I love the way that you meticulously take the time and pride to repair each pair of shoes like a work of art. You have opened my eyes to what l used to take for granted as putting on the right shoe with the right outfit. Thanks again for these beautiful videos,glad to be a subscriber.

I‘d rather watch Steve recording these videos on his “less pro” equipment than a some 2000$ camera. It gives me a down to earth real life vibe, feel like watching an old friend doing his job on the side. Perhaps this is why I watch Steve’s video much more than Brian the Boot Maker (don’t get me wrong I like Brian too lol).

I thoroughly enjoy your presentations, and today's insight about not getting bent out of shape due to negative comments was refreshing to hear. Lots of videos are all about sarcasm, irony and hedonism i.e. " this is the best", "I'm the best", "their way is wack". It appeals to some but I think your audience just enjoys the minutia of craftsmanship you put into it, and the witty banter that accompanies it is endearing. This is my favorite channel to play while I'm at work. Keep showing more things and different things, but don't change how you present. Microphone - slightly muffled but your levels are spot on. Maybe position the mic slightly closer to you. Content - can you set off each project identifying the maker, the approximate year of manufacture and level of quality (custom shoe, high end manufacturer, low-end mass producer) make comments on what you understand to be the philosophy of why makers execute the certain construction you see? (tradition, economics, materials logistics, prevailing thoughts of the era). I understand that everything can be fixed, but that depends on the mileage of your wallet. So, how about some low end restorations (ebay shoe with bare minimum resole and heel) Great channel! I hope one day to have some footwear for you to grace.

Who feels comfortable enough to walk around in shoes with holes in the sole? I think I have a good practice of religiously inspecting my footwear for signs of wear each time I take them off or go to put them on.

I grew up in Brazil where friends would drop by unannounced and hang out. It was VERY different than how friends spend time in America (I live in Texas). Watching Steve making these videos feels like the good ole days where friends dropped by unexpectedly, you had a good time hanging out, then you continue on to whatever you were doing. I don't know that much about shoe brands; so, when I saw 'Church' shoes, I thought the customer only wore them to church. Like Sunday Go To Meeting shoes...haha

Audio and video are much better. Nice improvement! Church shoes are pretty conservative so the restoration was perfect. Nice workmanship.

Just got back from some oral surgery (had three wisdom teeth and a molar taken out) and really enjoyed seeing a new video. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I thought the video quality was super duper good and I think the audio is much better too. Sometimes I could just barely hear you speaking even with headphones in and the volume all the way up. Still loved the past videos and thanks for giving us a glimpse into your world.

Great job - it is amazing to me that the uppers were in as good a shape as they were given the wear on the soles and heels. As a service to you because I like you so much, I have decided to forewarn you of comments to come to prepare you and lessen the blow when you read them. You left a few steps out like dying the soles and etching the pattern on the edge of the soles. And God forbid, at about 20:04 the video pixelated for an eternity, like two seconds at least!! Ruined the whole video!! Fortunately for you I have decided to forgive these errors and will instead just wait with baited breath for your next leather goods transformation.

The new clip on microphone seems better overall with some buffering or noise masking (could be phone hardware / software based.) There may be another software tweak (App) for that. Maybe a suite of video editing software for iPhone 11. But this repair does have good Hammer Time.

Nice work as usual! I used to do that all the time wear out my souls like that! I would sometimes get them fixed depending on how much I paid for the shoes, I had I think about 3 pairs of Bostonian's and probably every type of Personally I think they look AWESOME Steve! Again you are not just a everyday Cobbler, you are an ARTIST and the shoes, bags ect.. are your canvases! Watching you do what you do relaxes me! Years and years ago I managed a Agnew store (Ashton, Aggies) here in Canada, actually 3 store's but not @ the same time lol I was there for close to 10 years! As you know Agnew sold 1 of your most favorite shoe Jarman and I probably had almost every style they made, not now unfortunately! I have no idea what happened to them, wish I still had them! Very good remark about reading messages/texts in general.. Most people cant understand that there's no emotion in texts and most people don't have the skill to express it in a written form.. So you cant take a message at its basic form and read negativity in them. Like you, I try to read niceness in any messages I receive at first unless its clear the sender is being ugly... You'll find that a lot of people think their helping by sending those messages.... Even tho common sense would tell most people you knew about the little hick up's on the video you edited and posted....lol........Side Note,,I went to give you a thumbs up but it would have made me number 666 on that so I left it at 665...lol... Hello,I stumbled across your video and watched you bring back to life a lovely pair of churches Brouges , of which I am an owner of and have not worn for years, so I dug them out of the wardrobe, on inspection they are full of dust and the leather on the uppers is very dry- laces are missing - they cost me good money, but being that I was raised in northampton England, home of churches shoes, you have spurred me on to get some conditioner wax and polish for them and start wearing them again ,cheers

The video and the audio is fine. Big difference in the color balance. Excellent for watching a shoe repair. I would really like to see in a future video, how you clean and condition the uppers. I want to take better care of my shoes and the tons of other videos on line all contradict themselves. I trust your judgement and work on what works and what does not. Just a simple request.

The negative comments bring as much money for your video as the positive comments, that's just how the monetization works on RU-vid, just like the thumbs up are equal to thumbs down money-wise, no difference.

I stream on twitch and my first 4 months was off my iPhone, after numerous “suggestions” we moved to mics and cams - now it’s more of a pain syncing and leveling audio. 🤣 Also, I love how messy your workshop is - I feel less self-conscious about myself seeing other people comfortable with a little controlled chaos.

As a furniture restorer I prefer to tackle pieces that are in a poor state (within reason), that way I can make a real difference and feel the customer is getting their money's worth. iPhone 11 or whatever, it's all witchcraft to me, but the quality is great. Thanks for posting.

you are absolutely right, sometimes i comment something in the best and most positive intention. than I read it 2 days later and I think, what a jerk comments like this. it's really a problem to not be able to transport the facial expression and body language. a if one is a negative person it's easy to misunderstand a positively meant comment in a negative way. I think the most people on you channel are positive, as you are... not that crazy positive but positive ;) I hope you'll got that right ;) I'm really sorry about your ornament :( if it wouldn't be some thousand kilometers,I would love to repair it for you.

I was in the same issue your were in trying to get good audio while using my Sony camera for some of my channel's videos. Now I use a Zoom H1 audio recorder with my lapel microphone with my Sony camera (which has no external audio jack). By the way your video looks and sounds great. Another great video and very nice workmanship. I wish I could afford to have you fix my favorite boots...lol... See you in the next one.
