The smell of this perfume was absolutely and I mean absolutely amazing today when I was walking on the beach and this lady was wearing it. I complimented her..... she’s from France and as soon as she goes back to France she’s sending me a bottle. I’m super, super stoked. What a kind and beautiful lady she was 🥰🥰💎💎
Love the bottle and packaging. This was gifted to me many years ago. Though I'm not really a floral girl, I have to say it received many compliments when I wore it!
Another prefect description! Although it does dry down to a lovely soft powdery musk on me. I loved this when I was sampling it. When I bought the full bottle it wasn't the same. It was ,as you said , screechy . Jennifer Aniston , which I love , is a softer Jadore . But it doesn't last long unfortunately. Tfs!
every time I smell this it reminds me of a confident voluptuous women wearing a long red dress with a long slit holding a glass of champagne, J'adore has a sparking champagne scent imo xD it's gorgeous
@@ChildofGodforevr seems like you watch your neighbor's wife too much if you know she's lazy. As far as the rest of the description you're just coming off like an A-hole
My husband got this for me on my birthday in August of 2000 and I LOVED it!! Two weeks later we found out I was having a baby, and due to being with child, my nose changed and I couldn't stand most of my favorite fragrances, J'adore, being at the top of the list. :( I gave it to my mother, who wore it with aplomb, and I could tolerate it on her for some reason. Why do these big fashion houses keep reformulating their beloved fragrances? It's not as if we, the consumer, are looking for a new pleat or an updated buckle in a fragrance. I think that's why I usually wear niche fragrances. They don't change. Thank you for the review!!
+Lisette Trela Hi Lisette! Oh that's a shame your nose turned you off of it after loving it so much. Well, the reformulations are unfortunately all to do with law. It was passed a year or so ago that certain ingredients were not allowed to be used anymore. Others can only be used in certain amounts. It's all to do with allergens (although many people think it government propoganda haha). So, it's a shame..but it's gotta happen. Boooo. This is why so many people hunt down vintages now. :)
+ouch110 Fragrance Reviews Ahhh....I didn't know that! Thank you for sharing such valuable information with me. I like to think I keep up with things like this, but obviously this one slipped right by me. Have a lovely day!
I remember this fragrance being a lot richer and deeper when it first came out. I just bought a new bottle and and it’s definitely why he describes as “screechy” lol
I've been wearing this parfum for the past six years and I love it! it's my signature scent! as soon I smelled it; it just reminded me of my childhood which is weird because no one in my family wore it. Hmm... but the scent changed and now i'm PISSED OFF!! sigh....
Actually how you tell the old vs the new formula is the older ones have the full Christian Dior name logo and the newer ones just have Dior On it as most vintage Dior’s they will have the full name on it.. hope this helps..
I love your humor and you’re awfully cute. I can’t see anybody hating you. I could care less about J’Adore, I hate it, it’s overhyped but I’m still here just to see you. 😆
If I'm remembering correctly, Dior's inspiration for this fragrance was to create a scent reminiscent of gold. Thus, all the lovely gold accents. :) I truly enjoy this for special occasions. It's a bit much for daily wear. As you mentioned, the florals get a bit screechy. However, for special, especially dressier occasions, it's like wearing luxury and gives you that extra air of confidence. Love it.
Such a beautiful one. I think it could be easily over sprayed though. It's lovely when it's subtle. Do you find the new formula lasts? My old boss had the older one and it was seriously strong. This one is also but, the longevity...I feel like I need to re-apply quite often.
Because I mostly use this as an event/date fragrance, I find the 6-ish hours to be just right, but I wish it did last a bit longer. The older one was definitely stronger and sharper!
I have a sample of the voile version which I need to review, also I tried the L'Or one which was fantastic! Very rich, I may invest in that one at some point. :)
Yes this perfume used to be such a beautiful perfume but the reformulation had killed this beauty. It’s nothing like it used to be. Sadly . I don’t like this horrid formula. But more for u then
I love this perfume and have the full collection. I’ve always bought the day de parfum but since the credit crunch notice that the perform has lost its scent and doesn’t smell as supreme. However the parfum handbag capsules do tend to hold their scent even after 10 years.
Yay! I thought you would like it. I'd love to hear your review on it (on RU-vid or on Fragrantica). Favorite perfume + favorite reviewer = YES. Keep doing what you're doing, you're really cool!
Noura Alaboudi Aww thanks so much. It is in my eyeline fo sure. I will eventually be reviewing the Voile version too as I have a sample of that one. :)
Thank you for your help, it would seem that my sister has the new one! Oh well! PS I appreciate how much you interact with your viewers, it means a lot. Keep up the great reviews ;)
It is peary - you were correct! I love this perfume so much, but never owned it. It’s too expensive for me at the moment. But since I smelled it I’ve been wanting it, so I know sometime in the future I’ll get it. Once I get it I will always repurchase it, I feel like, anyway. I think it’s such a nice feminine scent, very fruity, but classy. Perfect for every day, it’s not overpowering. Again, J’adore this perfume! Haha. :D
I enjoyed watching your reviews. Recently I got J'adore L'or from my husband and I loved it. I never smelled the other J'adore version before like the one that you reviewed on this video. Would you do the J'adore L'or review please as not too many youtubers reviewed on this perfume? :)
+Tassie Girl Hi Tassie! Thanks for your comment. J'adore is lovely..and there are many variations of it since the first release. I only know J'adore L'ore from the bottle, it's gorgeous. Unfortunately I haven't smelled it. :( Sorry!
I can remember the launch of this in the store I worked at, it was a bomb, warm and deep, it's so sad they've destroyed it, used to have a very deep tuberose base, I agree with you about the notes, they make no sense.
I've tried to wear this fragrance so many times, but it really doesn't agree with my body chemistry unfortunately. It always smells like grass on me, yuck. Smells good on others though. Oh well, can't win them all. Lol
I bought Dior Jadore during the launching period in the 90s.... it was sweeter and more fruity then which i like... anyhow Jadore is not a super impressive feminine scent to me that i never repurchased. With the same amount of money, i would rather buy the original Dior Poison, Dune, or Hynotic Poison really... Thanks for this review Thomas ,,
My boyfriend ordered me a bottle of the J'adore parfum and I received it today! It's very feminine and smells almost identical to Pleasures by Estee Lauder!
Thanks for the nice review Ouch! :) I always liked J'adore, but couldn't wear it because of the persistent metallic note that was in it... It almost smelled like real gold (surprise ;) ). I much more prefer J'adore L'or - stronger, more dramatic and very elegant version, I smell tuberose in it; and J'adore Voile de Parfum - classic powdery scent. :)
catdeluxeatday no probs! The J'adore L'or really intrigues me. It looks like a more syrupy golden version of this so...if I see it I need to try it! :)
DAMN AND BLAST REFORMULATION!!!!!!! Never tried this one, don't think my partner has either so will get her to try it. Loving the atomiser inside the box!! Nice touch!!
+razscott God I'm just realising all of these comments I've never seen. youtube is a bitch sometimes. haha. Anwyay..hope you're doing good fella. How about that M/Mink ay?
Hello ouch! I had used j'adore before and i believe that was in 2001. Back then, it was given to me by my aunt from the states. I never really care for it same with gucci envy since they smell typical here in the philippines. Jadore smells like jasmine straight to me soak in cold water while envy smells like ylang-ylang tree at the back of our house. But i prefer envy since stays linear. The major thing that bothers me on jadore is that it have a tendency to be really salty musk at the drydown. Recently, my friend got this perfume as a present and she shows it to me probably the recent formulation but still turns salty on my skin. But a lot tolerable. Am i the only one having this experience or you do in some aspect while this fragrance develops? Thanks
+cyril benavides Oh yes..I know what you mean exactly about the saltiness. That is a tone I wish I had mentioned in my review. I think this is the tone that makes people feel a bit weird about it. Like I said It's like a high pitched powder, and it's very sharp...SALTY!!!!! You got it in one! Sorry for replying so late, youtube notifications, have been messed ip for 8 months!
Hello Ouch, do you know when J'adore was reformulated? My sister has a bottle and we don't know whether or not it is the good stuff ;) great review as always.
rainbowbright111 Hello!!! From what I've read it could have been around 2006. Dior had a major overhaul of reformulation starting with thier classics (dioressence, diorella..etc). If you have the box still you can tell by looking at the circular logo. If the logo is solid gold, it's the new one. If it has a ring of gold..you've got the vintage!! :)
this is the review that i was waiting for. thx ouch.. it does smell nice. now that j'adore has gone through reformulations i don't think i'll be purchasing this. i hate it when a fragrance is reformulated. it's just not the same how you smell it before.. anyhow ouch keep on the good reviews.. =D
Safia Maria Thank you! Yes it's a shame. :( If you want to hunt down the old one, look for the box that has dior on it at the top with a ring of gold around it. If it has a solid gold logo, it's the new one. :)
There isn't really a comparison apart from the fact they are both white florals. They have very different characters. J'adore is sharper and more jasmine based and Pure Poison is softer and more floaty. hehe. You should try both.
ylang ylang and champaca are dominant note for this juice, that what i get. almost no slouch and its stay a day on my skin. i agree that it reformulation, i don't know how many time it reformulated. thanks for the make a review for this.
I’ve had friends that stick to one fragrance year after year. That’s not me , It’s my moods that decide what I wear for the day.. heavy vanilla is a once in a while fragrance for me. I have and do like jadore
I remember my aunt smell this sometimes when I was a child and one chrismas long time ago she gave the perfume as a gift to my mom but she's not a fan of perfum so she almost never smell jadore. I still today love the perfume but I wondering if males can have it or would it just be awkward? Because one of my girlfriends tried a very masculine perfume of me and all the men at the night club fell for her as dirty dogs... So that´s why I wondering.
+XOXO92ify Haha what do you mean all the men fell for her like dirty dogs? I honestly think it's up to the individual. If you feel confident enough to wear something? Just wear it! Ignore the label and go for it. If I like the smell of something? I just wear it. :) Fragrance is meant to be about expression, fun and a bit of luxury...so..have fun with it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for comment. Best answer ever! The dirty dog thing, I meant most of the guys wanted to get her in bed and acted weird as usual when she smelled like a virile forester (lol) not to she unattractive in normaly but u get it,:) It was a funny experience anyway xD
Did you get the chance to smell the new J'adore Lumiere? It has a prominent blood orange note. IMO, it smells incredible but I am on the fence about buying yet another perfume lol
I haven't smelled it yet. :( There are lots of new ones I need to smell. I am going on holiday soon so, the airport will be my time to get my nose on lots of new things. YAY! :) I really like the sound of having blood orange in there.
Back when this first came out my ex bought it for me and it was lovely, but when we broke up I was so sad at how the relationship ended I threw the whole bottle in the trash and yes it was a stupid move and I could have given it away but I was angry and hurt and wanted nothing that this ex ever gave me.
Sometimes it's better to get rid of scent memories, I hear stories all the time about people that cannot bear to smell certain things because they are tied to bad memories. :)
ok, I'm in the minority on this one...lol I worked for Dior in the 90's when this came out and we were supposed to wear it. I couldn't stand it on me for some reason. It gave me a bit of a headache and, dare I say, nausea...hehe A few years ago a friend gave it to me as gift and I felt so bad because I still couldn't stand it. I love florals, but this one just doesn't like me. Plus, it gives me a skin reaction. Such a shame, I really wanted to like it. Oh well, can't win them all. lol
+Elegantnails3 I agree, it's easily a perfume that could cause a headache due to the sharp floral tone of it. It's a bit of a love or hate this one. :)
oh thank you. Get some sessions yourself first though(I won't pay for it). Sadly, no one taught you that you should let people do that they want to do. if you don't like him talking just skip through and shut the FUCK up.
