Yeah and these youngsters claim the 80's and 90's era was full of plumbers, lol & smfh. Yeah right, todays NBA is garbage if u ask me, all they do is stand around the 3 point line. The 90's NBA was when it was at it's best.
Yeah. NBA basketball I used to live and breath for. My favorite thing in life. Now I don't even watch today's NBA's highlights. I freaking miss basketball.
That's the NBA that I miss😢😢😢😢.... they played defense!! Every shot was contested. The rivalries were fierce and hard. Players weren't friends team to team and across the league. Those dudes had something to prove.
He wasn't friends with them during the regular season - He would fight all of them. He did Ewing dirty many of times with no regard to Friendship.@@jrsmith1998
Blame injuries and don nelson for basically having Webber force his way out of the warriors for not understanding webbers all around game. The warriors with a healthy hardaway, Mullins, spreewell and Webber would’ve definitely made big noise in the western conference
@@stevesteve0521 And another Hall of Famer on the Warriors roster was lost to injury that year- Sarunas Marciulionis... imagine that squad- Mullin/Hardaway/Webber/Sprewell/Owens/Marciulionus - no wonder Red Auerbach had them as his pre-season NBA title fave before the Hardaway and Sarunas injuries. (Hardaway blew his ACL out in his very first team practice with CWebb, sad they never hooked up)
@@knucklevision you’re right I did forget to mention sarunas, very good player for the warriors the euro step king. It’s a shame he never was the same after that leg injury
Where was the dunk on shaq? Its nit dunking on someone unless u actulky dunk on them, not just bc a player had a dunk whike another was gaurding them means ge dunked on him. If that was the case then shaq dunked on Kareem, wilt, and russle too they all watch some of his games live they were in the arena, and all were center there for shaq dunked on them.
I watched this game on TV when I was Highschool, Im 43 now, Im still a CWebb fan, he was way ahead in skills, he could truly dominate now in this era, its just the injuries and immaturity of his youth stained his early years in the NBA
I never liked Webber's game. He couldn't jump and there was nothing really special about him. He didn't stand out as a great player to me. He was big, but somehow played below the rim. Kinda like a European player before they became popular
Growing up in Orlando it was great to see this Orlando team from the start, I was lucky enough to see the first games in person in 89, used to see Shaq in the downtown clubs back then, we actually snuck in to the 95 playoffs against the Rockets in the Orlando arena and sat about 10 rows up, what a time for sports and a great era to live, the 90's
Great game! Ref missed an obvious Goaltending at the end but Wow!!! Two loaded teams. I didn’t even know Avery Johnson was on that team. Weber, Spree, Milly, Billy Owens, Gatling vs Shaq, Penny, Anderson, 3D, Skiles… Geesh! What a time for Basketball!!!
BRO THIS GOT ME HYPED.. I JUST WATCHED THIS LIKE IT. WAS A CURRENT GAME.. THIS IS WHEN HOOPIN WAS HOOPIN. NO PETTY CYRING TO THE REFS NO 3 PTERS FROM CENTERS .. JUST IN UR FACE GROWN MAN HOOPIN!
It's such a shame we never saw Webber more than one season in Golden State. They had Sprewell, an injured Tim Hardaway ready to come back, an old Chris Mullin, Gatling on the bench... This could have been a fun team to watch.
Penny in my opinion during his stay in Orlando, was 1 of the Greatest PG in the NBA,then sadly injuries robbed us all of watching a "Hall Of Fame Career"😥Man starting around the '93 season the Warriors were Loaded,Tim Hardaway,Latrell Sprewell,Chris Mullin,Billy Owen,Chris Gatling, and Chris Webber😳😳If the Magic only knew in 2 years they would be losing Shaq to the lakers😅That's what they get for " Low Balling The Most Dominating Center In The League " at the time and for Many Years To Come😅
Avery Johnson was a late addition to replace an injured Tim Hardaway. If that team could have stayed together they would have been great. Still had a 50 win season.
@@drid2507 they never did. the post webber started 18 years of bad basketball. i still remember paying the janitor $15 to have lower bowl seats to watch dampier, joe smith, danny fortson getting killed every night.
Good basketball being played here! Old School 90's ball was the greatest! Penny was something special. For all the younger kids who think todays game is it, just watch this clip and you will see true basketball. Hustle and heart every play. No jackin up 3's every other time down, no crying, no super teams!
Webber a beast during his prime and in golden state warriors, spree not that polished but when he's in Knicks he's much better, Shaq having a hard time against Webber whatta great game
So happy I found some good footage of this Warriors squad when they had Sprewell/Webber/Owens. I can't believe Nelson broke this crew up - they were so good & so tight. I loved this team. Subscribed. Thank you!
watching this vid; seeing the coaches celebrating, looking around like fans... for the first time I thought: i bet the coaches are just fans | spectators. From coach POV, how do I coach this?? 🤔 this is electric🔥| it's organic! 🌊| like the players are the coaches 'cause they knew what plays they wanted to run; they knew who they wanted to double-team; they were aware of the clock; 🤷🏾♂ 4 sure but I imagine a coach might b fraid of coaching that as it matured. Might b open 2 a trade...
Orlando was such a novel team too with how many threes they put up per game. With scott, anderson, hardaway, and royal out there, they would be the first modern great 3 point shooting team I would say, before Nash's Suns.
After four world championships I can finally bear to watch this. What a team this could have become for the Warriors in the 90’s. It took the team 20 years to recover from the Webber debacle
I remember watching the highlights on the news and those two passes were the first time I ever saw or heard of PENNY. I was like GOTDAMN wtf did I just see?! He became my favorite player ever just off those plays. Like I knew he was different. I checked for him any chance after that. I took so much from him and we share the same birthday💯
These two squads and Charlotte were the hot young teams to watch. Loaded with young talent. All looked like they had the building blocks to be good long term. And all were busted up by 1996.
Man Penny was something else. if he did not get those injuries, the GOAT conversation would indeed be complicated. He would have out pressure on Jordan, no doubt, Penny was a beast!
These were the days of competitive basketball! All the teams had STARS! I was a Warriors fan because I lived in OAKLAND! They were up and rocking with Mullin, Richmond, and Tim Hardaway too! I loved this game so much then!!
I’m don’t like the warriors with curry and company but I did like the warriors with Webber I still have the sports stuff cards magazines from 93 it’s one of my favorite possessions.
This penny was insane. His defense was next level. If you see this penny and compare it to the 96 penny you can already see his loss of mobility with his knees.
Great game, all the young stars probably had something to prove. Shaq was #1 pick in 92 and had to show #1 rookie Webber. Penny and Webber were traded together so they probably had to show that they were more valuable to their teams. Sprewell was the outsider who proved to be a star and didn't want Penny to outshine him. And all these players were pre-injury state in their athletic prime. I am impressed especially with Webber who was far more athletic than his Bullets or Kings versions.
Bullets Webber had all of this speed and explosiveness. Kings Webber still had a little at the beginning. His injury in '01 is when everything really fell apart.
