Beautiful car!! Did you keep track of everything you did for the swap? Also were there any mods to fit those wheels? Pm me if you'd like I wanna know more!
hey, Couldnt find the exact link to the build thread but It was kept track of somewhere on the forum starquestclub. There's a few other who have done the swap, so you may be able to find more info there as well. As for the wheels I think it was just some spacers and thats it!
Problem is the Hemi is so freaking heavy ☹️ I have an 87 Conquest and want to put a Hemi in it but the motor is to tall and the oil pan is to low to fit and it’s massive. 700 pounds for the 6.4L vs 532 for the LS9
I Would definitely go back to where you bought those tires from and demand 2 new ones as even low profile those were an easy 15k lasting tire.... Ha ha Nice video nice quest
I had the blue conquest / the same car as the Starion also made by Mitsubishi. I had all types of problems with it after 3 years. It turned out to be junk.
+gary williams Technically, this car is just a rebadged Mitsubishi Starion, so if you were wanting to keep it brand-loyal, you'd need a Mitsu engine like a 4G63 or something like that.
FATBOYREPPIN502 well that's true. but still, since it was a v8 swap it would've been better with a mopar engine. plus the Mitsubishi engines kinda suck anyway. I had a 79' "Plymouth" fire arrow (hatch, not the truck) with the mitsu 2.6 liter. it was a true jdm car(it was bought by a guy stationed in japan, and later sent home) and it definitely ran good for it's day. I even beat a small block chevelle one night. the problem was, number 1 they were notorious for blowing head gaskets, or cracked head. and number 2, the ONLY "speed part" you could get for it was a hooker header. now that was an older engine and I'm sure you can get more, and better parts for newer engines. but everyone I've ever talked to doesn't have much good to say about the Mitsubishi's
FU. CKING. AWESOME. You do whatever you want to do to your car no matter what anyone else says. I love this combo, and it is Super Rad. The original 4 cyl was garbage anyways. This is what could be a new comeback of the Starion and Conquest. NFGLAB \m/ -_- \m/
I had a Conquest back in the day, I seriously thought I would kill myself in that car. Tokico struts, H&R springs, Suspension Techniques anti-sway bars and poly bushings, Greddy cat back exhaust with Random Tech High-Flow cat. Best handling car I've ever owned
Nice, I have Red 87 Quest too , question did you ever get antifreeze come out of plugs I was changing plugs and notice some antifreeze after I crank the motor while plugs were out. ??? anyone??
I assume he means vr38 which is the gtr motor but that would be stupid expensive. A LS is also lighter than any of the motors he just said except the 4g.
aww yawn, closed my eyes and it is like a million other LS swaps(don't get me wrong LS are gr8) , if you have dollars please use them and try work on the original engine or four or five options that the car came with or at least from the same manufacturer .Check out the japanese and australian market engine options. Cheers
Four or Five engine options this car came with? This car only came with the G54B and the 4G64 buddy. We only got the G54B here in the states, and its worth swapping the engine instead of building it to make high horsey numbers. I don't think you understand how rare starquest cars are, owning one is certainly a specialty. There are little of these left on the road, and there is such a minute group of people that have even engine swapped these cars. Good for him for doing what he fucking wanted to the car.
you yourself said rare ,specialty ,left on the road and yet ,oh i just thought about it and if i have to explain it to you its because you wouldn't understand.
This is not a Ford Mustang or a Camaro, if you want your American muscle V8 get one of those cars, but you ruined this gem of a car by doing this swap that was very stupid...
