Charles Edward Hayes, Jr. (born June 11, 1983 in San Leandro, California) is an American professional basketball player currently with the Houston Rockets of the NBA. He was a standout player at the University of Kentucky.
As a junior attending Modesto Christian High School in California, Hayes was named all-league and all-state. That year he grabbed 31 rebounds in the 2000 Northern California championship game - a California High School record for all divisions. As a senior, Hayes was named "Mr. Basketball" in California and a Parade All-American while leading his team to the state championship game.

i remember going to all his highschool games when i was a kid. meeting him. watching him play. all the way to the state championship. its great seeing him in the nba today, he definitely deserves his spot.

Imagine if Steve Nash was 6'7 or 6'9? Imagine if LeBron was 7 foot or 7'2. Imagine if Yao Ming was 7'10 or 8 foot? If I was 4-6 inches higher I'd be a fucking amazing basketball player and so would most people who are pretty good at the sport already.

As for his free throws... well, don't forget he shoots nearly double the percentage of Ben Wallace, one of the truly worst foul shooters to ever grace an NBA court. True, at 65 percent from the stripe, there is still room upwards for him, but he been improving from his 36 percent about three years ago. Look for him to hit 70 percent maybe next season or the season after it. Apart from that, he's a hard team worker. Just got his first triple-double last night. Great ball handler, smart defender.
