Worked for a company years ago and they use to give good bonuses until one year they hired a new GM and the bonus dropped to almost nothing. The GM even had the nerve to tell us " look how much I got for you" and we all told him how much we use to get before him being there. The last straw was when the owner and his 2 sons all came up driving new personal company trucks. Needless to say our production hit a all time low after that. A couple months later they held a meeting with employees and had the nerve to ask why production was suffering. They lost alot of good hard working people not long after that.
Worked at a company like this once. Got a $200 Christmas Bonus, nice. Then the owner's son decided that we should all chip in and help him get his Dad a cruise to the Bahamas for two weeks, we just had to all chip in $500 for the tickets. Yeah, no.
My buddy's boss said they couldn't afford X mass bonuses next thing you know the wife pulls up in a brand New Benz (I hired on in late Jan) my buddy told me oh shit she's driving up in our bonuses
Yep same here. Union Sheetmetal worker. With the same company for 14 or 15 years and a few the guys longer. The shop foreman had been there since the day the company started. The owner always gave us an extra 40 hour equivalent check (highly taxed as it was a bonus). He retired and his son goes from estimates and head supervisor to the owner of the company. With no notice the 1st Christmas he is in charge he pulls up in a brand new top of the line truck with the bed full of Christmas hams. Calls us all over and has us take one. That was our new bonus under him. Karma struck him down though. He couldn't run a company for shit. 4 years after he took over, the company hits rock bottom and goes bankrupt. He was bad with cash and worse with his employees. No we shouldn't expect that bonus but when you are making the company millions of dollars, well.
One of the best pranks I ever pulled. We got a 25 dollar gift certificate as a Christmas bonus. We were sitting around the break table and I mentioned how I appreciated the fifty dollars. One guy marched right into the boss's office. The boss said I was an ass hole. In my defense my dad said pick something and be good at it. I picked ass hole.
Well done sir. I aspire to be the ass h0le you have become, but alas, I’m merely a ass…… I have not achieved the “hole”status In my pursuit of ass-ery.
I actually worked for a business that pulled the $50-bonus-$50-deduction trick. Called it an "insurance payment mistake" that they were "fixing" after "finding it in November". Except it was a $250 bonus, $172 insurance payment mistake. And the state Dept. of Labor very kindly told them to provide evidence before a mediation board resulting in that insurance payment being returned to all of us when they realized "the insurance mistake was actually a clerical error in their accounting department", the actual statement they gave a govt entity with litigation powers. Union up, boys. The company ain't your friend. Merry Christmas and this video hit too close to home.
We got 6 weeks of pay as a bonus this year, and the owner said to not be surprised if next year we get 8-10 weeks bonus pay. You don't need a union. You just need to vet employers as if you were going to marry them and raise kids with them. Have standards and don't settle.
I feel the pain Ricky, our firm gave the engineers $1000 bonuses this year and I saw $637 deposited into my account. Bullshit taxes are always there to screw over a good thing.
You pay for the taxes now and get a refund later, or get full now and pay taxes at quarter or end of year. It sucks, but the taxman will not be ignored.
Omg 637 dollars of free extra money. The audacity, why it obvious you worked hard for and at your job, stop for a second and be grateful. Think about the single mom that works at Walmart and has never gotten a bonus
@@andog6092 that money is NOT free. There's lots of blood sweat and tears behind it, maybe some OSHA violations and depending on the job, lots of away time from the family due to OT and out of state work missing out on many children milestones and time behind that bonus.
My company "forgot" to invite me to the Xmas party. I was at my job site early that day working while everyone else was getting gifts and free breakfast at the main office. I found out the next day when I saw all the party trash in the dumpster.
I hear that. I worked nights for YEars at a newspaper's back end packaging dept. and other blue collar stuff. Right next to the pressmen, the front office people Really liked to both hold parties that "Well ya'll are always invited to them! It ain't are fault they're at 10am or we don't work hard to tell you the times!" as well as throw out the food or make enough for just them. My manager was a good soul who stood up for us. His bitching made them either change up times to be slightly more vampire friendly, host two for both shifts, or have enough made to be left over for the night crews that night. Same people who when the first depression, the great recession in '08 were complaining vociferously about there being little to no christmas bonuses that year... "Yeah? You get holiday bonuses around here? Us in the back MIGHT get a 20 dollar gift card for a Kroger or Walmart, and those were deals between the two businesses to possibly pay off stuff so, Keep complaining about no bonuses this year... My violin weeps."
The company: thanks to our wonderful staff for all their hard work. The company earnings up twenty five percent! Here is a nice little gift for each of you. Employees: we got a candy bar and a twenty five dollar Target card? Company: ungrateful bastards!
The worst Christmas bonus I ever got was a Subway sandwich and a 2 HR. Slide show of the "Bosses " new island in the Sandwich Islands . That's when every single job became O.T. ! Every Job . Taking out the trash ! Yuppers that could take 5 hrs. Following Johnny Cash's" one piece at a time "
Just yesterday I saw these videos they brought me much needed laughter Merry Christmas to u and please go easy on Ricky Mr safety man give him a $1000 bonus along with paid sick leave
Merry Christmas brother. Former boilermakera local 27 and current maintenance tech at merrill steel !! We all love your content! Keep up the work. Side note .. your tool board looks great !
They used to do Christmas bonuses here, in addition to annual review bonuses at the end of calendar year Q1. Then they eliminated Christmas bonuses in favor of creating a new formula to calculate individual bonuses with criteria based on three factors: Overall Company Sales, Overall Division Sales, and Number of years employed. That lasted ONE year and quickly disappeared because of how much they had to pay out. The result was a "token" bonus for hourly and double that for salary (non-management). We all know that managers were striking it rich because within 30 days there were noticeable NEW PERSONAL CARS being driven to work by management.
The company I work at calculates it by hours worked during the year, new worker/probationary/new hire/full time is considered, overtime hours put in is usually where some of us make off like bandits. The guys who barely put in the minimum cry why did we get so much more but then realize we put in an exrta 500-900 hours over the year above them, we always point out they are welcome to join us on mornings/evenings/weekends but they sputter and decline real quick, they just want the pay for doing nothing.
I've been with my company for 26 years and got nothing except the knowledge that every other employee in my dept got a christmas bonus from 300-925 except me me because as my boss said "my situation is different" oh yeah? How so?
You tell exactly how it is I can relate to this situation this is exactly what happened at my company but man this is hilarious and dead on shout out from Florida
My dad used to run cranes and other big machines and honestly this is exactly how him and the guys on the site used to talk to each other. Love you Ricky, Roscoe, Pablo, and Boss man 🤣
I shared this with a co-worker this morning as a joke. I walked into work to hear the company sent $50 gift cards for Xmas bonuses in the mail and didn't arrive until the 28th... IRONY I LOVE IT!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Having been on both sides of the desk, labor and management, I concede that Christmas bonuses make for happier workers and that can be seen in how they interact with each other but don't expect them to be grateful because it's never enough. As a GM, I can hardly complain about my Christmas bonus. Heck I had the authority to give myself a raise every three to six months. Only in America?!
I got a corporate email wishing me and my family happy holidays and a heartfelt thanks for helping the company make record profits for the fourth year in a row. I didn't even get enrolled in the jelly of the month club...
Been there. I used to work for a company that had MANDATORY monthly meetings to tell us how well the company was doing. No raises or bonuses just gift card drawings you had to claim on your check
Lmao F'in Roscoe... I know some people with heavy machinery, and ain't none of them got the money to afford it lol. Probably came up missing from a job site lmao. Merry Christmas y'all! God bless, and y'all stay safe out there!
Man this seems right on the money. I remember when we got 100 dollar bill and a turkey at lay off time. Like wow! Now I work for a company that splits up 20% of their profit and give it back. Serious stacks for bonuses now 👍
"That's why we have insurance! We pay a very high premium for the insurance that we have." I work as an underwriter for an insurance company and this killed me.
I got a $50 Christmas bonus too Ricky. I also had the exact same thought roll through my head. BTW I'm only 19 seconds into the video and I've already givin it a thumbs up. In fact I wish I could just tap that like button like it's at a party with pablo. it could run like ice cold beer... and Mexicans.
Merry Christmas and remember, paying that rental protection plan always pays off when an excavator just you know goes missing Ps tell Pablo I said Feliz Navidad
I worked for a company that used to give us a turkey for Christmas. Yes, the ones that were discounted after Thanksgiving. The last place I worked has laid us off twice now just before Thanksgiving so that damned turkey doesn't seem so bad now.
It's funny though, the company's still had a good year but phuck the men and women who made it possible. I feel bad for everyone who either didn't get one or got a slap in the face Xmas bonuses. We're taxed to death on everything you buy or even look at. Just wanna wish #BreadstickRickytheboss and family a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY New Year. TO ALL OF YOU WHO KEEP AMERICA RUNNING MAY 2022 BE A PROSPEROUS AND BLESSED YEAR FOR YOUR AND YOUR FAMILIES. 🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅 🎄🎄❄❄❄🎅❄❄❄🎄🎄
I was an intern at an engineering company for 2 months and I ended up getting a bonus on my 6th week there because we had tripled our profit expectations for that quarter. $500 that I immediately spent on a collapsible stock for my PTR.
Just had a similar discussion with my boss. Our Christmas bonus this year was 1/2 of last year's, despite the rise in cost of living. Not to mention the increased workload, increased profits, increased flights through our station (aircraft mechanic), and many of these flights being contracts that pay 2-5x what our "normal" contracts pay. I would be willing to let it slide if we actually got proper equipment and more ramp vehicles that weren't being held together with bailing wire and duct tape. Total bullshit
That's exactly what my Christmas bonus was. They put it in my check, taxed me, then pulled $50 out of my check to give me in a damn visa gift card. Should of just left it in my check and told me Merry Christmas.
Damn I worked in a small warehouse that did about $10 million in revenue annually and Christmas season alone was probably 1/3rd of our total revenue. Weekends and overtime was mandatory. First year we got 100 work hours as a bonus, second year we got 250 work hours. I only made $17.50/hr but I’ll tell you that bonus was nice for Christmas. Shame they paid poorly but gave you a lump for Christmas.
