I feel called out lmao. Yes, it was a hard decision between Futaba and Sumi but in the end I went for Sumi. Her scene during culture festival stole my heart

Exactly what I did in my first Royal playthrough and it was worth it

I did it because my love for Yusuke and my sadness for Akechi were too strong to fake date any of the girls lmao.... the 'family' scenes with Sojira are always really cute, lvoe how he takes all the boys to dinner for Valentines too and all. I don't like romance too much anyway, so I'm happy we still get other scenes instead!

I'm on my first playthrough of the game right now and feeling hopelessly lost on who to pick for my romance option. I'm stuck between Makoto, Kasumi and Futaba and I just don't know what to do lmao. I kinda want to go for Kasumi, but her confidant level maxed out at 5 and I heard it unlocks again later on, but...apparently you just miss out on some romantic events like Christmas dates if you stay single the entire time until Kasumi gets unlocked. I just finished securing my route to Sae's treasure and am now in the days before the gang wants to send out the calling card (so no spoilers about what happens after that, please) but I'm just really unsure on what to do now, because Makoto is at rank 8 now and the next time we hang out I'm gonna have to either commit or give up on her altogether. Futaba I really like too, but she kinda feels more like a little sister than a romance option. And Kasumi is great, but I'd have to give up on scenes like this (and as much as I love this game, I'm not sure I can bring myself to replay it anytime soon, considering how long it is lmao).

I think either works pretty well depending on what path you decide to go tbh. In the very least it is canon that Futaba has feelings for Joker if you get up to 9 in her confidant events and if you do choose to romance her I think they make it work pretty well after all the character development she had. If you don’t choose to romance her it’s also feels pretty natural. Some of the confidant events don’t lean into the romance enough and some lean into them too much and I feel like Futaba is one of the few characters where both options work well in the story.
