I'm British, so have zero connection with the American National Anthem - this literally brought me to tears and I cant even begin to imagine how proud a feeling it would of been to be there to witness the most powerful and meaningful rendition of your country's national anthem being sung as it should. Its just raw and full of emotion and sang in a way that its all about the Anthem not the singer trying to show off every run or vocal trick they have possible. Chris Stapleton is in my mind the greatest vocalist to have ever graced this planet!

Us bluegrass fans do miss him being the lead singer of the Steeldrivers, but he had to be shared with the world. Just like Alison Krauss. I'm happy for his new career outside bluegrass.

Stapleton's version of the National Anthem absolutely fits with the story of the creation of the anthem. Grown men with tears in their eyes is a testament to his rendition.

It’s like Mike Tyson said about Muhammad Ali: “Every head must bow and every tongue must confess” and so on… Whitney’s anthem was the true original best, but now, we have a new amazingly wonderful rendition that will also live on as arguably the best version ever! Two very different versions both very beautiful!!
This rendition has to go down as the best of all time, the one that had everyone in tears. His creativity is off the charts, and that voice... omg....the man can do no wrong. He's unbeatable.

Absolutely the best I’ve ever heard the National Anthem done. I cried but I always cry but I saw some 300 lb football players cry too. Love this guy. I listen to his music every day.
Beyond gorgeous. That put a clutch round my heart and tears in my eyes. They key and feel are magical. The US also just has a beautiful - beautiful anthem.
Chris Stapleton, as a veteran brought tears with love for of patriotism for all Americans. If I was an artist I would respectfully decline the invite to sing the national anthem.God blues America. He is the best of this generation, world class. He opened the blues to my soul.
Unbelievable; I have listened to this multiple times and it amazes me every time how good this man can sing with such emotion. He knocked that out of the park and, in my opinion, was the best rendition of the anthem I have every heard in my 61 years.
He makes you feel every word and when you understand the story behind this song it will bring a tear to your eyes......America needs to get back to the feeling he evokes when he sings this
This brought tears to my eyes. I'm very proud to live in this great country, despite what the disagreements, and disputes. In the end we are always the Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave. And I will always shed a tear whenever this great nations anthem begins to chime. God bless America, and those who gave all for my beloved nation.
One thing is for sure, if you didn't know who Chris was before the Superbowl, you definitely knew after this! I bet a lot of people will now go back and look through his catalog and become fans as well! He gives me chills every time he sings! I've been a fan for a while now!

I knew some of his music but never appreciated it as much as I do now, since he sang our anthem so beautifully. I’ve been listening to him every day since.
America's national anthem literally is our story, (as far as I know no other country's anthem has that); and Chris's performance let us feel every word of that emotional victory of them seeing our flag still flying during battle. People all over the world are talking about it.
Played American 🏈 and went to high school with Chris. It's so surreal seeing him on the biggest stage. We are from a very small mountain town. I wasn't close to him, but I remember hearing him play music in school at a friend's house. Her brother was one of his bandmates at the time. We always thought he was good but could never have dreamed of this success.

I cry every time I watch a reaction because for those few moments I actually felt American and that it mattered. It’s like him singing The National Anthem felt so moving and I felt Freedom that I hadn’t felt for awhile! I’m crying now. The best rendition that I have heard and felt!!

Just when you think you have heard all the greatness Chris Stapleton has to offer and has offered, he pulls another ace out of his hat. I really don't know how CS could perform our national anthem any better. It was ear orgasms from the moment he opened his mouth to the moment he sang the last verse. The cadance was perfect, the guitar was perfect, the vocals were perfect!!! How does this man continue to wow his fan base like this???? It is very difficult to not get emotional watching this rendition of our national anthem. Great reaction, TY. So glad I got to see this artist live in Virginia Beach last year.

He is such an incredible talent!!!! The grit and raw emotion while holding the note is epic. Hands down my favorite of all time. If you haven’t seen him live…..it will make your heart smile!
He took over the top rendition of this song to me from Whitney at the Super Bowl. He just made my hair stand on end again even after hearing it for the 4th time. My son, who died at 24, told me Cris was one of his favorites, so it carries some extra weight for me. Great job!

Such a heartfelt and mesmerizing performance. His CMA performance of "Cold" is probably my favorite. What's not to love about his music. I did see an interview before he sang, and he was a bit nervous about doing it. He didn't have anything to worry about.... spectacular!

I knew once I heard Chris was going to play the national anthem it was going to get this sort of reaction. I've never heard another country singer who had such a voice and his time couldn't have been at a more needed time. Music has always had a sort of healing effect on people. To bring people together. Just seeing so many football players and coaches in tears when just a few years ago theu would have been kneeling. It was such a powerful moment for sports and the country.
