I got the blue and white overalls Chuck Norris for a birthday present when I was a kid. I was like "Who is this"? The action feature was a novelty that figuratively and literally wore out quickly.

I didn't watch the movies, but everyone I knew was aware of Chuck Norris. Me, my brother, and my cousin all had multiple toys from this line. Karate and ninjas were massive and everywhere in the 80's it was all I wanted to do from about 87-92. The best part about these toys is that they look EXACTLY like the characters in the cartoon. It seems counterintuitive, but that wasn't actually a very common thing in the 80's *cough He-Man*

Great follow up. Nothing says Fourth of July like Chuck Norris. Personally, I haven't watched much Chuck Norris movies growing up either, in fact, as I said in part one, my first exposure to Chuck was that stupid cartoon. But the figures do look pretty cool, but not as cool as that custom "G.I. Joe" figure. I was thinking Chuck Norris would've made for a cool G.I. Joe figure. Hope you and Melinda have a great Fourth of July.

To think I decided to start that collection after watching the commercial instead G.I. Joe but changed my mind on the last minute after I saw the awesome art of the G.I, Joe boxes in the toy store. Getting these action figures instead the G.I. Joe vehicles my mom gave me that Christmas would have been the worst mistake from my childhood and a turning point in my life.

Missing in Action was big in my neighborhood for a summer and had an effect on how we played with our GI Joe and like sized action figures. But yeah, it was more the concept of the move and not the Norris in the movie. :)

They made the toys they created the characters and they are a perfect creation in toy form. They look better in pictures and videos. I'm a fan of all these characters in any form like toys even I don't collect them. Always be a fan of the creations of these wonderful characters as toys, in comics and cartoon shows.

My wife laughed out loud when Chuck tried to pick up April O'neal. I think this show suffers from two problems. One, its in a situation where being too toy accurate backfired. I mean, you can't take anyone seriously when they're swinging around candelabras and the corvette shoots serrated barbels. The 2nd problem is the animation is kinda lame like the toys. If only they gave it to TMS or Sunbow, it may have balanced out the ugly designs with awesome animation.

I'm sure they must have produced a figure of Claw that never got released as if you look at the Terminator Cyber Grip Villain action figure, it's claw arm looks exactly like Claw's from the Karate Kommandos cartoon. So I imagine they sculpted and produced the mold but then ended up making use of it for Terminator as the Chuck Norris toy line was cancelled before they had a chance to release Claw.

If Kenner would have at least made them the same scale and price as the Super powers collection, there is a small chance more kids would have bought these, but you're right there was no kids really talking about Chuck Norris at the time. He did have some good movies. They could have tied the toy line to one of them, but oh well.

I loved the Buck Rogers late seventies series, but in the not too distant past, I saw some convention interviews of Gil Gerard. It was one of those shocking experiences where you realize an actor does not embody the fictional character who they portrayed so well on screen. Buck was witty and quick with his tongue, but he was never rude or crass. Tiger man forever!!!

Chuck Norris didn't really gain the wide appeal he had until well after this line. Sidekicks tried, but let's be honest, it was Walker:Texas Ranger that made him popular, followed by the infamous Chuck Norris lists on the internet.

This is one advantage being a touch older Mike cause I did see number of Chuck Norris films in the 80s and I wont say they were the greatest or he's Oscar worthy (FORGIVE ME CHUCK!!! LOL) but a lot of guys in my peer groups were into his flicks. Granted none said they wished they were toys, but I agree if GI Joe had a Norris Mail Away we would have gone bat-shit crazy to get them. Other models from his movies that could have worked as a GI Joe, Lone Wolf McQuade, the Delta Force and the Octagon. Especially after the Ninja craz (which you guys know about lol) Imagine a CN Octagon figure vs Storm Shadow or a Delta Force Norris leading a squad of Joes against Cobra Troops, or McQuade vs say all the Dreadknoughts LOL Gotta stop drooling now LOL
