I'd point you to watching a meeting held in the 1990s with Carl Sagan, in the US, where he clearly and succinctly explained that if the Western countries did not divest from fossil fuels, namely oil, then the consequences would be extremely dire for humanity and the planet, in other words, humans would destroy planet Earth and it would be in the foreseeable future. Satire can succeed in bringing attention to the facts of the matter, and this video and action is successful in doing that. It's a fact that not enough people take notice of serious information and as for discussion, that's been done to death for decades now, the facts are there, the information is available the consequences are staring us in the face. Leaders of so many countries know absolutely what the consequences of their catastrophic inaction and their deliberate misconduct in handing out deals to big corporations to extract more planet wrecking oil and gas will be. Let's not forget the mega rich are actually building underground bunkers for themselves, equipped with all the requirements to sustain life and a good one at that. No need to spend their billions upon billions of dollars on actually working on a future for the planet, where our kids and grandkids will be able to survive. That's not looking too possible right now, action is needed now, but the greedy and powerful are winning, as you say, it's now or never. Action not words, or be destroyed, it's that simple.

The Sagan discussion was held in 1985, he warned the US and the world in general, about catastrophic climate change due to oil extraction etc, more or less saying that it was going to be a close call if action to divest was not taken without delay. Sigh, look at what happened instead. Criminals.

Really heavy discussions have been in progress for decades - IPCC meetings and COPnn meetings. Not enough is being done, still, because the fight back by the extremely wealthy is more effective than sober, accurate science no matter how often people are told about the disaster happening. Democracy, protest, civil disturbance, accurate reporting, satire, extreme climate disasters etc all seem to be failing to get the results we need. I have no idea what will succeed but satire and protests like this ∆∆∆ is as good as anything

Absolutely right! And scientists are constantly improving their models in order to better align them with the vast amounts of real time data now being gathered 24/7 from satellites, balloons, bouys, research vessels, land based monitoring stations etc.. The problem is the telling of straight out lies and the spreading of misinformation, by the fossil fuel sponsored media owned by foreign tax dodgers.

There's nothing wrong with having questions for climatologists and those in related fields. You just need to be willing to accept the answers.

@@Richard482 That just leaves you with the problem of choosing which scientists to believe. One of the most qualified climate scientists is Richard Lindzen. He is not on board with the climate hoax and neither is Roy Spencer and John Christy who get the satellite data. Judith Curry does not believe it, either. Neither did the state climatologists who were fired because they would not believe the approved narrative. Curry was no longer able carry out research once her views were known. The IPCC write a climate report but the part that is released to the media is written by politicians not scientists. Those are the views that get propagated. If what we are told about the climate is all true then there would be no need to fire, censure and ban any dissenting voices.
