RIP Prince. One of the greatest songwriters in history. His songs will live forever and be covered often. Thanks for reacting to this wonderful tribute. Chris has an amazing voice.

A great Chris Stapleton performance is him singing Midnight Train to Memphis while on SNL with Sturgil Simpson. Sturgil is another quasi Country singer you should listen to.

Sinead O’Connor version will always be my favorite version. Having said that, I love Chris Stapleton and Prince. Chris Cornell does a great cover of this, too.

Sinead O’Connor's version is my favorite, but yes, Chris Stapleton definitely can keep up with the best of the best! I saw Chris perform 'Shameless' (Written by Billy Joel, recorded by Billy Joel, and then Garth Brooks) in front of Garth Brooks... and he KILLED IT! Garth was receiving The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize and Chris blew him away!

My intro to Chris. Was watching all the tributes from that weekend, saw the thumbnail, and wondered how bad this dude messed up a song from my favorite artist. Yeah, book/cover, lesson learned… From the ‘music can be universal’ file- kudos to the crowd for killing the chorus

I like this cover by Chris, but nothing compares to Sinéad O' Connor and Prince's version.

Great rendition, in typical Chris Stapleton style...but the standard for this song is owned by Sinead O'Conner, in any version you choose.
