What if there was only one cause of chronic fatigue syndrome and it's energetic?? I have found this to be true for me, and it could be for you! At it's core, my chronic fatigue has been caused by my nervous system being chronically stuck in the freeze response of the nervous system!! The freeze response is a threat response of the nervous system, like the sympathetic response (fight or flight). But if your body enters either of these states when you're not being physically threatened, it's a trauma response. The thing is, having your nervous system in these states temporary is not a problem - it's when they are going into these responses on a chronic basis that it becomes a problem and starts wreaking havoc for the body, especially the mitochondria. This begins to weaken the systems in the body that require the most energy (muscles, brain, liver), and we become chronically ill with a multitude of symptoms. But what if the way to heal wasn't a myriad of supplements and protocols to try to figure out how to rebalance the body...what if there was just one thing your body needed to heal itself?? And that was to shift the nervous system out of the freeze response!! In my experience, this is the answer to healing chronic fatigue. It's far from easy, but it simplifies it drastically and it provides a deeper understanding of what actually needs to heal - our emotional body. And when our emotional body is healed, our physical body will heal itself!

There's actually 4 responses to chronic trauma according to complex trauma expert Pete Walker. The 4th response is "fawn". Fight/flight/freeze/fawn. Fawn is your classic codependent, people-pleasing response where all your attention is turned outwards and away from your personal physiological and emotional experience. People with chronic fatigue tend to oscillate between freeze and fawn. Pete Walker has written some great books on this.

@excel04 ~ thank you for mentioning fawn, I guess the lovely video lady is aware but that she resonates most with freeze.. I am sadly most definitely a fawner, & freeze & flight too, rarely fight -from the various situations I learned that wasn't a good option.. but all of the Fs have a high price in terms of wasting life. Feeling safe is the other key to healing. You can’t heal in the environment where the abuse took place. For many of us that means moving away from childhood homes or unsafe people. I moved into my own place about 2 months ago. Although I am still exhausted, that wired feeling of never being able to relax is slowly dissipating, and I’m accepting the reality that my journey to healing is just starting. Be gentle with yourselves.

Add mold, viral infections (like covid) and it can be virtually impossible to feel safe, because the body is not a safe place to be.

Yes… Had a hard childhood and a lot of trauma, but nothing compared to be with a Borderline or narc assist. My body started shutting down from Lyme disease, and then I got into that abusive relationship, was on the doorstep for so many years. Really grateful for RU-vid, and all of these people sharing the Learning, Wisdom, theories!

@@erikalarsson I'm so sorry to hear. Trying to heal again from a Narcissistic relationship is extremely difficult. I've struggled with it for years now. Its very hard to see another person as a non entity especially one we thought we loved. I was on opiod treatment at the time and the damage it did to my brain and body was immeasurable. When they discard us we neither have them to continue with or us to return to; a literal death in so many ways. I couldn't relate to anything or anyone. Hobbies gone and bonds and friendships ruined , it leaves you in a somatic mess to say the least. It takes heavy neurological changes to break the trauma bond and in my case detach from the shared fantasy space and the prolonged grief it creates. Truly horrifying but the true healing lies in there never really being anything at all. Quiet individuated indifference.

Trapped emotional trauma holds your energy captive, it's a withholding pattern. Letting it go to let energy flow is easier said than done and impossible when frozen. Safety or self preservation becomes priority. Freeze is same as a deer caught in the headlights ...paralyzed, immobilized. C-PTSD is prevalent in narcissistic entanglements, its not a relationship it's a one sided situation where you're on the losing end. Your mind and body are on guard constantly, hyper villigent to defend against any and every impending threat. You can never relax, you can never catch your breath, constantly trying to keep your head above water is a constant struggle which expends all your available energy and then some leaving you in an energy deficit. How can you shift down from fight/f!ight/freeze into calm waters when triggered ? It becomes virtually impossible to self regulate the daily dysregulation in day to day life If you're involved with someone who is constantly triggering you, directly or indirectly. You cannot heal if you're being poisoned day in and day out. Narcissists use you to self regulate which throws your nervous system out of whack leaving you dysregulated. They are emotionally unstable and will cause you to become emotionally unstable too. What you need more than anything is to feel safe and secure day in and day out and to be in a kind, loving, supportive environment. Stability allows you to nourish, to grow and thrive instead of being depressed, deprived and denied.

Thank you for pointing out that a relationship with a narcissist is impossible. I’ve tried to explain this to people by saying that you can’t reach someone who isn’t living in the same reality as you. Narcissists are in their own bubble; they see other people as things. There is no way to have an emotional connection because you’re only a thing to them.

Correlating symptoms with metaphors was so helpful...cold=frozen...muscle fatigue=powerlessness... so eye opening and makes so much sense

That makes sense. I'm almost healed from chronic fatigue and a host of other things. I have childhood neglect and abuse and when CF came on, I wasn't in the best of relationships. I couldn't fight anymore, and I wasn't in a position to flight. I went down, bedridden for two years, and when I started coming out of it, I was doing a lot of mind work and changing how I looked at these situations. Everything I accepted the situation and valued myself, didn't abandon myself, I got a little better, the better and better. I was chronically cold as well.

Chronically cold? I assume you've had your thyroid checked?..hypothyroidism can make you feel cold...so can lack of blood flow from anaemia, and sleep apnea, and diabetes. I've had ME/CFS for several decades, and I have difficulty regulating temperature. Also have you read any studies on R-nase L?

Wow that's amazing to hear that you've almost healed your chronic fatigue and other symptoms! What a beautiful insight that every time you accepted a situation and valued yourself, you got a little better. It reminds me of Gabor Mate's description of our 2 core needs as humans: attachment and authenticity. When we have to chose as children, we'll always chose attachment over authenticity, basically learning how to abandon ourselves for the sake of attachment, which we have to have. As adults, as we carry these programs with us, the chronic self-abandonment is what leads to chronic illness so often of the time. So then the way to healing, one would argue, is to fully embrace and act in alignment with our own authenticity, and it sounds like that's exactly what you did to find healing! This is good. Movement and Breathing are Key. I have almost healed completely from Fibromyalgia by using laughter, singing, dancing, fun. Talk therapy for decades and I only became more resentful. Then I was trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and I began to see changes in my brain. But I still declined in healing and my symptoms became much worse to where I thought I would end up in a wheelchair. At the same time I moved to be with my mom. Where I was living and family dynamics rode me hard until I got so angry that I could not contain it anymore and Miss Perfect for my Family just would not play anymore. Then my mom died and I got REAL with my emotions! I let it out! I let it shine! I could not stop myself from KNOWING that I am not responsible for anyone else at all. Good luck everyone. The fact that my finger slipped while I was holding my phone and I accidentally clicked on this video is enough of a sign. You explained things I’ve been trying to figure out for so long. I experienced a very traumatic childhood and early adulthood and have now been diagnosed with heart conditions, autoimmune disorders, blood pressure issues, etc etc. It’s just been compounding and I’ve known it’s due to my body storing the trauma and literally shutting down but I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I am so incredibly grateful for you sharing what you know and am going to binge all of your videos. Thank you❤️

The timing of this is astounding. I basically just slept all day (on a weekend) and wanted to go right back to bed after the long nap. It’s not depression because there are so many things I want to do with my life; I have so many goals, but it takes everything I have just to hold a full-time job. It’s not just my energy. I also can’t breathe going up stairs anymore. My husband thinks it’s my anemia, that my body isn’t getting enough oxygen, but consistent iron supplementation isn’t helping. Just today, after a long nap and I’m still exhausted, I sadly accepted that my life now is nothing more than work and sleep. I will have to give up on my goals unless I survive long enough to retire, then maybe I can revisit some goals. Just trying to come to terms with that was soooo sad. I decided to eat a small dinner before going back to bed. I turned on RU-vid while I ate hoping for a short, fun video to get my mind off things… and instead this video showed up. I was absolutely glued to my chair the entire time; this is exactly what I needed. It rings true, it makes sense, and yes I already understood I have attachment trauma because both parents were unsafe and they were literally all I had. There were no grandparents, aunts, cousins, or even friendly neighbors in my childhood… only my parents. I’ve understood for a while what went wrong in my childhood but not what to do about it. Years of therapy, self-help books, breath work, mindfulness, yoga, etc. have not helped much. Only watching this video did it click that my attachment trauma is being triggered daily at work (demanding and insecure atmosphere, must be perfect at all times) and in marriage (husband will simply walk away if I say anything he doesn’t like, must be perfect at all times). No wonder all I can do is sleep when I’m not working. Thank you for making this video. I thank my lucky stars it came across my feed. Now I don’t know what to actually do to get better (I’m too far invested in my job to start over at my age; I have to stick it out) but at least I understand the connection. I will try the somatic techniques you mentioned. That was extremely helpful also, to finally understand why I can’t just think my way out of this and why supplements aren’t helping.

I recently heard a teaching that mentioned that our first response should be FLOCK, that is to look for safety in our flock, our people. When we find ourselves isolated, or, even worse, under attack by our own people... then fight, flight, freeze, or fawn become the conditioned responses of Complex PTSD.

After many years of much research and personal healing from CFS, I relate it to both ongoing high stress (freeze response is one possible to stress) and hibernation. Turns out that other animals experience torpor, stress hibernation, which reverses itself. I believe CFS is some remnant of that response in our evolutionary history.

Deeply processing as I’m 60 and the last several years have been under chronic stress (way pre pandemic and post pandemic). Your explanation resonates deeply. @@emotional-answers it’s a journey and it’s a long accumulation of many things. I became the go to friend, partner, the deep listener care taker while not having support for myself. My lesson or learning is creating wise loving boundaries. Yes, it all makes sense to me now too. As soon as I found out about the Freeze response, I intuitively realised thats where my fatigue and fibromyalgia came from... this video puts it all together.

I stumbled upon your video tonight ‘by accident’ (the Universe knows what we need!) and, as I listened to you, I could literally feel my body becoming lighter and more relaxed . Everything resonated SO deeply and tying all the parts together made so much sense once you said it! I’m a former body worker who has used a variety of energy modalities to help my clients in their healing journeys, but have been unable to fully heal my own core wounds because they have felt frustratingly just beyond my ‘reach’ and I couldn’t access them. Thanks to you, now I know why. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your discoveries! Loved what you said about the body speaking in metaphors - will have to explore that more. :) I’ve been ‘living under a rock’ for the past 2+ years recovering from an abusive relationship (3 autoimmune diseases, AF and CF later … 🙄) so somehow have never heard of havening, but will be looking into that more deeply too. Oh - re why you get a frustration response when you try to reassure yourself that you’re fine - I was guided to tell you that others have dismissively told you you were fine in the past when you knew you weren’t, but they held the power (parent/child) and you weren’t able to argue the point. Next time that happens, open your mouth to speak and let whatever it is that needs to, come out (it could be a rageful scream). Once that part of you finally feels heard, I bet you’ll be able to integrate it more easily. ❤️ Thank you again so, so much for all your really good work here!

Omg great comment, the part about being told we’re fine when we know we’re not… well, that cut me to my core. I thought it was just about doctors telling us everything is fine when our symptoms are debilitating and we need help - I lost all faith in doctors; they have almost nothing to offer but prescriptions - but now I realize it’s much older than that. It goes back to dismissive parents who denied our experiences of the world, particularly our experiences of them.

I've been reading the same material that she has been reading, but am not as invested in exploring the nervous system and physiological responses. I am more invested in being more aware of how I talk to myself, treat myself and being more kind to that child in me. I find myself repeating the abuse. It's astonishing. I have forgiven them but I do find myself cussing at them in my head. How could they? We learn what to expect of ourselves from our parents. We learn what never to do or say and it can be ridiculous and mean. It's like hypnosis where you find there are things you can't do and have no idea why. But it lasts your whole life. And of course there are our needs as children, and how those needs were provided for or not. And how we then don't learn to recognize our own needs and our bodies pay the price. I'm in my seventies and this is a hard pill to swallow but I promised myself that I would conquer one more fear before I die and have had too much pain and fatigue for too may years. So why not work on this so I don't have to in my next life! But geez. My body has remembered all of the past. This is the subconscious. Learning not to put your hand on a hot stove is one thing, learning not to talk or ask for help, or ever get angry is the same unconscious learning but with terrible consequences later in life. So perhaps we have all been "abused" to some extent and are continuing the abuse in some way......and need to stop! And grieve and be compassionate with ourselves. Reassure ourselves often. Who knows how many physical disorders and nervous reactions are the consequence of childhoods we don't even remember. But as I keep an eye on myself, I find myself repeating the same BS. And then I remember.

I'm only 31 but I feel so much older due to everything I've experienced, and I'm having physical manifestations of the trauma, like IBS, migraines, and chronic fatigue. It feels like some days I am so far away from healing from all the trauma, I go back into old patterns and yes, I abuse myself in the same ways that others abused me. I neglect my own needs because it is easier. I admire your determination though. I love what you said about promising yourself that you will face one more fear, and that you've already dealt with so much pain and fatigue. @@debrakrch-ur8wv I’m envious of your age 😉 Seriously I’m just trying to survive long enough to retire so I can actually do a few things I want to accomplish in life but am too exhausted to do while struggling to hold my job. I’m in my 40s.

@@pamelawoodsum8608 thanks for pointing this out but not everyone can do this. I believe if done correctly it calms the nervous system but people with food sensitivities to meat and/or histamine intolerance get awful side effects from certain meats. Mikaila Peterson has discussed some of the meats she couldn’t handle but it was a lot of trial and error… most of us don’t have the resources she has to figure it all out; some of us just get sicker on carnivore to the extent we can barely hold a job. Believe me, I wanted it to be the secret answer to all my problems.

I wish I knew this a long time ago, I just started learning about the nervous system and freeze response literally everything makes sense now. I’ve been doing breathwork multiple times per day and it’s been massively helping me process and regulate my nervous system. I was stagnant for so long!!! And I’ve tried to work on it in every way, and now I understand it’s literally in the body and I need to work with the body as well as my mind of course, for me the body and nervous system regulation was the missing link. It’s not just chronic symptoms it effects every area of your life including taking actions and being productive in life, you constantly feel stuck. 2 things needs to be worked on nervous system regulation and self concept that’s it to change your life around and I learnt this thanks to Dylan James, I just wish I knew how to deal with this years ago would have saved me so much time I was literally stagnant in every area of my life from being in freeze

I was questioning this after Going through Dr. Aimie Apigian’s 6 weeks online course, “ attachment and Neurodevelopment“. Just prior to that course, I did her “21 day journey”of hers where she taught somatic experiencing tools for us to learn. All of it was amazing and I highly recommend it. Just hearing you now what you said I definitely know this is where I’m at. Thank you so so much for for sharing your own struggles with this. So very grateful.

Chronic fatigue has been the most debilitating force. I have been startling/freezing since at least 4. I have been tired since my late teens/ early 20's and I am in my early sixties now. It was only when I was diagnosed with PTSD back in 91 had I never heard about Post traumatic stress disorder. I am so happy that all these topics are more common. Thanks!

Really insightful thankyou! I concluded something similar for my own issues, it seems like my nervous system is stuck in freeze and hence I suffer from chronic fatigue, pain, digestive issues, allergies and the emotional symptoms of anxiety and procrastination. I also definitely agree that therapies for it need to be bodily not just verbal, as it's such a powerful response and bypasses the rational mind. I've recently concluded I also suffer from hypermobile ehlers danlos which seems to make people more prone to going into and getting stuck in this state.

Thank you so much!😊. I have come across you by 'Accident'! I can't see your name anywhere. I got Fibromyalgia diagnosed in March 2019. I was determined to heal myself..... I do Transcendental Meditation which helps. I have done numerous courses including on line. I have watched Medical videos and other people who were healing through 'self helping'. However, I am so grateful to you for explaining CFS in such an easy and simplified way to understand why we have Chronic Fatigue (Cause).... The symptoms....(Effect) and how we can take back control and learn to heal ourselves, with your simplified explanation! Taking back control and Healing: It all fits into place with regards to where I am now with my knowledge and awareness about diaphragmatic breathing (one of my gifts is singing). Plus having learned about the Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) Re Evaluation Co Counselling, expressing emotions. Keeping fit as usual in Nature, which also pampers ourselves, mind, body and Spirit! omg I just found you and you are blowing my mind. I am so stuck right now to move forward and I actually have this terrible habit of ruining my life by stopping the flow of money and a good career. I'm so sorry you've been feeling so stuck and entangled in that cycle. That definitely sounds like a cycle that's being fed by a wound! In my life, the only way I've had success shifting cycles like that is to stop trying to change the pattern and instead go into the wound and make space for it to be felt and held. As the emotional wound starts to move and process, I've been amazed at how the pattern that was caught up in the wound will start to shift on it's own with very minimal effort on my part! For the first time in more than three years, someone was able to put into meaningful words what’s been happening to me (and growing continually more potent) since I was a kid - I was eventually “abandoned” by a single mother, sent to live with an estranged father after 14 years by deception. It finally culminated in a heart attack and 4x bypass surgery at 57. Part of the fear and shame that hovers always on my periphery is there because I know without any doubt whatsoever that it will happen again. I feel trapped and I don’t move because I’ve been reduced to two choices: subject myself to that which I know is dangerous or end my own life. So I don’t move because neither is a viable solution. I’ve tried therapy, hospitalization, and reaching out for as much support as I could muster the energy to ask for, all for nothing. Finding people to understand what’s happening to me seems increasingly improbable. Can’t freeze and survive, can’t move and survive. It sucks.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry to heal about your suffering, coda creator... you've clearly been through so much physically and emotionally over the years. I'm glad that you felt like this video was able to put into words what is going on in your body. If you're right and that this is the cause of your suffering, though, there is hope!! Please remember there is always hope. In my experience, when the root cause of a physical ailment is energetic and we are able to move that energy out of our body, the physical symptom improves very quickly, sometimes remarkably so! There is hope that you can heal!

Doctors trying to force antidepressants on me and labeling me with psychological conditions (and I’m talking about medical doctors, not psychologists… I argue that they aren’t actually qualified to make psychiatric diagnoses) has done even more damage than if I’d just stayed home and not sought any help at all.

That havening thing….I heard about it once before. As someone who is dealing with chronic pain, fatigue and burnout, I’d like to share with you what I’ve pieced together and have recently learned about myself. I need (really really NEED) loads and loads of non-sexual contact. The link I made is that I’m too afraid to tell my husband for (unfounded with him) fear of rejection and that I’ll feel obligated somehow to do something after. I just want to be touched in a loving way and not feel obligated to do anything after - just relax and be in a peaceful state until my body says I can get up now. Ironically, I feel more pain on the days where I am most out of sync with communicating my needs. So I think havening might be more about no sexual contact than anyone may realize. It’s just my working theory at this point so🤷🏻‍♀️

You are absolutely right that as human beings, we NEED unconditional love, which means receiving love without owing anything in return (like sex). And you're right on it that Havening works because it's about exactly that - love without any strings attached. We're sending messages of love and safety to our bodies without expecting anything in return. I love that you've realized this for yourself because this is a huge key to healing from chronic symptoms like pain and fatigue! So it makes all the sense in the world that your symptoms would get worse on days when you're out of sync with your emotional needs (same has always been for me too!) Your body needs tons of unconditional love from you first and foremost for healing, and non-sexual loving touch from a partner is like extra credit. 😉I'm excited for your healing progression moving forward with this realization you've had - amazing self work!! 💖🌈

I'm in my early 40s and just realizing I've been in these freeze trauma response since I've been a teen and quite literally I've been frozen in time, while everyone moves on I'm in the same place since. All I know is I'm emotional and my body is storing all those memories. My digestive system is shut, my organs shut energetically and I from time to time give my body Chi/Qi but It's overwhelming to do this daily so I fail and the cycle repeats. I was diagnosed with systemic lupus when I was 23.

Sounds a lot like my story. Also in my 40s and diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. Also feel stuck (against my will) while everyone else is getting on with their lives, doing things I want to do also like travel, but I’m too exhausted to do anything outside of work hours. All I can do is sleep when there are so many other activities I want to be doing instead.

Wow I resonated with this information so much. I’ve spent the last 7yrs trying to heal CFS with soooo many healing modalities, practitioners, healing devices, supplements, even going overseas for ozone therapy… but nothing worked! That’s when I realised I had to go within to heal my childhood trauma. I’ve been through an intense 6 months with shadow work, releasing repressed emotions but still feeling unwell. I just realised a few days ago that I’ve been in freeze/shutdown mode for years due to triggers from my partner (now.. ex partner). And although we separated 4yrs ago, my body is still in shutdown mode. I’m starting to be so much more conscious of self talk & my inner world but it’s definitely a journey that takes a lot of patience, commitment & acceptance of everything that is coming up to be seen & healed. Your videos are so spot on when dealing with root causes of illness. For me, abandonment issues have been a huge contributing factor to the CFS. I’ll check out your website too! Thank you 🙏

I don't have CFS but my mom does. She also has many inflammation and trauma based conditions that most doctors don't seem to understand the cause of. Thank you for this video. The dorsal vagal side of the vagus nerve is something I needed to learn more about. I plan to show this to her. My mom has always had a lot of stress in her life and it's terribly sad.

This was very helpful. I used to think my freeze response was me staying calm in stressful situations, but it kept me from responding when I actually should have. I recognized a few things you said about how talking to yourself in your head only makes it worse. Being told in childhood that your reaction is wrong and that leading to freeze response resonated too. Thank you!

Omg me too! I used to think my ability to not react, to not show emotion in tough situations was a strength! I used to notice other people getting angry or upset and be so glad I could remain calm. In fact, the more stressful the situation, the calmer I was. An irate male coworker once screamed and cursed at another lady and me. She cried and I stayed stone cold against his temper tantrum . Only after he left did I have any reaction at all and my first priority was comforting the other lady. I was proud for handling the situation so well. Only now can I see that her response was normal and mine was not. I wasn’t “calm,” I had completely shut down.

Hello Anthony! I'm so happy you're here and were able to listen to the whole video. I so hope it was helpful to you, and I'm really sorry to hear of your suffering with chronic fatigue syndrome and the brain fog that comes with it. I have yet to make a separate video on brain fog and loss of cognitive speed and stamina, but it's on my list. ;) I'll share with you, though, that for me, the cognitive symptoms were some of the most pervasive and most challenging to deal with in my illness - I don't know about you. The cognitive symptoms even preceded the fatigue for me. However, I will also share with you that I've found in my own healing journey that my cognitive symptoms are ALL related to energetic wounds, specifically from a deep and unconscious fear of not being good enough and thus ultimately being rejected and dying (childhood thinking). The symptom of brain fog for me was my body dissociating from that fear so that I couldn't feel it, I just was cognitively frozen so that I couldn't risk being vulnerable and exposed to that threat. So it is ultimately the freeze response, which is topic of this video! So I'm so glad you found it and are seeking answers for healing yourself, which is a profound innate ability within us all. Noticed that a LOT of people with Lyme (which I had) also had a history of severe issues with lack of self love, depression etc. Like anger connected with cancer, heart attacks etc. Core traumas and wounds from childhood can be so hard to see, we grow up just thinking it's how things are or the world is, or we are. Makes sense: re freeze state. Been stuck there for years, with one after another fresh traumas from personal, business betrayals etc. and made a baby with a BPD/NPD woman. When I was still super sick from Lyme and not diagnosed! Apparently God wants me to become 10x Superman, with all these things that aren't killing me and supposedly making me stronger! lolz

@@christytdale8225 Fkn HELLZONE. Esp when your family abandons you, says you’re a liar, making it up, and lots of the same from docs, for YEARS! Insult to injury. Trauma piling on top of trauma on top of you’re basically dead any how so why even fkn try, right? Yea it’s hard. 😢🥺🤬🤯😡🥵😳😤🫥🫢🫥😶🫨🫨🤕🤢🤢🤢😵‍💫🤐🤕💀☠️💀☠️💩💩👻👻 Eventually found a great doc in Seattle (Bastyr graduate) combining East and Western medicine. Was 6 or 7 years into it at this point, lost everything. Massive Abx rounds, and later did ozone IV and blood UV treatments/filtering. That was what really helped me turn the corner. But was super sick from being in the Northwest too (no sun for 8 to 10 months out of the year, so not really good for immune system!! Also had tons of viral plus some mold related issues- and history of heavy metal poisoning (which makes us, your buddy can’t process anything really. MTHFR, Jeanne, mutation, northern European. Makes methylation extremely difficult/impossible, so a lot of issues with vitamins, depression and anxiety, mental health, generally, etc..) I have a friend now in Ohio, who has been through the ringer and also very intelligent, found some new ways to do a lot of different things, and he’s opening his own string of clinics! First one is in South Carolina. I am happy to chat in more detail if you need. No one, NO ONE should ever have to go thru that. (And I made a baby with a cluster bee literally right before getting that diagnosis, so extraordinary stress, and all kinds of stuff stuff that you can imagine. If you’ve ever tangled with one of them, narcissistic, personally disorder/psychopath, etc. Do not recommend. Would not repeat. 🤪😜😝😜😝😜) anyhow, had to become quite a bit of a de facto research scientist in order to get to the root of things and have any chance at survival. On top of tons of other stuff that I was already dealing with too being in recovery, depression, addiction, etc. I am always happy to share hard earned knowledgeand wisdom which has come from this path.. happy If I can minimize a little bit of other people suffering in this world. My 1st time watching one of your vids. I am 100% stuck in freeze. I had to shutdown to survive the onslaught of emotional abuse. I reached this chronic stay about a year ago. My abuser is still alive (mother) and at 91 yrs old, her treatment of me is only worse. I do have legit medical issues, too, that contribute. Mostly, I am sheer survival mode. I'm 68 yrs old, and my only protector from her abuse was my father. He just died 3 wks ago. Now, the only shield I have is hiding in my cave (home). Her cruelty is, and always has been, extreme punishment that I exist.

The freeze response, suspends the fight and flight responses. All energy is taken up in maintaining the supression of the urge to fight and run away, and keeping heart and lungs going. People talk a lot about mitochondrial misfunction but it is kinda pointless because they are being bypassed by the freeze response, if you want to fix the dsyfunction then you have to fix the freeze state.

This is what I’m doing❤ My body freezes up and can activate really significant injury - but did that to reveal (finally) the core of the reason why I got injured in first place which was my abusive relationship w my mother creating fawn response to put my needs/voice second. I’d speak up for myself but if person w authority pushed back I’d give in in many instances bc that what i had to do w my mother to stay safe/my dog stay safe. Her abusive hurts my brain and nervous system bc she professes all this love then violates my boundaries for my health well being like it’s a sport. I thought I healed but I hadn’t and just set back all to finally truly say - I’ve been in abusive relationship with my mother for 35yrs
