Steven Adams is the second mvp at okc. Capitalizes on his opportunities to score, set nasty screen, great defender, an absolute beast on offense rebounding, show great leadership. George is a great player but honestly you could replace him with any good shooter and okc would be fine. If Adams wasn’t there the house would crumbed. I watch all of the thunder games and he’s my favorite player. Just watch him and see what all he does. He directs rebounds to Westbrook witch looks like he just trying to go for the boards. Westbrook get 60% of his assistance from Steven Adams. Remove Steven Adams from the team in the triple double machine will be broke.
If no one had heard of Paul George before this year, you would agree Steven Adams is a better player. The only reason the panel is making fun of Whitlocks view point is because they know what PG is capable of.. he just hasnt shown that in OKC. So sure, based on his career so far PG is better than Adams, but based on this year.. he aint
He's an enigma, that's what he is,his sister was sportswoman of the year, and he's enjoying himself,He's on the same page with Russ, all about the wins,a great team will always beat a team full of great players,it's great to watch😃
