I hope he doesn’t get a spot. The league needs to put the pressure right back on the idea that players should get paychecks for any reason other than being the best basketball player. Tony Snell is fine, he’s made tons of money in the league. Whatever guy he’d replace probably needs it more anyways
If people knew tony snells story of how he discovered he had autism at 31 after his son was diagnosed with autism at birth, theyd be amazed at how good he is when the odds were against him.
Taxes, agent fees, etc. clearly you see that big number and you think to yourself he’s good. Just like how the government looks at a 45,000 person and says to themselves “ how can they not survive on that?” But you’re right
@@coffeine1924 gotchu!! Thanks for the intellectual retort. Clearly you understood the analogy I was going for. The fact that you’re just looking at how much he made, and not take into account all the variables that come with being in a higher tax bracket, the statistics of an average nba player and how a Lange percentage go through if not most of there money is such a great conversation we are having about it.
Just imagine if you made that with the NBA insurance to help with medical situations. It's not the money chuck want him to have it's the medical benefits. Yall keep talking about money yet dont know his situation taking kids to a doctor isn't cheap if you have to come out of the pocket. If it was you, you would want the benefits to help. Yall are some envious people
I can see both sides of the argument. He did make a lot of money, but hospital visits and medical costs can drain your bank account. He can also find a job/ career with medical care.
And? This isn't about you, you know who never has to worry about this stuff? People who live in literally any other Western country. My dad had a stroke last year and it probably wouldve bankrupted the average American, didn't cost any of us a penny
@@kicknowledgesmith8608 That's understandable and all, but by signing Tony Snell you're removing one roster spot from someone who is probably in their 20s looking for an opportunity that hasn't even earned money in the nba yet. What if that person has problems too?
Facts. Many NBA players current and former have been playing off of minimum, one-year contracts or multi-year contracts that are fully non-guaranteed. I mean, all the best for Tony for having to take care of not only one but two kids with autism, but the guy should be set for life having earned those millions of dollars. I know a few family friends who support their handicapped kid even on minimum to barely-over-minimum wages. The guy seriously does (and should) not need any more help from the outside to support his family - if anything, it's them average people who are giving their all to feed their disabled kids on minimum wages, that deserve outside help.
@@richiebee1984He should tell his wife to stop spending money on private jets and 50k bags. Girl's been throwing his money away on luxury when he's begging for benefits
@richiebee1984 he should go to trade school and get Healthcare that way. It's the fact he thinks he's better than that. Too damn bad. 53 million dollars made over his career.
@@that1johnson even if half of it was taken in taxes, that’s still more than $25 million over the past nine years. Still more than most of us will ever see in our lives.
As a mama with 1 Ausome Daughter, thank you Chuck for speaking for this man and his family. Autism is not the end of the world, but it is difficult to navigate in the world. I hope the NBA does something to help because it is expensive!
They’re just using his kids to gait bait. This man made 53 million in his career. You know how much it costs to take care of an autistic child don’t fall for this garbage
lived in the USA for a while. Whats really sad is that we can have some of the best technology music and sports coming from ya, but you cant build a solid structure that provides all citizens with decent care and opportunities. Very very nice what Charles is doing, but think of the many families that dont have that NBA name recognition. I used to look up to the US, but right now i feel mostly sad for what could have been :(
If healthcare was important to Tony he would’ve set aside money for it. Tony made 53m pre tax and probably took home 10-20 after taxes and agents and all. Tony doesn’t need help with healthcare he needs financial help
Yea for Charles B. Great ask for something that makes sense and is charitable, shows a sense of community and fellowship. I hope the NBA, and other sports entities at the professional levels and even college and high school, hear this important message. These athletes make a ton of money for wherever they're playing. Good looking out Chuckie.
Yes forget the average joe working 40+ hours a week and most of his check going to bills and healthcare for his family. Lets instead focus on the man with 53 million dollars who wants free insurance for life.
If you read through you will see my reply comment to someone who had the same view as you I want to help people i belive help and care shouldnt be something selective as long as the person is a good human being and is a great person he needs it we dont know it intricacies of how his money works where it is if its easily accessible maybe its all tied up in some investments into the future of his family regardless help and advocating shouldnt be just for those who are underpriviledged rich people or people who are comfortable or better off also have problems and no matter how u spin it things like autism are life long things that need special care forever and is already expensive so it will always be expensive and thats a life long expensive thing it doesnt take anything to appeal and put eyes on his situation so why not being neglectful of it just because he is richer than me or way further in life is sooo toxic and you basically are sitting here dehumanizing him and his kids and wife while also actively trying to deny those kids the best possible care they can receive? come on man really?!!! HELP SHOULD NOT KNOW FINIANCIAL SITUATION ONLY NEED AND GOOD PEOPLE MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO WHO DESERVES HELP @@sodapopcurtisjr
I mean they are expected to save the money and pay taxes. Even then the money comes out to around 30 mil after taxes, and even if the guy is only on half of that due to expenses, some reasonable bond investments should return 5% of 15 million or $750k a year. That being said a hard deadline of 10 years being the difference between medical bills and not is a bit rediculous and probably screws over other other players, but yeah the guy at at least $3/4 of a mil a year in passive income (not a fraud variatio of it at least)
@@OneMocha1015idk what u rambling about but even if the taxes cut it to 30 million, that’s WAYYYY more than enough to provide for ur family. Having 30 million is filthy rich and dude is still complaining
@@OneMocha1015 Even after taxes he should have atleast 25 millions for himself. Most people in this world won't make even 5 millions in their entire life and they got to figure out for themselves. This guy fucked up big time and threw away his money. That's his problem.
Indeed Tony Snell's according to the internet has earning over $50 million dollars in 9 seasons playing for the NBA. I would rather see financial aid going where there is an actual need. Even with half of his earning being taxed, he still has 25 million, which should be enough to provide top notch care for his children.
It reminds me the story of the gambler Terry Watanabe who lost 200 millions $ in casinos and then started a gofundme for his medical conditions. Tony Snell you made 50 millions $ in 9 years.
How is that the same thing at all😂he has 2 kids with autism and if he gets signed he gets medial insurance from the NBA for life. He’s not asking starting a go fund me and asking you for your money
@@kevinsantos8037 9years : 50 millions and 2 years later he is broke and can't provide for his family. Begging for help after you made that much money is disgusting. He fucked up big time.
@@kevinsantos8037so what makes Tony unable to afford the healthcare and why does he need it? You say for his kids but tell me how many parents of autistic children are millionaires
Quick search of Tony Snell estimates he made over 50 mil during his career... There are normal family with way less income getting by with kids with Autism. I know two different issues but Chuck make it sound like Tony didn't make much money and he struggling. Its really not fair to ask a NBA team to sign him for this reason. It should be the Commish. making a exception like Jet stated.
This is actually a horrible take by chuck. Knowing these players get payed millions especially someone like tony snell who has made 50 mill in the league
I think it’s crazy how kids are brought up he’s made over 50 million in 9 years the average salary a year is 30 thousand for a working class American there single mothers who have 5-6 kids living on a 30k income and they don’t complain these are rich people problems makes us appreciate what are parents did for us !!
Google also says it cost 2mil to afford a kid w/ autism, he has two. And they just kids, this is a lifetime condition. Not to mention taxes so you can go ahead and cut the 35mil to what 20? Someone should sign him
@@iiConFuZze It's really disgusting to make up things about autism that aren't real. There's not a single article you can direct me to that says "it costs 2mil a year to afford a kid with autism'. Wow.
@@kevvideos634 That's how the world works, the richer you are the more free things you get. Snell who is a multi-millionaire is going to get this covered for free while regular folks who'll never sniff 35 million won't get this benefit. Not hating on Snell at all though, he worked hard to be an NBA player and put himself and his family in this position
Ok I'm gonna come off as a dick here, but Tony Snell has over 50 million dollars in total earnings. While I feel for the man as someone who worked as a special education teacher, damn the amount of regular people who desperately need money and help for their autistic children this is a tough one.
If you see his wifes on insta and youtube she litreally spends tens of thousands of dollars evertime she shops. She wants to use all that money for herself but have her husband beg NBA teams to sign him so that their kids can be covered. When you dig a little more into it it's actually pretty disgusting
Snell made over 50 million bucks. How about we start helping the most needy first, and the millionaires last? Everything in this country is so damn backwards.
Snell made 52 million in the NBA if he didn’t be smart with his money that’s on him…it’s regular people with autism kids that gotta deal wit it the best they can
The dude made 52 million over his career, he should have more than enough. My cousin takes care of her autistic son just fine as a receptionist. Hard to feel bad for a dude who’s made that ridiculous amount of money and blew it
I'm a special ed teacher so had sympathy initially but the guy has made 52 million in the nba, if his kids and him are not alright that's on him... and he'd be taking a spot from someone else who made has made nothing and potentially has kids and a family.
While I understand the sentiment, Tony Snell has earned over 53 million in his career. I'm not sure there are many other parents of autistic kids out there that would earn even a tenth of that in their lifetime. I hope the guy can get on a team, but lets not pretend that they cannot afford to look after their children.
Hey, Chuck… You, Shaq, Kenny should Pay for the Medical Care for Tony Snell Kids. Also, a Couple of former NBA Players just got Convicted of Scamming the NBA’s Retired Players Medical Plan.
That dude should have made enough money to have the insurance to take care of his kids health needs that come with autism. Charles needs to educate himself about these things before he opens his mouth. And it's not a teams responsibility to give him a job for the sole purpose of taking care of his family. If he's not on a team then they felt his services weren't needed.
I don’t agree with Chuck sometimes but his plea for this bruhtha to get signed hit home as a father myself with 2 autistic children. It is very expensive and as a Bucks fan I never understood why they let this bruhtha go he’s a better asset as a veteran player than any of the guys on the bench right now he could be helpful to the Bucks IMO! 🤷🏿♂️
Snell has made $53 million throughout his NBA career. This is me playing the world's smallest 🎻. There are people in my country who earn around $300 a month, while raising autistic kids and they get by. I swear, some people in America are so darn spoiled. It's pathetic.
Hoping that the NBA will step in to help this man knowing that he may not justly earn a spot on a roster is wishful thinking; It's a business. With the kind of salaries that NBA players make they should have created an organization that could help in those situations. There must be something that players can fund that will generate revenue to help distressed players.
Funny how a man with tens of millions is trying to secure free lifetime healthcare but regular people have to pay a quarter of their overall earnings for it. Don't sign this bum. He isn't looking to play for any reason other then free benefits and hes terrible on the court.
There are people who dont make a million dollars their whole life taking care of their ill children and youre telling me an NBA millionaire needs a handout?
Love the sentiment but c'mon man... Tony made $53 million dollars in his career. Yeah it's expensive, but I wish we didn't centre the argument around this considering he is extremely wealthy beyond comprehension.
dang he just short of that 10 years, hope someone signs him. I know he's probably made millions over the years, but he still should get that 10 year pension.
