Okay, where do I begin? First of all, don't say something so stupid. Hatred is NOT criticism. Just because you gear something you don't want to hear does NOT mean that that something is wrong/unfair. Webber hung on the rim, period. He should've been penalized for it. For that matter, he also might've gotten by with a walk-- a VERY-discreet one.
@David Lawrence dude Vitale and Billy Packer loved the Fab Five.. they received racist hate mail , some hating by wack announcers, Packet was just telling the truth here .. he spun around and hung onto the rim .
@@michigan2400 Actually Billy Packer hated the Fab Five, and has even publicly said that they were terrible for college basketball and that they were overrated because they never won anything. Man's definitely a hater
@@IAWIA5 youre right... fuck Billy Packer ... in an interview in 2011 he ripped The Fab 5 ... he knew his stuff though .He was very knowledgeable about College B B
Oh, you shut your racist mouth, you racist liar. Should Webber have been rung up? Yes. You're acting like a white announcer shouldn't criticize him. That's racism on your part, racist.
Warriors draft C.Webb #1 overall. I remember waking up and reading the paper that he signed a 15 year $74 mil contract with the Warriors. But for some reason I will never understand gsw constructed the contract with an opt out option after his rookie year 🤦♂️. He wins ROTY but Don Nelson smh forced him to play out of position at center and they're relationship went sour, which made him a free agent at the end of the season. Warriors end up trading him for Tom Gugliotta and 3 first round picks (Todd Fuller who the Warriors drafted when guys like Kobe Bryant Steve Nash and Jermaine O'Neal were still on the board, Vince Carter who gsw trades on draft night for Antwan Jamison and lastly Jeff Foster who played in the league for 12 years for Vonteego Cummings who was out of basketball in 3 years. Hardaway was traded to miami for Bimbo Coles, Chris Mullen gets traded to Indiana for Erik Dampier. After posting 12 ppg, 12 rebs, 1.7 blocks in his 2nd season gsw trades Damp to the Mavs for 3 players who never touched the court for the dubs. Latrell Spreewel chokes the head coach and is traded to NYK, for a washed-up John Starks, a 37 year old Terry Cummings and Chris Mills. Gsw also traded Billy Owens who they previously traded HOF Mitch Richmond for, got Rony Seikaly in return. After posting career-low numbers with the Warriors they trade Seikaly for Felton Spencer. Growing up as a Warriors fan was an absolute nightmare and it all started with that horrible Chris Webber trade. Can't forget trading Jamal Crawford who avg 20 points for the Warriors for Speedy Claxton and Acie Law either.
hanging the rim for a milisecond is fine since there is a guy chasing him, and if goes down fast he might land unsafely, A technical is if a guy showing off, cwebb is clearly looking behind when he hang
Who cares about that, them kids had style, weren't supposed to win and we're pretty dominant. I was a GSW fan and loved C-Webb he transformed that team.
Anyone ask themselves what part of the population provides a majority of the revenue that makes those programs possible? How many compliments did Mr. Packer need to bestow on C Webb before basically commenting on the officials non call 😅 to avoid false accusations one wonders.
Fab Five is one of ones all time favorite teams but they were bone heads and undisciplined which largely was Steve Fischer’s fault as well as immaturity and lack of exposure to the larger society. (This hurt several players in their early professional careers) Those who’s prognosis is some type of ism likely did not experience the era or revisit past contest. Billy Packer can be annoying but his entire career was spent marketing players of all backgrounds. Covering them over 2 seasons likely was frustrating for most mature fans, with all mean mugging, gesticulation and exuberant articulation. (They had the propensity to make the simplest play more complicated, this made for great TV but equal amounts of questions about basketball IQ) Nothing a coach or commentator that respects the game and operates with integrity would not say. Those accustomed to modern basketball have references that most who come up with post modern basketball spectacle do not usually possess. One has spent enough time trying to exercise bad habits out of young players to understand the frustration. Billy Packer loved the game and had deep appreciation for the coaches and players but he kept it real which most of us who grew up in that era were accustomed with. ( He got on everyone’s nerves occasionally but he was usually spot on) Contrast Fab Five with UNLV circa Larry Johnson era. Equally entertaining but extremely more mature and disciplined but with a certain edge to them.
