I found this awesome gold nugget while metal detecting for gold in Australia's Golden Triangle. I hope you enjoy the video, please like if you did and subscribe if you want to see more gold!!
That red ironstone is very soft, and reminds me of a patch I had years back. I chucked the first bit in a acid bath, but it came out like honeycomb....so I left the rest as is. Nice find mate 🍺
Haha, dont worry i find plenty of those bastards too!! Found a few yesterday, but a few nugs too. ;) Stay tuned and good luck if your'e heading out this easter.
Ohh I really would love to find something like that to make a necklace for my son as a xmas gift, but here in Norway there's just no such things. Lovely looking nugget!
@@JayGoldNuggets not sure if you remember but a couple of years ago you were talking about doing some 'how to' videos. Just wondering if it's still on the cards? I also have a GPLead7000 but generally only find small bits. I reckon it's down to researching locations. Would love to know how you go about it?
Gday Rick, yeah mate, its actually been plaguing my mind lately. Im thinking of doing a series of short vids of tips onhow to find gold, but that means i have to dedicate a day/s to filming and and leave the detector in the car. Something i find hard to do!!! Ill get around to it one day, im aiming for this year, so thanks for your patients.
Great nugget J. Just wondering are you using a test piece to determine what settings you use in different areas. Or do you just have your go to settings that you use all the time with the GPZ? Hope that makes sense
Gday Mate, the settings change on the day, but not by much, i try and go as hard as i can handle at the time depending on the ground. I did a vid a few back where i explained what settings i mostly use. Once im done with a patch, ill go over it in general. Do frequent EMI noise cancellations as that can change over the day. Slow on the swing and that should put you in the ball park. Good luck
Hey J I spent 4 days at Kingower for no gold over easter. Just wondering do you scrape the ground with your detector? Or mainly just hover it an inch of the ground? I went through a lot of your old vides but couldn't make out an answer. Getting conflicting reports with the gpz. I used to scrape hard with my old sdc. And it worked for me. Not so much with the zed. Still was a glorious few days in the bush. Cheers again
Gday Mate, you are operating the SDC correct. That 8" coil needs to be pancaked flat and scraping the shit out if the ground. I used to wear out skid plates every month!! Not so with the GPZ. It needs to be hovered above the ground with minimal touching. According to a ML technician, if you scrape the GPZ coil on the ground, you encounter magnetic saturation and actually decrease depth/performance. This is defiantly the case with deeper targets. But when i work mullock heaps and hunt for small, shallow gold i scrape the GPZ coil on the ground as i reckon the closer you can get to the small stuff, the stronger the signal and hovering the coil a cm or so above the ground may just miss a small nug. Hope this helps. Good luck on your next trip and keep me posted. Cheers, JG
