Hearing “you don’t understand Christianity “ is absolute gold: reading the Theology as if it’s a book for dummies. And yet, people who sign up to be believers do not know more than half of what it teaches: blameless male god, ancient world punishments, and end time mythology out of a cult practice. This isn’t believable at all; just manipulative, damaging, and heinous.

Liking this. Has a certain purity to it. Unlike humans. Firstly, I’m non-theistic (mixing it up there) I think some Christian’s different view of original sin is that humans are integrally sinful, by that I mean, that we could not exist without it, at all. Like there’s no version of beings made by a god that could be perfect. It’s impossible to make a perfect being. Whereas non-Christian’s think original sin means we made mistakes, and continued to make them generally and thus we’re all just generally evil thus we all need general forgiveness. I think some people are self-conscious and riddled with guilt and have thus anthropomorphized a god that can forgive everyone and grant permanent residence in paradise to make themselves feel good enough to get through life. Anyone who doesn’t buy into that is tough and can handle that death is a natural finale for a difficult sometimes enjoyable life.

Come on peoples of earth. This is so obvious and right in everyone's face when they look at it. Christianity: This is the 'Romeo & Juliet' of stories. Christians are in love with their stories. The bible is the equivalent to the Shakespearian novel of two love birds. The Drama, Romance and the Horrors of the stories in the bible. The bible is NOT about truth. (Even though it does have 'some' truths) Cain of the Adam & Eve Cain and Abel had a 'WIFE!' This makes no sense, and we know there are only 2 possibilities here... 😭Noah's ark? Oh please, back to reality. Then there's the miracles... or the lack of. Peter supposedly had just enough 'faith' to walk on water and then fell. (He didn't even get back up.) Jesus said, " He who believes in me..." Still no miracles. The Christian bible and another I do not speak of, Makes NO SENSE. But it's a great anthology of dramatic, romantic and horrific stories.

After leaving Islam, I became a hardcore atheist and thought I had everything figured out. With a science degree and surrounded by people who didn’t think God was necessary, I saw religions as just made up stories. If something couldn’t be measured or proven, I didn’t think it existed. Over time, I realised there’s more to life than what we can measure. Concepts like love, morality, and consciousness are deeply real yet difficult to quantify. This realisation started to shift my perspective. The paradigms I learned at university, like Lawrence Krauss’s idea of something coming from nothing or the simplistic view of human evolution, now seem inadequate to me. I started to see the world in more than just black and white, acknowledging that some things are beyond our current understanding. I chose Christianity because I believe there’s enough historical evidence and testimonies to support it. For eg, the historical existence of Jesus is well-documented by various sources, including non-Christian ones like Tacitus and Josephus. The resurrection, I admit is hard to believe, is supported by multiple eyewitness accounts and has been a major part of Christian faith from the beginning. Here’s an important point: many historical events we accept as fact today have far less supporting evidence than the resurrection. Consider this: we believe in the existence of Socrates primarily through the writings of his students, Plato and Xenophon. Also, the life and conquests of Alexander the Great are known through a handful of sources written centuries after his death. Yet, the resurrection of Jesus is attested by numerous contemporary accounts, and it dramatically transformed the lives of his followers, many of whom were willing to die for their belief. In fact, the twelve apostles of Jesus faced brutal deaths for their faith. It’s hard to believe that twelve people would willingly endure such suffering for something they knew to be a lie. People might die for a mistaken belief, but it’s highly improbable that so many would die for something they knew to be false. Miracles are noteworthy because they defy the laws of physics and can’t be explained by science. That’s the very purpose of a miracle-it’s supposed to be something that doesn’t ordinarily happen. I believe miracles can happen, and there are countless testimonies of people who have experienced them. Try to look at both sides. Don’t just parrot what other atheists say; understand the counterarguments from experienced Christian apologists as well. The world isn't so black and white and there’s more to life than just material things. The spiritual world and experiences like near-death experiences or profound personal transformations are also part of our reality This comment won’t change your mind and I understand because I was once there too. But I hope it plants a seed for when you encounter something that challenges your current worldview. Consider the possibility that there is more to reality than what we can currently understand or measure. The universe is vast and complex, and perhaps there's room for both science and faith.

Your wall of text proves that you don't know as much about christianity as you think. No, the gospel accounts are not contemporary. They were written decades after the events, by anonymous people who clearly *weren't* the people they're named after. As for Tacitus & Josephus, the parts that aren't blatant christian interpolations are just them reporting what christians told them. No, we don't know that many of his followers were willing to die for their belief. Most of the apostles disappear completely from both the bible and history shortly after the crucifixion story. Nor is there any reason to believe their belief wasn't mistaken. Also, "profound personal transformations" are attributed to every religion, and to non-religious worldviews. That they happen doesn't prove anything "spiritual". Yes, there are things currently beyond our understanding. And you know what? Every time we come to understand something, it turns out not to be magic.

@@jursamaj Yeah, I understand your skepticism, and it’s good to question things. Scholars and apologists who are deeply versed in these topics have debated these issues extensively. The dating of the Gospels, the authorship questions, and the reliability of historical sources like Tacitus and Josephus are all subjects of ongoing scholarly inquiry. It’s true that the Gospels weren’t written during Jesus’ lifetime and their authorship is debated, there are reasons why many scholars find it plausible that they were based on earlier oral traditions and eyewitness accounts. The debate around these topics is complex and far from conclusive, so I don’t think we will achieve that in some random RU-vid comments section. I think it’s worth looking into the other side for yourself. As for the martyrdom of early Christians and personal transformations, while these are found in heaps of religious and non-religious contexts, their significance in the early Christian community is notable and deserving of serious consideration. It’s okay if you don’t believe; everyone’s journey is different. I just wanted to share that belief in God or Christianity isn’t as dismissible as it might seem at first glance. There are compelling arguments supporting these beliefs that are often overlooked or dismissed in atheist discussions, which can sometimes resemble dogmatic stances. Having been in a similar place, I understand where many atheists are coming from. I believe there’s room for more open-minded dialogue that respects differing viewpoints. I hope one day you might see the validity in these perspectives as well. Thanks for reading my wall of text x

Most likely someone really existed who is now the core of the Jesus-myth. But this someone was nothing like the Jesus of the bible. 4. We don't have a single attest from any eyewitness. We have stories (gospels) written by anonymous authors who claim that there have been eyewitnesses. Claiming there were eyewitnesses is not the same as actually hearing from this people. 5. Eyewitness accounts are the most unreliable kind of proof. That's the reason we don't use eyewitnesses in science. Eyewitnesses in a time where the most ridiculous superstition was ubiquitous is not proof; it's just a joke. (At the same time people saw Zeus and hundreds of other gods all the time.) 5. a. As you said we have writings form Socrates' students. We don't have any writings from anyone who actually met or knew Jesus. b. Whether Socrates existed or not does not change a thing. His teachings are important because of their ideas, not because of who had these ideas. But if Jesus did not exist the whole house of card collapses. c. About Alexander you're just disingenuous. We have various historians describing his life, we have statues, we have coins, etc. Not one historian thinks Alexander might not have existed. There are whole books written just about the facts we know of his life. All the books about Jesus' life have one general idea: We don't really know anything about Jesus, but we know that most claims about his life are wrong. 6. The Sanskrit word for Truth (since this channel is titled "The Wonderful Truth" is Satyam. Pronounced Suth-yum. The ultimate aim of Hinduism is the pursuit of Satyam. The cardinal rule is Satyam Éva (Ever) Jayaté which means that the Truth shall forever prevail. Hinduism is very much aware of the need for allegorical mystery myths for the "average Joe." There were/are outer myths like that of Jesus being crucified, buried, rising on the third day. Whereas the Inner Mystery is modeled after many dying-resurrecting Gods before him. The inner mystery is that our ego must die, and be "resurrected" by the Inner/Greater Consciousness within us. It is called the Atman (Aath-mun) in Sanskrit. It is also called Isha (Eesha), almost identical to Iesous, from which "Jesus" arose due to a German mistranslation. Iesous is the Christos, the Christ, within us waiting to be awakened and prevail. Christianity is just one of many mystery myths of the world. But the Catholic Church has stated that it is a categorical fact and has gone about the massacres of countless people who would not accept the gruesome outer myth. Catholics are still out there in India and Africa trying to convert people with all kinds of enticements like a great education and college degree. Oh, the Protestants are doing the same. Anyone remember the thirty year war from 1618 to 1648? It was a huge war between Catholics and Protestants, and one third the entire population of Europe was decimated. Millions died. All in the name of the "right" interpretation of the Christian scriptures? The madness never ends. The Hindu equivalent deity to the Christos is Krishna. Born of a virgin in a prison. The reigning evil King calls for the killing of male children just like Herod did. To conclude: Christianity is just a remake of similar mystery myths dating back thousands of years. The current exodus is that of Christians leaving Church by the millions. Teach them the inner mystery myths or the Church will perish.

It's a story. It's fictional. You'd have to ask the people who made up the story why they wrote the character in that particular way. Everyone from the original authors onwards is trying to create meaning here. But because the story is cryptic to begin with, it has about as much value as trying to read tea leaves. For my part, I find the story to be mostly an attempt at emotional manipulation. This is very different from the "story" of, say, quantum field theory. We still express it narratively, but its meaning is deeply grounded in evidence. Even the story of the "Boy Who Cried Wolf" is saying something specific about the relationship between actions and consequences. There's room for poetic meaning also. I'm thinking of "Finnegan's Wake" as an example, where it's clear that meaning is very densely, very deliberately encoded, and yet the device of writing in this way liberates an unconscious expression of meaning as well. I'm not particularly interested in the book, because it doesn't speak meaningfully to me. But I get that it has that capacity for others. I don't think the Christian Bible rises to this level of literacy. Its few moments of pithy folk wisdom are too often badly conflated with delusion.

It speaks of during the end times. All of Catholicism's rituals are occultic including the worship of Mary, which is the Babylonian Semiramis worship. As Nimrod's power grew among the people, they began worshiping him as the 'God of Forces' Daniel 11:38. There is no direct reference in history to the name of the God of Forces but there is to the Goddess of Forces, Semiramis, Nimrod's wife, making Nimrod the God of Forces. Through these two Satan crafted a religion that controlled the people by establishing themselves, in the people's eyes, as the only way to heaven. Their followers were required to enter booths frequently to confess their sins to their priests. When a person confesses their deepest and darkest failings to another person of supposed authority, that person gains power over the confessor. This is how the power over the people was applied, keeping them afraid of not being forgiven by the Harlot priests. and burning in eternal fire. Hebrews 2:15 KJV "And deliver them who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." That is what kept the people tied to this harlot religion-fear. Secondly, the followers had prayers they were required to repeat constantly in order to keep them into the mindset of bowing to Nimrod and Semiramis. Statues of Nimrod and Semiramis were everywhere so that they were in constant view of the people, always in their lives. There were many other rites to be adhered to for the reason of controlling every aspect of the followers' lives. One of the most powerful was the invention of what today is known as money, and with it a system where there was an assigned money value for everything. Satan is also known as the God of Traffic. The assigned money value of the people's work now was slightly higher than the money value needed to 'BUY' the necessities of life, keeping the people poor and powerless, so that this religion now controlled the people spiritually and materially. Nimrod dies, Semiramis gives birth to a baby boy, claims to have been a virgin while pregnant, claims the baby boy is the reincarnated Nimrod. The people stop calling her the Goddess of Forces and begin worshiping her as the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven. Thus establishing what history and the bible calls the Babylonian/Chaldean Mystery Religion. "Mystery Babylon the Great, Mother of harlots and abominations of the World." Revelations Chapter 17. Thessalonians 2:7: "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work...). The people began making statues of Semiramis and child Nimrod (Mother and Child), as part of their worship to her. In the book of Daniel there is a dream the Babylonian ruler has where he sees a statue with a golden head, silver shoulders, brass midsection, iron legs, and iron and clay feet. This is explained as being the five empire ages that mankind was to experience into the future. Babylon, Media Persia, Greece, Rome, and the last one after Rome called the Neo-Roman empire age. This again is proof that the bible is truly the word of God in that it foretold/prophesied all five empire ages man was to experience. That in the third one there would be a great leader that would be killed and four others would rise up to lead but would not be as successful. This, as history shows us, refers to the Greek empire age (the third after Babylon), and the leader called Alexander the Great. He died and four of his generals divided Greece into four parts and tried to rule. None were as successful as Alexander. (Daniel 11:3,4) As the Mystery Religion traveled through these empire ages, it clothed itself in the costumes of those specific empires. Semiramis and Nimrod changed names with the empires, along with the lesser gods that were absorbed along the way. Semiramis worship took on many names throughout time: The ancient German: Hertha with Child; the Scandinavian Disa with Child; Egypt: Isis and the infant Osiris, or Horus on his mother's lap; India; Devaki and Krishna and also Isi and Iswara. In Asia they were Cybele and Deoius. in pagan Rome they were Fortuna and Jupiter Puer, or the boy Jupiter. In Greece it was Ceres the Great Mother with the babe at her breast and halos around their heads, Irene the Goddess of Peace with the boy Plutus, and Aphrodite with Eros; Tibet, China, and Japan called her Shing Moo, Holy mother with a child in her arms and halos around their heads. The Norse Goddess Frigga and her son Balder. Assyrians worship Isthar and Tammuz; Phoenicia worshiped Astarte and Baal. The pagan fertility goddess as Diana. Also the Virgin of Guadalupe, Aphrodite, Athena, Gaea, Hera, Hestia, Rhea, Venus, Minerva, Terra, Juno, Vesta, Ops, Astarte, Ashteroth, Ishtar, Allilah, Laksjmi, Etc As this Mystery traveled through time it assimilated the pagan religions of every age; the cutting down of a tree and decorating it with silver during the winter solstice for the worship of Baal, the carving of wooden eggs, and decorating real eggs for the worship of Isthar of Egypt that came down from heaven in an egg and landed in the Nile river. In every change of ages there was a change of names and costumes to fit the new area of central authority (Capitals as Athens during the Greek age, and Rome during the Roman age.). The gods of Greece/Babylon changed names and costumes and became the gods of Rome. Nahum 3:4. Nineveh's end. "The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.” Jeremiah 44:19. Judah’s abominations. “And we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our men”. Ezekiel 8:14. Israel's abominations. "Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north, and, behold, there sat a woman weeping for Tammuz." Jeremiah 7: 17-19 "Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The Children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the Queen of Heaven, and to pour out drink offerings onto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. do they provoke me to anger saith the Lord, do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 1 Samuel 7:3 "And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

Where to start? First of all Catholicism is not Christianity. Please read the book 'The Two Babylons' to see it true identity as the Babylonian/Chaldean Mystery Religion. Revelation 17:9 KJV "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." Rome has historically been known as the City of Seven Mountains. Secondly: PROOF FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD: You walk into a room to get a drink of water, as you approach the fountain you pass a pool table and notice the balls are scattered around the table’s surface. You get the drink. As you turn to leave you notice the balls are now in the familiar racked triangular pattern, in order, and facing forward. What do you think? “Why did the balls move themselves like this? No. Pool balls are inert, lifeless, they cannot think or move themselves. For an inert element to move, a force external to it must exert itself against it to cause it to move. For this external force to move inert elements into patterns it must know how to 'manipulate', and know what a pattern is. There would have to be a consciousness (thought process) in the external force that manipulated the pool balls into this pattern, a thinking power moved them. This is the foundational question to our existence: How can inert lifeless matter demonstrate intentional goal oriented behavior randomly? The answer is obviously it cannot. The inert lifeless atom is the building block of the physical universe that is moving in patterns and systems that are not just predictable and repeating (planetary orbits), but remain within the narrow parameters of this one universal order model. This requires there to be an external force manipulating these atoms, one that possesses a consciousness. A thinking power is controlling the atoms of the universe-God. Because this power is coming from a place we cannot measure or see, and because it must exist for the atoms to be behaving in this way, we have to now conclude that there is an invisible or spiritual dimension to the reality of our existence. It is not inaccurate to refer to this dimension as spiritual due to the fact that it possesses a consciousness, and the ability to project power. John 4:24: "God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.". Genesis 1:1: "In the beginning God created heaven and the earth." Hebrews 11:3: "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen are not made of things that do appear." The table is made of something that does not appear so it is made of something invisible, or too small to see. If invisible the table would be invisible, it is not. We know it is too small to see-atoms. The Bible has been teaching us about atoms for 2000 years, they are too small to appear. Genesis 2:7: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground (atoms),,and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit), and man became a living soul.” This is why a person can think (consciousness) within their inert atom-made body, and have the ability to manipulate inert elements into patterns (build things). The body isn’t thinking. 1 Corinthians 3:16: "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?". Ecclesiastes 3:21: “Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upwards, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?" Genesis: 6:17 "And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die." James 2:26: "For the body without the spirit is dead." The creatures of the world also have a spirit so they can think from within their inert atom-made bodies and manipulate inert elements into patterns (dens, nests). The spirit moves the body like the hand moves the glove. The whole of life on this planet, in the physical realm, is expressed in physical forms made of inert atoms that cannot think for themselves so they must be inhabited by a spirit of life to be active (alive). The fact that they 'grow' shows the hand of God at work. Growing is increasing mass and duplicating physical form and internal processes, not possible for inert lifeless material to do. Even plants have circulatory systems within them, movements that they, being composed by inert atoms, cannot muster themselves. Their roots bring up water from the soil, and their leaves produce carbohydrates through photosynthesis, using the sun for their sustenance. This entire ecosystem is a demonstration of God's omniscient power in action, as is the whole universe. Ephesians 4:6: "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." But the time will come when the old earth will be destroyed to make way for the new, it is called the "Day of the Lord."
