What fascinates me most about her generation of models, is that they all had a very distinctive look. If I think of Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, etc... these were all woman that belonged to their “own” class of beauty. All so very different, yet beautiful. Today, these models seem simply to exist and fade into the bunch with the rest. Very boring.
That's because today's models have all been under the knife? The "almond eye" surgery the buccal fat surgery, the lip fillers, the endless nose jobs, the brow lifts. I mean there used to be fresh face with fashion TV, now its science face..and your right it is boring.. kate, stella tenant , linda evangelista Tatjana Patitz, totally original... Bella and Kendall are the new Claudia, Christy, Kate ? Ha ha ha .. 3 girls that had their mommy's plug the crap out of them and they got a following on Instagram and plastic surgery.. Bella bought Carla Bruni's face.. 21st century beauty superficial as f*ck.
You are just plain wrong. The models today are as exciting as inspiring as ever. Look at Duckie Thot, Luma Grothe, Blanca Padilla, Fei Fei Sun to name just a few. To say there aren’t models today with a distinctive look is to simply be lazy.
Some people...are very lucky. Born with the perfect genes, and looks beautiful. Just born to be a supermodel, a singer, a dancer, a scientist, a doctor, etc.
Looking back she was the most beautiful, classic beauty. Amazing eyes, cheekbones and mouth. She has a softness that balances out the sharpness of her features. Linda had her unbelievable flashing eyes that draw you in and can handle any look and hair color. Yasmeen had the graceful, exotic, regal look. All the top models had their own identity.

Simply sublime. She definitely had the best figure of the trinity. She was model thin but with curves in all the right places to accentuate anything she wore. Her face is greek sculpture. Linda was the chameleon who's look was striking at every turn, Naomi had the attitude with that amazing walk that commanded the runway, and Christy was just delicious every time you saw her.
They all had slim healthy bodies, in their own way, but bodies with a shape and all natural. And their faces as well. Zero Photoshop at that time and no plastic surgery. The only one who got a boob job was Stephanie Seymour and it is suspected that Carla Bruni might had a subtle nose job when a teen..but her family features and noses are nice. On the contrary Bella Hadid natural nose was clearly the same that her brother Anwar has..they both inherited their father's features. Bella is totally full of retouches, PS and tweakments.

She could look so different with makeup hair, color, and cuts, and it looked like she was born with it she was beautiful in a natural way, and she just never looked overdone with the make-up. The models today are just not very attractive or fake as can be. She was one of the originals. The 90s supermodels were the real thing. Beautiful without looking plastic, manufactured, or freakish, so they still looked like themselves. None since then have left the mark that they did upon the modeling world. They'll keep being remembered while the rest are forgotten.
Agree Christy also had a racial ambiguity to her look like she definitely doesn't look like the everyday white woman in some photos she could almost pass as a mulatto or middle eastern I think that adds to her appeal
@Model Win I agree as well. She really just had a look that was a beautiful mixture that could pull anything off. She always had this Audrey Hepburn look to me, and so I admired her so. She didn't even have to try to be beautiful ; she just was naturally. She definitely was my favorite model, of all time. And now to see how she has used her influence to give back to the world. No doubt, she's a true beauty inside and out. ❤
I think her face is what most of the Hollywood celebrity nowadays would like to have; high cheekbones, chiseled jaw lines, voluptuous lips. It's genetic people. 🙂

Dorothy Dandridge,she played Carmen in Carmen Jones in 1954. Actually she was nominated for an Oscar for that Movie,however Grace Kelly one. Not,because she was better than Dorothy Dandridge,but the racial tension at that time. Look up that Movie and you would see how Elegant and Beautiful she was. Christy Turlington she is extremely Elegant and Beautiful.

Whenever other supermodels shared the camera with her it suddenly became glaringly obvious all their flaws in comparison. There's 10s and then there's Greek Goddess level once every 100 years. Imagine seeing this beautiful freak in motion in real life if a camera can capture this? Sensory overload. She's one of my favorite models. Her father is White American and her mother is from El Salvador. But her mom's grandfather was a British diplomat to El Salvador. So English, Irish, and Salvadorian ( Spanish and Indigenous) is her ethnicity.
Well, if her GPa was a British Diplomat that doesn’t necessarily make her Salvadoran or indigenous. Many diplomats (and their families) don’t necessarily marry the culture they are working in, usually they live in an isolated area. Also many Salvadorans don’t consider themselves indigenous, but seem to claim Euro ethnicity.
@@sahej6939 As someone who is part Salvadorian. I can very well tell you my family and I are very aware of our indigenous and spanish roots. Salvadorian is ultimately a nationality. Christy mother and the rest of her family is from El Salvador and just so happens to have English ancestry. Being Hispanic or latino isn't a race rather than a culture and ethnicity. Latinos can be of any background.

Christy Turlington is still a supermodel today. She walked runways for all the major designers. She could go from classic elegance like Oscar de la Renta to something hip like Anna Sui and look great. She always looks awesome in print photography. She is doing a campaign for Calvin Klein now for Eternity with her husband and she still looks gorgeous. She recently did a Versace runway show. When a model are over 50 and still looks fabulous is sexy Versace, you are a supermodel. Christy Turlington will probably model forever! I will always love her time beauty.
