This is exactly the kind of project I want to take on. Finding one of these for a reasonable price is still possible, and I want to take advantage of that. And a 4g63 swap is awesome. I was thinking of doing that or a 6g72. Keeping it in the family! Really cool build. Looking forward to more. Subscribed!
Hey from Miami Fl. I'm working on a white 87. It's been a two year project for me. Started with a clean 1 owner from Texas. Engine not turning over. Locked up. Did the complete engine, injectors, complete brakes, brake hoses, wheel bearings, intake, bushings, fuel tank and pump. Etc. But Almost done. Im on prepping the body and will do a gloss glossy pearl white wrap. Cant wait to finish it. Every day I see it, I say to myself what a beautiful body style. Keep up the videos. Good job.
Dude, my cousin that lived in Spooner, WI had one of these, same color and everything (maybe this is it???). This was early to mid 90's and I was way too young otherwise I would have bought it from him because even with the stock turbo and original motor that thing was pretty dang quick! Can't say I love the yellow, but color is always a personal choice so as long as you like it that's all that matters. I've been thinking about looking for a project car and the Starion/Conquest came to mind, but they're so rare it might not fit the bill. Anyway, very cool car.
i just picked a really good condition TSI for $1200 it’s a crank no start but it’s been to cold outside and i haven’t sold my GSX! i can’t wait to get it up and going once it’s warmed up
update the police came so i had to store it about an hour away from my house at a family members house and got it back a few months back and this winter i might just try a 302 swap
I'll never ever forget the first time I saw a wide body Mitsubishi Starion. First day of 12th grade in high school, September 1985. I finally got the privilege to park in the seniors parking lot. I had a red 1968 Mustang with black interior. Showed up early and parked in the first row. Then a cute blonde, fellow senior, pulls up in a brand new 1986 red wide body Starion and parks right next to me. I remember thinking "wow!" about both the girl and the car. I've always been interested in those cars but have never owned one. So, I ask: what were the pro's (and cons} of the 2.6 Mitsubishi motor. I live in California where emissions laws are very stringent. So, if I did buy one, and wanted to smog it, it would most likely have to be stock.
Great video! Quick question though: I recently came into ownership of my uncles old conquest that wouldn't start thats been sitting in a shed for 25 years. The engine is probably shot, and I've been really heavily debating on whether to get another 4g54 or swap it for the 4g63. The only reason I'm having trouble deciding is that this is my first project car, and I dont know a whole lot about plumbing and stuff, and I was trying to figure out how difficult it would be to do the 4g63 swap for a beginner? I definitely want to put a 4g63 in it at some point, and so I'm trying to figure out if its worth it or not to try it right off the bat.
In Europe it had a g63t sohc that was basically a 4g63t In the later narrowbodies and 88 wide-bodies had the 4g63t intercooler But it was changed to 4g54t in later 88 to 90
@@richardbeentjes543 I grew up in Belgium and my second car was a used 1983 flat sided Starion with the sohc 4g63t engine and the louvered hood. Loved that car! Wished I could have one of those here in the US, or even better with a dohc 4g63t engine.
