Chuck Long played QB for the Lions and Rams between 1986 and 1991
While in the NFL, Long threw for 3,747 yards and 19 touchdowns
Fun Fact: Despite not receiving a college offer until November of his senior year of high school, Long is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in college football history, and the best quarterback in Iowa history

I'm not actually a Detroit fan,but when they drafted Long I remember thinking it might be the start of a really good era for them.

To think he almost beat out Bo Jackson for the Heisman trophy in 1985.

His arm was almost as good as Marino's. Hard to say how much better things would have gone for him with another team, but the NFL game has been merciless on so many highly-talented players our kids and grandkids will never hear of. Mad respect to anyone who sets foot on an NFL field, no matter what.

Yea Chuck It Long .. is one of the best in the game ( dont just look at attributes) . He plays well on that game. Like starting Drew Hill at RB , kind of.

I really wish he had a better career he deserves it, I wish he won a Super Bowl ring too man it sucks that the Lions were so bad all those years 😩😔😢

He was actually the QB’s coach & co-offensive coordinator for Jason White at Oklahoma when he won the Heisman in 2003
