Having him pop out the car and join the interview, such a great into and the cinematography here is nothing short of perfection! Thank you Andy and Chris.
Agreed, except the cinematography was not 100% perfect;). I can say this because the DoP knows the light was too close to Andreas and almot blew out the highlights on his face when he walked closer to the camera than anticipated. I was actually surprised to see they had to have an assistant/gaffer walk around with a light bar in a studio (he is in frame at least once). But I think it's because they wanted to allow Chris and Andreas to walk around freely and shoot it just a tad more run and gun style and I agree with that choice - but it does make it harder for the crew. So, yeah, very close to perfect given those circumstances;).
The spec on that Touring is simply GORGEOUS! It's time to bring back silver wheels and chrome window surrounds. Embrace tradition and heritage. So tasteful **chef's kiss**
Until now, I would have always chose to black them out. But,… maybe due to my age, I would go with the chrome. Color is perfect,… I would just only change the color of the rims to Neodyme.
No no no no no... That green color needs bronze color window trim and wheels... Silver with green is worse combo than bronze with green ... Bronze all the way. Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze Bronze!
I've kept my subscription to this channel for years through the 'dark times' in the hopes that one day Chris and Neil will be back. Welcome back gentlemen. What a banger.
Andreas Preuninger is always a good interview, but there’s something special about the way he and Chris can just chat about the car, feels like an extra dose of casual insights you don’t get anywhere else. Glad to have you back!
That green color is outstanding! Well done Chris and Andreas is a legend for all the GT cars over the years, which I aspire to own i the future. Thank you.
These two gents together I could listen to all day, you can just hear the love they have for these cars, but also the love of the engineering, thank you
“Preuninger explains” is always the best. I bet we will all think of the preuninger era Porsches like Montezomolo or Bruno Sacco cars. Peak of a brand. Thanks Chris for the extra effort with all personal and valuable feedback as an owner. 😊
These Harris GT3 launches with Andreas are like milestones in my life. I look back at them like birthdays or anniversaries. What a joy. Thanks to both of you for bringing it to all of us.
You're the only person that has asked what colour is on the Touring. No doubt you'll get an allocation for a Touring fella. You have friends in high places 👍👍
I dont often get the fizz from a Porsche but that Touring is something special . Glad you're back Chris! We missed you.

Harris is a LEGEND!! As well as my guy Andy Preuninger!! These two single handily made me fall in love with GT division Porsches over a decade ago when car youtube vids were just starting to get big and quality improvements in audio/video. Took me a decade but because of these guys, I saved up for a 4L 718 stick. While it's not GT3/ST/GT2/RS, it's still epic on the streets. Thanks Chris and Andreas for all you do, an have done over the past many years of excellence in GT products / marketing and Chris' journalism style (especially when he's skidding about behind the wheel of these cars)
Great video! Chris and Andreas have obviously become good friends. They have a great dynamic and after Andreas retires, would be hilarious to see them do a podcast or Buddy roadtrip show together. The Automotive Odd Couple 😂 Anyone else scared the window was going to break when Chris was leaning on it? I can’t wait to see one in person and get behind the wheel of the 992.2 GT3!
I'm pretty sure Chris did a podcast episode on the original collecting cars podcast a few years ago. They're shared story with Spanish police is quite fun.
@EGO0808 i drive a 911 Carrera T on weekends... But never see GT3 tourings around. Again, I'm more into Lamborghini & McLaren (also have a 720s spider). But I'm starting to get into Porsche the last several years. There's just too many damm model, numbers to remember lol
@@markusstevensakabiginfinit9523 True, it is a jungle full of different versions of the 911 family. Of course, if you would go to a dealership you'd get e good explanation, as it all depends on what you want and expect from the 911, how you'd drive it, kids yes or no etc etc. The GT3 touring obviously is being sold as the most performance oriented 911, that still fits the casual ride with 2 kids in it. It's relatively comfrotable (emphasis on relatively...), but if you psuh it, the beast unleashes. I am more of a 911 guy since I started driving them, but I still have my F430 as well, I love them both. The 911 is my daily ride, the F430 for the occasion. I think that that is the main characteristic also for the 911, it is a daily dirver when you want it. Easy to drive, fast if you want to, anything goes. And.... reliable, robust and even when there are repairs, it is nothing like Lamborghini or Ferrari... McLaren sounds exhilirating btw....
Rotary ignition switch!! May seem silly but this is telling of Porsche's sensitivity to tradition and legacy (vs. something undistinguishable from how one starts up a new Cayenne, a misstep by Porsche IMO). The rear seat option's a fine acknowledgment of customer preferences. The color's great, if a mysterious. "Oak Green Neo" isn't listed in Rennbow, the Porsche color wiki. They do have many examples of the better known Oak Green Metallic (oakgrünmetallic), which, to my eye, has too much of a yellowish cast/tinge. Me? I like Forest Green Metallic (tannengrün) - and for non-metallic, Connaught Green (connaughtgreen).
What a gorgeous presentation - could watch and listen for hours, you and Andy. And yes, that Touring Gen seems to be a really really good one. Looking forward to your test drive in it. Thanks Champ.
AND HE'S BACKKKKK!!!! I rarely been happy in my life ... but this is a treat. Grateful for Harris bein' back, and what a great friend he brought to the "first" one !
Have to respect a man who is so confident in what his company does and produces that he takes a care free attitude when it comes to talking about it because he knows the product speaks for itself.
This video by Chris should have been what Porsche put out as their main promo. What an incredible overview. And I would love to meet Andreas one day to just shake his hand and say thank you and the team for creating this amazing machines. We are so fortunate to have these and hope we have them for years to come. Hopefully I can afford one someday 😂
If you were aware this video was out, and you clicked on anyone else's "first look" of the GT3 before CH's... You don't deserve nice things. Edit - I'm sure most of us are in agreement that Andreas is probably our favourite person working in automotive today. The combination of knowledge, passion and humour with no ego is likely unmatched. You want his cars to be a success (which they always are). Seeing him and Chris go back-and-forth is just tremendous.
19:33 Chris leaning on the lightweight glass and Andreas holding it from the other side to make sure he does not break it :D
That, Gentlemen, is the difference between the Brute and the Gentleman...If I was Andreas, I would have scorned him:: " I have just told you that we close the frameless door by pushing the solid part of it and not the glass one, and, YET, you BRUTE, are literally leaning on the window lightweight glass...What kind of dumb a** are you?"...And I would have ended the interview there and then...! What a good sport Mr Andreas is!
This was a class video, a car review that was interesting even without it being driven! The chat was like a guitar riff between the two. Kudos to Porsche for allowing this, Kudos to Chris for being his old self, Kudos to Andreas for articulating how Porsche listened to their customers and are constantly pushing forward with improvements! Chris Harris on Cars…….welcome back! 👏
Can’t believe they ticked the entire wish list: ICE, Shorter ratios / gear throw, suspension recalibration.. Post warranty just remove some cats and there’s your power and light weighting!
I clicked another video to walk through the highlights of the new car and left it seeing Chris had one of his own. Glad to have you back doing this your way.
Thank you Chris you legend, glad to see you here. That green one is very much a problem for me too. What a stunning piece of artwork. Look forward to seeing more of you and amazing cars. X
It feels like two mates having a chat about their passion, in enough detail not to bore the listener/viewer. Great to see. Love these cars too. Which to have?... If only. As with all proper GT cars, you have to have a bunch of Porsche cars already.....Oh, and upward of £157k. Keep it up Chris (just don't close the doors with the glass or lean on the door glass...
Dear Mr Harris...WOW! I've watched you since T.G, and have loved your humour and frankness throughout. I truly hope that you get your own show, as you're clearly the best and most knowledgeable person when it comes to cars. of all sizes. This was a tremendous exclusive and you both also have such a rapport that shines through that you're good friends that obviously respect each other. If you don't get offered a TV series of your own or with companions, then the motoring world is seriously losing out, imho. Going to watch your latest podcast now. Take care and thank you for your amazing entertainment and phenomenal driving skills. 😉🏁🏴☠
ive waited 7 years, 7 months, 19 days and 4 hours to finally return to this glorious channel, tough bit to follow that jeremey clarkson is innit? glad to have ya back Chris, when can i expect a new f40 f80 comparison? cheers
this is my love letter to Porsche, in a world of manufacturers that gave up making good cars for the sake of sales, Porsche is the last one standing in doing cars for real enthusiasts, and thanks god there are enough rich enthusiasts to keep it rolling, i've lost faith in every other brand, sadly i am not rich, but i am beginning to save money, maybe one day i'll drive one, thank Porsche for being awesome.
Omg. Andreas you have designed the perfect GT3 Touring. Just loving all the details and feedback from customers that GT have listened to. Only Porsche is doing this. I want one!
