My gen 2 809xc makes up super steep hills that are laced with 1 to 2 foot boulders all the way up. I run amends Beat Class htr tires. The gen2 are great at climbing
No offence man but that's not the type of terrain you bring a brand new atv on. You're supposed to break it in untill the first oil change, avoid low gear and very steep hills. Not saying that It can't handle them, but It's a new machine and you don't know it capacity just yet, and you're doing the engine, the belt and everything a favour and that way you won't have problems in the long term
You must not live in Southern Arizona that's the only terrain there is. I don't have the patience for putting around on it. I'm a mechanic anyway. If it breaks I'll fix it. It got adequate break in time. So far its a win.
