OMG! These are sold in many places and I have LITERALLY SPENT the ENTIRE DAY searching for the Crochet Stitch to make this exact pot holder / trivet. Seeing those potholders in this video got me so excited that I could not wait to finish the video to tell you that.😄 I will watch the video now. 😊

Thanks! I'm certainly going to TRY!👍😀 I ordered rope yesterday for delivery today and I MADE a set of knitting needles this morning out of wooden 9mm dowels I already had on hand. Large knitting needles are too expensive if they'll only get used a few times and making them was easy. Thanks again! 🙏 Oh, btw, I subscribed. 👍😀

You are amazing and awesome for sharing this! ♥️ I now know why I could NOT find a "CROCHET" PATTERN for this potholder even though I spent the entire day searching. It's because IT'S "KNITTED"! 🤣😂🤣 Most every listing I found selling this potholder/trivet advertised it as being a crocheted item and I could not figure out which crochet stitch it was using. I am not a knitter either, but you did such a wonderful job with this tutorial that I think I can do this. I just need to get some SUPER HUGE knitting needles and some rope. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, SO MUCH! 🙏 I can now make myself some of these wonderful potholders and move on to a different project. 😊 Have a great day!

I bought the 6mm cotton cord but used size 9 needles. size of needles shouldn't make any difference. The larger needles will just give it that chunky look. I bought bamboo needles also. When I proceeded to make this, I found it was very, very hard to slide the cotton yarn over the bamboo needles. It was so tough I ended up giving up. I am knitter of many years and have make many things but this was very hard to make. Can you give me any suggestions please. I love this!

I agree, it is harder than using yarn for sure! I had to keep mine loose, otherwise I couldn't get it to slide. If it is grabbing on your needles, maybe rub wax paper on the needles??

❓❓❓Hi! I don't know if this matters but when I follow your link for the knitting needles, it tells me "No Featured Offers Available" and gives the option to look at other listings to purchase them from so I assume there's a POSSIBLE disconnect with your affiliate link that may prevent you from gaining commissions on the sale of the knitting needles. I could be mistaken because I don't know how that stuff works works but you did such a wonderful job on your tutorial that I would hate for you to miss out on commissions (no matter how large or small) only because something was broken. ❓❓❓Please help... I have a question.❓❓ First, let me just say, "Yaaaay!" and "Thank you again !". I finished it and it looks amazing BUT... MY ONLY PROBLEM is I don't know how to deal with the frayed ends of the rope after securely weaving 3 to 4 inches them in. I trimmed the ends very closely but they continue to fray and poke out where they can be seen and that looks horrible. I'm assuming you can't use glue because potholders are used for high heat objects so how do I resolve the fraying so it'll look perfect? PS - sorry if my comment was duplicated. Something weird happened when posting.

Part of your issue with knitting may be because you are using the American technique of knitting, which tends to be very awkward because you are moving your right hand on and off with each stitch. If you would learn the continental technique, you might find it easier to do, faster and less cumbersome. The cording is great for the style and thickness of the potholder.

@TamLou64
@TamLou64 Месяц назад
This is my 3rd attempt to answer you. LOL! 😄 It keeps getting wiped out before posting it.😡 Ok, here goes... ▪️ The first loop is the Slip Knot she put on the needle that had the long tail. ▪️ Then she cast on 12 loops which makes a total of 13 loops. (I was baffled by this at first too). ▪️ The knitting stitch used is called the Garter Stitch in case you want to look at other videos using this Stitch. (I searched a video for the Garter Stitch and found videos that showed how to make the sides even and professional looking like the bottom's V shapes. It's not necessary but I preferred it). ⭐⭐Some really great, although unsolicited, info: ⭐⭐ I don't think I could have Knitted this (or anything else) without this particular video though because she gave very good instructions. I have NEVER KNITTED anything in my life until I made this potholder and it turned out great even if I do say so myself. 😊 So... if I can do it, you can too! TO SAVE $, make yourself 2 SETS of WOODEN KNITTING NEEDLES FOR UNDER $2 vs buying them on Amazon for $13+ by doing the following: ▪️Buy one 48" Long wooden dowel with a 7/16" diameter (it's the closest diameter to the suggested needle diameter). Cut it into 4 even lengths of 16". Sharpen the ends to a point with the large hole of a pencil sharpener. Use fine grit sandpaper OR a fine grit fingernail file to smooth out the point and any rough edges. (When selecting my dowel, I chose the smoothest available but the point will still need to be sanded smooth after sharpening it). BTW, I bought my dowel at Home Depot for $1.24 and made 2 sets. I used their saw to cut my four 16" Lengths. Okie dokie, that's it. I hope this info is helpful. Best wishes to ya'!😊
