French designer Christian Louboutin shoes are the choice for A-listers and fashionistas. He talks to the "CBS This Morning" co-hosts about his red-soled footwear and his fashion empire.
I have a few pairs from him, all terrible to wear although I am used to heels and have slim feet almost made for Italian made shoes. But most of his designs I actually find a bit on the tacky side.
No not disrespectful. They actually know him. Their friends. They go to the same parties and villas. They've known him for years. So they can talk over each other, as friends tend to do and not be, as you say, disrespectful. Remember, everyone at that table are multi-millionaires.
SO much time, money, and effort goes into a single pair of shoes. The pricetag accounts for all of that, quality, and craftsmanship. Beautiful shoes! True works of art. Then again, this is coming from a shoe-lover bias. Some want Birkins and others want a Rolex or their dream car.
Yes but maybe he don't do it like this purses made by mexican indian trive get pay about $15 and he sold for $$1500 eldiariomexicano.com/2018/07/artesanas-mayas-reciben-238-pesos-por-bolsas-que-vende-en-28-mil/
My friend work in fashion ( Finance department ) most of price is inflated and it’s not due to cost of goods sold. High fashion items are priced like painting. It's up to the artist.
I just wish the shoes could come with the red rubber sole protectors on them instead of me having to send them off to get it done. I hate to see the red scraped off the bottom...
why are they so aggressive. that's what women wear heels for to look sexy...if you don't like it don't wear it. I love heels, but if I'm not comfortable I'm not wearing them...they're expensive because people will pay for them. notice no one o. the panel is wearing Target or Walmart brands...😒😒
Y Lomas but target and Walmart heels don’t have the same level of craftsmanship as Louboutins. It’s a long process of making sure everything things is perfect form sole to heel
Jackline Staats hey, there’s no “need” to shower daily, have carpets, iron your clothes, eat sensible meals, be faithful or treat people with respect. Living is about having fun and enjoying your life. So you enjoy bread and water or gruel for your meals and wear sack cloth, *I shall continue to spend my money on my beautiful things* which includes several pairs of Louboutains and one of his clutch bags.
African Girl lol I have one collecting dust my Christians cost $1,782 its a high top shoe has studs all around the shoes with black fur around the top of the ankle it’s all white too and the bottom is red obviously
I own 5 pair and all 5 pair hurt my feet...fortunately for me, they all were a gift. I wouldn't purchase a pair, not because their expensive but they are uncomfortable for me. However they are beautiful and they look great on...but you'll have them off within 4 hrs of putting them on.
@dee nice really? Im thingking to get 1 sneakers but checking 1st....if its comfy or not!!! My previous heels was hurt

Torture comes with a price. A man dictating torture to women and people literally buy it. How is this different from Chinese foot binding? Is he a genius or are women stupid...
Saida Agourram fashion is painful... you have to fight for everything.. weightless... muscle tone... getting that sexy figure or making that bold statement in something that shapes you for an audience. It’s about attention not a bragging right.. trendsetting!
I don't know...something seems very sinister about designing a product that intentionally puts your customer in pain-and having them pay a fortune to do it. And have them think they are better off for having done it. Reminds me of Japanese foot binding
It's all about practice. A ballerina would not have found pointe shoes comfy, but eventually it's easy for her to hold her weight only on her toes. The same applies to heels. Practice will equal comfort and ease.
No ballerina would walk around on the tip of her toes for hours on end...her career would be over in a minute. What's more, even ballet shoes have a toebox built in to make it more comfortable for them for the times they do go on point, unlike Louboutins, which offer no relief, just trauma for the wearer's feet..."No man loves his fetters, be they made of gold"...
huberfloover Pointe shoes are often worn with added bandages, cotton, or toe pads. One can buy things from the shoe stores to make Louboutins (or any heels) more comfy. Also, my point wasn't that ballerinas spend all day en pointe. Heels put on much less stress than that and people don't need to wear steep pitch heels everyday. But when they do, if the sizing is correct, they can wear steep pitch heels with ease, including Louboutins. It's also proper to buy the right type of shoe. Some women's toes don't fit perfectly in all toebox shapes/lengths. These shoes certainly aren't sneakers, but they don't have to be painful either. I mean, you literally compared them to foot binding, a forced practice that prevented feet from growing properly. These are just intermediate heels meant for those who know what they're doing and have strong calves and balance. I personally have much less pain walking in heels than in flat shoes and sneakers without proper arches. But it came from proper fit and practice.
There's nothing natural about the form of Louboutins, and what's more is health of the wearer's spine, leg muscles, and more over time was the last thing on their mind when they made them. They made them for pure profit, and those willing to sacrifice their health in youth to suffer excruciating pain in their later years are welcome to make that choice. Foot binded people didn't always have much choice and certainly didn't pay through the roof for it, but one will never go broke making the silliest things for people to buy to try to impress other people
I find his shoes comfortable to walk in but that could also be because of how my foot is actually shaped. I haven't tried the so Kate collection but I've had other shoes like the follies lace, simple pumps, pigalle follies, Follie Draperia, cross Blake and gela davis and they're pretty comfy! Gela Davis is one of his most comfortable shoe!
And then X years later the same women have serious health issues with not only their feet but spine, muscles, you name it depending on their body, complain about the consequences of their own actions 😒 And then waste some more money to ease the more often than not irreversible results of their own actions. Very "intelligent" I must say.
you have to choose the right model and right size. it means going to the store amd trying on many models in different sizes. then there is a 3 to 4 week break in procedure, so the shoes can stretch to your feet. and finally you have to learn ti walk in them properly. 99% plus women have no clue how to properly walk in heels or how to train the foot for walking in heels.
+louis cyfer I agree! I've walked in Loubs very easily but then again I wear flats, heels, platforms everything and make sure my feet adjust to every type of shoe. Confidence is key. Sometimes you just fake it till you make it ;)
saroasha engineer confidence is important, but it can not make up for proper mechanics. can't really fake it to proper mechanics, but you have the right idea. wearing all kinds of shoes and making sure your feet adjust is foot training. having your foot trained to handle the stretch that comes with the pitch of high heels is paramount to being able to wear them comfortably.
I agree. I bought a pair on eBay ... used and they were not comfy at all. I thought it was just my foot. But other brands are sexier and not so expensive.
But why so much time into the design and not accommodate comfort. For that price anyways. It doesn’t make sense and it’s inconsiderate. I like comfort. I tried uncomfortable in my years of going to church. Now my feet are paying for it. No thanks.
I thought their questions were insightful and to the point. The man makes shoes which are pricey and trendy, yet tremendously hazardous to those who dare ( and can afford ) to wear them, so he was asked the tough questions we all want to know.
So he says a shoe should make a women feel good well why them damn Kate’s and pigalles are so dangerously painful! Good questions from the cast and genius idea making different shades of nude
This man designs beautiful sexy shoes and his first purpose aren't to ensure comfortability. However, he does have a few Atelier's so if you love his shoes and have the discretionary income, just get them custom made. Then they'll be as comfortable as you can get them as they'd be designed for your feet.
I couldn't wear them because I'm a 4x back surgery pt. and the elevation arches my back painfully, but I bet I'd rock these beauties from a chair like a supermodel! 😗⚜
Why didn’t he tell the truth... Tina turner first talked about him on Operah...then it became more popular... he was invited later on down line... his assistant went on the operah show and explained that she had a red nail polish bottle that was opened next to a pair of shoes that the were packing and was rushing to a customer. The nail polish has spilled and ended under the one of the shoe. They didn’t wouldn’t have a chance to remake the sole so he decided to paint the pairs soles red. The customer and her friends raved about so they decided to run with it
I wear a size 11 and wide. Yes you heard right! So I look for comfort when I buy shoes. I didnt wish on this choice, trust me. I have a hard time buying shoes so I find them online a lot of times because in stores I can't find my size. I love the concept of the red sole. They are beautiful! I can't buy them because he does'nt carry size 11 and wide. Bummer for me!
Actually I was introduced to Louboutin's shoes by JLo who did that song a few years back. Shoes like that aren't meant to be worn ALL day but only for a few hours.
Hahahha I will keep my money but I have seen really better shoes for 120 💶 and super sexy too so to the rich In joy and to all the normal people in joy to
I’ve never done heels. I’m 5/10. So, that would be weird and totally off for me. But, Even if I were shorter and rich I wouldn’t put that kind of money down on some shoes. I’m just frugal that way.
Bullshit. I have a pair of comfy cheap heels which look very stylish. They have an extra padding on the inside which serves as a "shock-absorber". So why the hell can't Lubetin do the same thing?! It's easy. Plus, the soles on my hells are firm as hell, they don't peel off like the red soles on lubes do. And yes, I'm pronouncing it like this intentionally.
The quality not the same at all I personally would rather spend my money on shoes that have a higher quality than shoes from lets say target. All my shoes are above at least $100 and I own Jimmys and Louboutin you can tell a true difference in the material and just they are their own work of art but I understand not everyone can do this.
So, the reason why his shoes are so expensive is that he likes expensive wines? One pair takes 5 days to make, 5 x 300$ = 1500$. Now i understand! Still, the reason that made me search for high heel shoes is not yet understood: Why are women wearing such ridiculous self torturing items?
Red, I don't wear red, I dont have anything red. I can't walk in high heels. I have absolutely no arches at all. My feet are completely flat. The last doctor I saw was shocked by my feet. I experience pain all the time. Would love to be able to wear shoes like these when going out.
A shoe, heels to be more specific....have to be comfortable!.....A discerning shoe maker would know that. I refuse to wear a pair of heels where the heels are so painful...that the actuality of the heels is ...." the heels are wearing me and not me wearing them ".... when I wear a classy beautiful pair of heels....I want to be the wearing them..... and not the other way around!!!
