The crystals could be big chunks or lots of small chucks. Over the years I’ve noticed the overall size (once they’ve fully grown) could be big or small.

+TDNomad I've been using them for some time now. I like them. They do work. At 1st I didnt. They only lasted 1 month before they needed replacing. (I even used their seasoning packs) They didnt give off the range of RH (Relative Humidity) that they claimed. But then they became stable & worked. Its like it took time to adjust itself in my box. Before you use the packs season your humidor using the Boveda seasoning packs. Now my packs avg 2 months before they needed replacing. The packs I have in my box right now are 2 months, 2 weeks old. They still have some life left in them. I may do a video on them.

***** Guess ill be ordering some seasoning packs. I hope I have good luck with them. Ive read a few reviews where they say these do & do not work. It seems like it didnt work for you at 1st. Maybe thats why the other say it doesnt work because they didnt give it much time to "set it." Thanks anyways. If I remember to do so ill report back my finding.

1st make sure your tube crystal humidifier is new or fairly new. (Replace it every 6-12 months.) If it is new/fairly new, remove it & replace it with a (basic) small round or rectangle sponge humidifier. Really only add the crystal humidifier if your basic sponge humidifier isn't cutting it. Humidity range of 68-75% is more like it IMHO. 76% & above is high IMO. Yes humidity will jump all around & it's hard to just keep it at certain %. Most say a range of 65-75% is where you want to be. Some may say 67-78% is where you want to be.

***** Yes my tube crystal humidifier is pretty new. I guess that my humidity numbers aren't that bad after all. I will remove the tube crystal humidifier, & replace it with the round humidifier that came with my box. Thanks for your help.

+TDieselz 303to702 Yeah, it's fine. Just keep up with seasoning, and keep track of the humidity %. Add/remove your humidifiers when need be. Something I forgot to mention. Don't keep your humidor in a non vented room, on a window ledge/direct sunlight, or on a warm surface. That will mess with humidity. Years ago when I 1st got into cigars. I kept my humidors in my walk in closet. My humidity/temp was all over the place. Mainly around 65%. Sometimes as low as 62% & as high as 67%. Plus make sure the lid is always closed, and that the box is in good shape. Not showing any signs of wear, cracks, or holes.

***** Those are great to use. You should know 1st what humidity % range that you want/like & if you live in a dry area get a higher RH pack. High humidity area get a lower RH pack. The RH levels packs. 75) 71-75%, 72) 68-72%, 69) 65-69%, 65) 61-65%. The RH numbers come in 62, 65, 69, 72, 75, & 84 RH. The 84 RH is really only for seasoning use. They last 2-4 months. But you can recharge them. Look up how to recharge them on. Its real easy. Wooden humidors Boveda packs needed based on humidor capacity. (1 pack for every 25 cigars.) Boveda Packs - Humidor Capacity 1- 25. 2 - 50. 3 - 75. 4 - 100. 6 - 150. 8 - 200. 10 - 250.

Are you talking about the humidifier fluid solution? If so, yes you can, but using regular distilled water is much cheaper, & easier to find. Humidifier fluid solution is mainly to help acclimate/maintain the humidity.
