Yup, I went to the same one, remembered when it opened. The cheese holes under the stage were huge with the kids. This one had the big tv in 1 room and the 'King' in another. By Northway Mall where Staples is now.
YES!!! I remember those!!! But I haven't thought about them in more than literally twenty years!!! That was some freaky shit back then. I was horrified by the "Munch Man" to the point where I wouldn't even go in the room if he was awake. Those were the good old days!
I'm sick of all the people calling the old stuff "creepy". The new shit is boring as fuck. I'd rather have "creepy" than watered down neutered crap with no entertainment at all. Also the arcade in 1987 was a bajillion times better than the "arcade" Chuck E. Cheese has now. But there's no footage of the arcade in this video :(
I miss Chuck E Cheese when it was like this! Does anyone remember it having a skating rink? I could swear I went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese in kindergarten and there was a skating rink too. My Chuck E Cheese was huge!
Yes...The clap board. It had things like an elephant trunk and hoofs, etc. They clapped at the end of each show. They phased it out after a few years. There was also a mechanical band that would play along with the songs. Also phased out.
I was the tech that worked on this show from 1988 to 1993. I work at the St pete florida location. In the 5 years I was there I went throu 2 remodels. It was one fun job.. I wonder what ever happen to all the old manager back then. Mike, Hamid, and Dennis.
Wow! Bringing back some memories here!!! We had the same set up in Ca. I just showed this to my 8 year old who is obsessed with FNAF and she thinks Chucky Cheese is scarier than Five Nights. lol.
The one I went to (in the early 80's) was in Albany, New York. Under the stage where the robots sing were a bunch of holes with linking tunnels where the kids could run in and out. I guess a lot of people would get hurt and or voimt in there so they borded it up.
Why is the stage/dining room so bright at Chuck e Cheese's now? I remember going in the 80's as a kid, and it was dark, like this. My best friend's daughter celebrated her 4th birthday at Chuck e's this year and the place was lit up like football stadium. Too much light! Why did they do that? It's supposed to give you a "theater" feel. Probably safety paranoia this generation is known for. The kids probably "couldn't see."
I remember when I was little, around the early 2000s I went to a chuck e cheese and they and the robots like characters on the stage, pasqually was supposed to blink but one of his eyes were broken so the whole time he was winking and moving his head up and down looking at helen hen, my grandmother was horrified.
Yes through 1980-2003 stages had what is called a balcony stage there was wood holding then up shaped like rectangles in 1986 they got the rocker stage which introduced the first full bodied bots then in 1990 the 3 stage came along which Also had full bodied bots by 1992 they had the 1 stage and by late 92 they had the 2 stage and I forgot to mention the c stage. The c stage is basically the balcony stage but made to look like the outdoors of a house by 1997 they had introduced the studio c which dominated the stores at this point there was only 1 balcony stage left and by 2003 all balcony stages were gone
Okay, I AM a huge FNAF fan, but I'm starting to get tired of people associating all animatronics with them. The game series was the reason I began to love animatronics in the first place, and they don't have the artificial intelligence (AI) to kill people like in FNAF. Also, their legs are fully attached to the ground and don't have any joints to move them. Sometimes, they don't even have legs.
+Cadetri Gaming Think of it as a tribute. Fnaf was a sendup to CEC/showbiz. I thought they were a little creepy at CEC as a kid, and apparently, I wasn't the only one, or fnaf wouldn't exist.
no NO the idea came from cec ok because there was a murder after hours of 5 people but only 4 got killed the 5th person got shot in the jaw and played dead so he was able to be the provider of evidence at the court to murderer eresst that should ring a bell and i heard about that on the news then i never wanted to go back untill my bruther had a birthday their i was forced to go i was 14 and i was to old for that baby stuff but my mom maid me to go their i was forced tomgo i did not want to go
I have a memory of being really young and being frightened that they may come out of their cubicles and eat me. Between acts the stage would not be lit and all the animotronic gang would just move their bodies, looking at each other and moving their freakish eyes.
The pizza back then was great. I know it got worse from the early to mid 1990s. I haven't been in a CEC since 1994, but I would guess that it continued to get worse over time. But in 1986-1991, it was great. And yes, the arcade was phenomenal. My favorite location also had a train, ball pit, and another back room to eat where the dog did an Elvis impersonation show (in addition to one of the rooms in this video (which also had a crawl space underneath the performers boxes)), and some other stuff
