I really wish Charles explained his rationale, because that list makes no sense.... especially when he eventually relents, and says you could switch Kyrie, Gordon and Kevin.....
Rob C He says that because there isn't much difference in class between those players. So it comes down to personal preference. Personally, I would put Irving higher, but he wouldn't be in my Top 15.
That's not a good enough explanation. Just to say there isn't much difference in class is weak. There has to be a legitimate reason to rank them, ie. stats, contribution to team, or whatever. They should've given him a chance to explain more, or he should've given a better explanation, cuz a lot of people were right there with Shaq and Kenny's reaction.
Chuck speaks the truth...Irving is over rated he's looked a lot better since Lebron came back because of all the open looks he gets but once father time catches up with Lebron ,Kyrie ain't leading nobody nowhere.
Unless you go by some exact criteria then this question will always be opinion. So I'm not sure how people always rip on each other so hard for having a different opinion. It's just like the debates about the top 10 of all time. I can see arguments for and against a lot of those guys. If you take MJ, Bird, Wilt, Oscar, Russell, Kareem an Magic who would all be in most people's top 10, you could almost make a good argument for OR against ranking them in any order. I personally rank Russell over Wilt but wouldn't argue too hard with someone who thinks the opposite.... Anyways that was just an example. I see a TON of people on here saying Kyrie's ranking is way too low. Some saying he should be top 10. Depending on what you factor into this, I have a list of 4 point guards that I think are clearly playing better than Irving this year, and a handful of others that I think are in the same ball park... To me, Harden, Westbrook, Paul and Curry are still a tier above Irving. But I'd also put these guys on the same tier as Kyrie: Antetonkounmpo, Lillard, Wall, Lowry, Thomas, Walker and Bledsoe... For example, statistically Lillard beats out Irving in every single category except 3% lower in FG%, while subjectively I believe a guy like Isaiah Thomas or Kemba Walker are more important to their team's success. So it all comes down on what factors you use to base your OPINION. I will say that Irving's smooth jumper and insane handles make him 1 of the most fun players in the league to watch though! After saying all that, Irving would be ranked higher than 25 on my personal list lol.

Nobody seems to have noticed where Sports Illustrated ranked Kyrie Irving in their top 100 player rankings at the beginning of this season: AT NUMBER 25. I'm not suggesting that Chuck copied the SI rankings, as his numbers 21 to 24 are whack and certainly not resembling what SI had. But if Chuck did not consult those rankings, we should give him credit for picking Kyrie at the exact spot that they did. I don't see why everyone is losing their minds over the pick of Kyrie at #25. Take Lebron off his team and see what he can do. He is a pretty one-dimensional player who is definitely not a floor leader at PG, but pretty much a scorer straight-up.
Suggesting he should rank Kyrie much much higher than 25 (I believe he would legitimately be anywhere from about #18 at best to #27 or 28 perhaps) is just silly when you look at his game as a whole and plenty of other talented players in the league.
@@showtimero1611 top 3 guard…..I can name ten better ….steph, lillard, harden, Simmons, ha mordant , donic, Bradley Beal, Westbrook (not this year) , but he top 10
Nobody should put Curry over Kyrie after the 2016 NBA finals. Curry totally got outplayed by Kyrie especially in Game 5 he got embarrassed by Uncle Drew.
Kobe Bryant haha you got me dead. Kyrie has officially become the most overrated player in basketball, after one play you assume he is better because he hit a shot. If the stakes were the other way around, steph would have hit the shot even easier because steph defense>kyrie defense
Honestly, Chuck needs to get tested for drugs. Kyrie @25 and Draymond @23? Kyrie is a top 12-15 EASY, any higher can be debatable. And how can you put a guy who's runner up for DPOY for 2 consecutive years @23? If that's not enough, he put Hayward and Love above these 2 dudes. Chuck needs to stop eatin' those heroin frosted donuts.
This my top 25 1. LeBron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Kawhi Leonard 4. Russell Westbrook 5. James Harden 6. Anthony Davis 7. Steph Curry 8. Paul George 9. Kyrie Irving 10. DeMarcus Cousins 11. Everybody in the NBA (and the fans) overrates Kyrie. Yes, Kyrie is talented...offensively, but he does not make his team better. He's actually everything people criticize Melo for, except Melo actually does more to help his team. Do you guys know his record when Lebron doesn't play? 4-12. You want to know what happens when Kyrie is the #1 option/leader? Your team gets two #1 picks and a #4 pick.
1. LeBron James 2. Russell Westbrook 3. Kevin Durant 4. James Harden 5. Anthony Davis 6. Paul George 7. Kyrie Irving 8. Steph Curry 9. Kawhi Leonard 10. Draymond Green 11. Chris Paul 12. Ok...Kevin Love Points/Rebounds/Assist this season equals 33.8. Kyrie Irving Points/Rebounds/Assist this season equals 32.2. Kyrie gets to play on this Cavaliers team in a way that compliments his strengths while Love has to move far from the basket to make space for James. This limits Love's ability to get offensive rebounds, something he is very good at and forces him to take a lot of 3 point shots, not his best game. Love also plays 3 min less a game than Irving and takes 4 fewer shots a game. Neither is a good defender but Love seems a little better this year than he has been and maybe slightly better than Irving. When Love is on the floor with James the Cavs are very very good...when Love is off the floor and Irving is on the floor with James they are only very good. Irving scored 22 points a game in 2012-13 (pre James) and the Cavs finished 13th in the Eastern conference. In the 2013-14 season the Wolves finished 10th in the tougher western conference and Love scored 26 PPG with 12.5 RPG and 4.4 AST. Is Love a better player? I don't know, but it sure isn't a LOL question.
kyrie at 25 isnt "TURRIBLE" this isnt the best scale but he wasnt an all star and thats 24 players. its a "popularity contest" but only starters are voted in via social media AND every starter deserved to be there. love and hayward ahead of him is a whole nother story
Abdullahi M i personally wouldnt put him over rw, cp, curry, or lillard. lillard is debatable but not in my book. lillard took mccollum n scrub-pany to the playoffs yet without lbj, w/kyrie cle was a lotto team
Not even joking, Kyrie is overrated. He is a fantastic scorer and unstoppable on offence, but honestly, he is not as well rounded as a lot of players in the league.
Kyrie at 25 is strange especially when he's put Love above him but to have Draymond at 23? In terms of his importance to his team, Draymond is right up there, I mean he's not Lebron important but still, without him, the Warriors are a whole different story. Draymond is top 10-12.
Draymond benefits from playing with superstars he's not a top 10-12 player. He is valuable to the team yes but imagine you had to start a franchise. You would pick 50 players ahead of draymond. If he played for another team like the jazz im not even sure he would star over favors.
