I actually thrive more in the winter, and I get more depressed in the summer! Winter to me is cozy, slow, and I love when we can just stay inside and craft or watch movies, or read books. Summer for me is so chaotic and bright and over stimulating. I wonder if there's a diagnosable summer seasonal depression.

I thrive from October -February. Spring brings on allergies and Summer heat almost kills me. Why anyone would want to live down South, I’ll never understand. It’s no big deal to shovel snow a few times. What’s the difference between being holed up at home because it’s too hot to go out OR being cozy at home when it’s really cold? I always say “You can bundle up for the cold, but there is only so much you can TAKE OFF without getting arrested.”

Amy - cozy is the perfect word to describe your home. I’d like to know some information about the trees you have in the dining room and parlor. I’m guessing they measure 5 to 6’. Where did you buy them? Real trees have reached the price level I don’t feel comfortable with so I would like to check into an artificial one. Depends on what I'm cleaning! For my stone counters, I use 1:1 ratio of rubbing alcohol and water. For glass and windows or wiping other surfaces, 1:1 ratio of water and vinegar. I use those things most often.
