Thank you for calling out on this director's BS. Spewing out facts that don't apply to the modern context is despicable. Well, that's because Zootopia made sure that neither the predators nor the prey were the bad guys. And even when the predators were being treated as such, it's because somebody (not saying who for spoilers) manipulated it to be that way.
That movie was just another *Song of the South* ripoff and a piece of outright copaganda. Jason Bateman owes reparations to people of color, especially Gay men of color. I accept “nature’s credit card.” His sister was the more interesting actor between the two of them, and she deserved her Emmy nominations for *Family Ties,* but she refuses to play the Hollywood game and he does not, and so he gets parts that are above his pay grade.
I posted this on Facebook some time ago, but I think it bears repeating here: These are dark and confusing times, there is no denying that. Our country is in a great state of turmoil and we're all struggling to figure out what to do right now. However, we (and I mean people on both political sides) will never get anywhere if we end up devolving to the level of second-grade playground bullies in our discourse. Name-calling and personal insults will only further divide us as US citizens. Statements like "You lost. Trump is our president. Get over it."; "All Trump supporters are idiots", or calling others names like "special snowflakes" or "crazy liberals" for daring to disagree with Trump are unhelpful and do not further public debate and discourse. Both sides need to stop doing this and converse about our beliefs as adults, speaking in a mature manner. Yes, Trump is now our President. I accept that fact. However, I do still have the right to respectfully disagree with him if he makes a decision I do not particularly care for. That is the beauty of our democracy. Simply disagreeing with him does not make me a "snowflake" or a "mainstream media slave." It means I have my own opinion and am free to voice it as I wish. If you disagree with me, I will be happy to debate respectfully with you. However, if you call me names or make insults about my personal appearance simply because of my opinion, I will not respond to you. Be an adult, not a schoolyard bully. Let's keep this discussion on an adult level.
The Democrats aren't disagreeing with Trump, they've engaged in a campaign of conspiracy mongering to delegitimize him. What's annoying and creepy is that they don't even know what the crime that they're looking for. WTF is "colluding with the Russians" supposed to mean?
Charlesvan, they're looking for evidence that Trump or his team was in contact with the Russians to help them interfere with the election. We already know the Russians interfered, the question is was Trump or his team in on it? If so, that will likely result in him and Pence getting thrown out of office and a wave of support for the Democrats since that will basically prove the election was stolen. The Democrats are throwing a Hail Mary here, if it's caught, the Democrats will end up in control of Congress and the WH by 2020. While I project a Democratic President in 2020, I doubt they'll take the House and the Senate will be a razors edge. If Trump colluded with the Russians, we have a whole new ball game.
According to some crazy person on Facebook, you're supporting Trump by saying that not all his supporters are deplorables. Nevermind being civil, everyone now thinks "If you're not apart of the solution, you're apart of the problem." Everyone is so intolerant...
+Chris Martindale Good god! And you believe that mumbo jumbo? No one seriously believes that Trump and Pence contacted the Russians to help them steal DNC emails. We don't even know the Russia government was behind it. Podesta fell for a simple phishing email, that anyone who knows computers could do. That's the point I was making in my comment. You're looking for a conspiracy without evidence. You want to bring down Trump, so you're trying to will this fantasy into existence. Reality doesn't work that way. And it's already backfiring on the Democrats. We know that Susan Rice was unmasking names of Trump officials in wiretapped conversations, and most likely done for political reasons. The only material evidence uncovered in this witch hunt is a potential serious problem for the Democrats.
This might be my least favorite review by you. Not because of you, personally, but because of the material itself. I could feel my brains turning into ooze and leaking out of my ears while watching the brief clips. Now I understand why Brad Jones and his friend walked out of this shitfest. Whatever comes next will be a breeze. Run-of-the-mill stupidity I can handle, but conspiracy theory stupidity is too much.

Lol, I go to Dartmouth and am friends with most of the current leaders of the Dartmouth Review (I am not conservative, btw). They are ridiculously embarrassed by Dinesh D'Souza. They hate him and hate that he ever wrote for them.
The other hilariously ironic thing: considering the era during which he attended Dartmouth, he himself was likely an affirmative action admit. There's a reason most alumni prefer to mention Dr. Seuss among our most famous alumni and not D'Souza.
Leroset Well when you have the choice between one of the most celebrated children's book authors/illustrators and a jackass who's leaching off the Trump bandwagon because it's the only chance he has for anyone to take him seriously.
*omegafacepalm* Oh wow. D'Souza would fit right in perfectly with Mr. Trump. Sigh. How did Einstein say? "The only things that are endless are the universe and human stupidity. Though I'm not entirely sure about the universe." D'Souza is a perfect example for this.

Oh boy, I know how the majority of the comments are gonna go... And I'll just sum up my view, so those that are really aggressive, can get it out of their system. I think the person that made this film is an absolute idiot. No I do not like Hillary, but that does not change the sheer gravity of stupidity it takes to make blatantly misleading if not false .... 'movies' like this.
And I am HIGHLY concerned how many people are actually going to buy into it. And I'm a Republican myself, but even I will not hesitate to call out bullshit when I see it.
Even in the current day of things, I think this movie sucking massive eggs sort of shows how much the general movie going public really cared about it. It's like Saving Christmas in we have a person who thinks they're saying deep shit but in the end no one cared about the movie. The only difference is I haven't heard the man behind this film begging people to give it a higher rating on Rotten Tomatoes but if he has, correct me.
May I ask you something? Not out of malice, I'm legitimately trying to understand your position. Even with the farce the GOP has fallen into, why do you still call yourself republican? Would you consider yourself centrist? Why or why not? What values do conservatives collectively share that appeal to you?
I suppose a better way to put it WOULD probably be a centrist that has very slightly right leanings. I do believe that people should have the right to own a gun, but I don't believe in just giving every average joe off the street a gun. Like if it's used for hunting purposes or are a member of law enforcement, yeah, I believe they're capable of the responsibilities that come with owning one. I do think that background checks could help control what kind of immigrants we let into the country, but I am not anti-immigrant entirely. I understand why abortions are so controversial, but that's one of those situations where you have to take it on a case-by-case basis. These are all very broad topics that the black-and-white mentality of both parties are not even willing to compromise on just out of spite for the other party.
I agree, the guy was an idiot. I mean if you want to make a film about how bad the Democratic party is in your opinion, and you want to point to old events, then point out that when it came time to vote to give women the right to vote, and "Blacks" the right to vote that both times it was passed on party lines and it was the republicans that voted yes they should get the right to vote. I'm not a republican and even I know that talking point.
This is why I don't like to talk about politics. Because I don't care about political opinions, and I don't like pissing people off. And I don't like getting pissed off, myself. So yeah, I'm glad I didn't watch this movie. I would've erupted like a volcano.
+Matthew Cool It is not about the people you piss off, it's about how they will handle their emotions. I for one don't give a shit about politics, and have no political views whatsoever. If I'm gonna be pissed at anything, it would be the movie itself. Because it failed to be entertaining. Even the worst movies of that year had a few glimpses of entertainment, even Suicide Squad, a movie critics despised, has more entertainment value, than this.
+Matthew Cool That's good. I never live talking about politics, because all the in-fighting pisses me off anyway. Because any talks about politics results in people acting like fucking children crying about which is better, and people become complete assholes. Whether if it's politicians or famous RU-vidrs, if you act like a child and make childish fights on politics, chances are I will hate you.
Which is why I hate people like PeanutButterGamer, because he let his political views control his emotions and talked shit about JonTron. For having different political views than him. That's fucking despicable. JonTron didn't do anything wrong, and yet that's what led to people calling JonTron a Nazi. Fuck PBG and Fuck Zelda. Thanks PBG, now I hate Zelda.
TheHeroOfTomorrow nailed it. I tried to watch this movie a few days ago, and no matter how you slice it, Liberal or Conservative, it’s a horribly made movie.

Bad news Smeghead: you're not done reviewing crappy propaganda. This year's Worst Picture winner is Absolute Proof, a propaganda piece about the 2020 election from My Pillow creator and long time Trump supporter Mike Lindell. When you get to that, all I have to say is good luck.
Yep, my friends and I saw that in a Discord session. The amount of nonsense that could be disproved with a simple Google Search is too much to count. On top of that, the presentation of the documentary was just terrible. There was so much stock footage, he kept interrupted the guests, one guest clearly had a reflection of a Word Document in his glasses etc. He was just talking non-stop, it was nauseating. I may not agree with all of the Razzies takes (especially for that year), but I think I can agree with giving that one Worst Picture honours.
I don't think they look anything alike! D'Souza looks like a shrivelled toad. You think they look alike just b/c they are both of Indian descent? And what D'Souza does is DESTRUCTIVE & MANIPULATIVE. They are nothing alike.
Smeg, please don't do more movies like this. You seem to genuinely dislike reviewing this one. You are quite entertaining when you are enjoying tearing a bad movie apart but this time the review itself seemed to give you no joy. Don't put yourself through that.
oh boy, here we go... *grabs popcorn I'm ready to venture into these comments, this should be fun. seriously though, even as a republican I find this movie to still be incredibly idiotic.
I remember seeing this on the shelves at Walmart when I worked there, and completely forgot about it until this review. Thanks for uncovering a repressed memory.
I know that this movie was gonna be a doozy. I tried to stay away from the infamous US elections since it was everywhere. All I can say is that regardless of who won, idiocy can be found on the left and in the right. And this is why I don't like politics. Looking forward for your next review
No. Liberals believe in education. Trump supporters resent the "elite" (educated people), disparage higher education, & believe tweets from Trump or Sean Hannity re COVID-19 over warnings from epidemiologists. Slime like D'Souza WANT a nation of idiots who don't know history or who think science is just an opinion b/c then they can tell a deceptive story like this film does & MANIPULATE people to hate fellow Americans & to believe what D'Souza tells them is true. Any educated person would not fall for this type of propaganda. Today's Republicans & far-right extremists want the public to be overworked, undereducated, & angry b/c they can manipulate them more easily. The GOP would do away w/ public schools if they could & have all private schools & if you couldn't afford it, too bad. Bernie wanted to make college free for everyone. Liberals believe in science, in libraries, in public schools, in research, & they fund those things. Conservatives would cut funding to all these things b/c they believe EVERYTHING should be privatized (which is why they've been trying to destroy the U.S. Post Office for years), & only those that can afford it should have access to college, libraries, etc. There is no concept of "we" among today's Republicans; it's all about "I". Anything that is about "we" is just labeled socialism (a dog whistle to their rabid supporters) & they've brainwashed Americans into thinking anything socialist is bad, no matter how well it works or how many people it helps. The Free Market is their GOD, even if they give lip service to the Christian God. So no,- there are WAY more idiots who are conservatives, b/c the conservatives deliberately keep them that way. It's not a matter of "both sides do it." You can't say that a well-educated populace are "idiots". And D'Souza is a troll.
Look, there's no point of arguing with people on this. The Backfire Effect will kick in for everyone. For those who don't know what that is, it is when people face evidence or arguments that contradict their beliefs but it just causes them to hold onto their beliefs even more. People in general don't want to be wrong, even if they are factually incorrect.
All attacks on conservatism, especially conservatives of color, fall under that category. This is just another bitter neoliberal screed by a failure against somebody who actually made multiple movies and got people to see them. And keep in mind he is doing this while reinforcing the same bourgeois pseudo-mainstream opinions on what constitutes bad movies and still getting it wrong.
This movie as a whole feels like something that is better saved for a RU-vid style documentary vs something THAT PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR! C'MON NOW! (a few moments later) HOLY SHIT, THIS IS SAVING CHRISTMAS FOR THE ELECTION! The-! The Klansman hallucination! I can't stop laughing at how fucking stupid that was! Holy and shit did they really think that was a good idea, that something like that would prove something!? Oh my god, someone had to WRITE that scene out, someone had to DIRECT it, SOMEONE HAD TO ACT IT! "Yeah, now I want you to look at the screen and your reaction is of that of complete AWE as the make-believe KKK member flies over you on a horse! Good! GOOD! Now-! Now run outside! Yes, run like you're chasing after a rainbow unicorn! YES! PERFECT! CUT!' Also, I think I know where they got the inspo for young Hillary's behavior from as I have seen it far too recently with some people who DON'T know how to debate and turn to mocking. Nope, not our Boy Donnie since they've been in videos long before this shit even got started but various others who aren't in the political spectrum but like to pretend they are. I can only guess they were doing this to sort of say she's like that but.....no. No, you don't do that. And now that I think about it, why is this documentary whatever the fuck it is being told like this anyway? I said it was like Saving Christmas for just this reason because it's OVER-ACTED and not really an expose or a documentary. It's not even a period piece. Specials on History and PBS do a far better job with reenactments. I really can't say anything else other than they expected people to PAY for this in theaters? NOPE, FUCK DAT NOISE.
It could be worse. He could make a documentary where he tries to convince you that Hitler was a liberal. No, really, that's literally the main point of his latest movie.
Being a vegan or an artist has zero baring on your political affiliation (Bush is a painter), and the Nazis were about as socialist as North Korea is a democratic people's republic.
Also, it's not his fault at all, but not all high schools teach about the history of the Democratic party. It tends to be the more liberal states that teach this, mainly in AP US History (not sure if taught in regular US history, I mainly had AP courses in high school). Yes, Democrats were the original slave owners and segregationists but both parties began "switching" platforms after the Civil War with the rise of Dixiecrats and Southern Democracy. Dixiecrats were basically the original Southern plantation owners and politicians who agreed with slave laws and segregational laws. The northern states (the Union states) were still identified as Democrats but were much more progressive than the Dixiecrats. tl;dr Democrat > Southern Democract/Dixiecrat > Old School Republicans Whig > Republican > Northern Democrat > Democrat Modern day Republican Party is on the right but not as far right as Old School Republicans or even the GOP (they deserve their own section). This shift would last and wouldn't exactly be set in stone until I believe the 70s or 80s. www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2015/06/25/417154906/dixies-long-journey-from-democratic-stronghold-to-republican-redoubt
Graham Kristensen The same universe where a mediocre Twilight fanfic (I can't believe I'm suggesting that there's possibly good Twilight fanfics out there) gets published and becomes a best-seller and a successful (box-office wise) movie franchise.
I think I remember seeing a trailer for this movie when watching God's Not Dead 2 in theaters. And the only reason I chose to watch that movie was because I was with family and had to choose something at the theater that we hadn't seen yet (theater was getting new seats and thus movie selection was strikingly limited). It was a fun time. Helps that I was diagnosed with depression around that time.
This movie... This fucking movie... I can't find the right words, so I'm going to let the Cinema Snob speak for me (from his Last Ounce of Courage Review): "Idiots. Idiots made this movie. This movie is written and directed by fucking idiots. Idiots made this film because they know just how idiotic a person would have to be in order to buy this idiot porn." Because that's the movie in a nutshell. It's not made to start a debate, it's not made to educate, it's made to divide people in a time where people are the most divided. I'm not even American (I'm Canadian) and even I could call bullshit on most of what I saw (yes, we did get the histories of political party in history classes, even in Canada, since our education department was obsessed with high schoolers learning about the "new world" over the other time periods). Something I've noticed, though. There was some archival footage (unless Sean added them in the review) of news shows, but I couldn't find a single piece of actual documentary footage in this documentary. Only re-enactments. No interviews, no footage of D'Souza meeting people, nothing. I haven't seen the movie (since I want to save some brain cells), but is there at least SOME documentary footage in this "documentary? Even the establishing shots were taken from old stock footage (that looks like old VHS from the 80s).
And this is why I don't give one shit about Politics, it's pretty much just groups of people either saying the other person sucks, coming up with crazy reasons for why they suck or in the case of this movie, spending money to invent reasons for why they suck. As such I remain neutral
There is no such thing as neutrality. Not taking sides is taking sides. Saying you don’t care is caring enough to make such a statement. The idea that the enemy’s point of view is equally valid is not just morally wrong, it’s treason.
I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that D'souza's latest so-called movie "2000 mules" not only didn't win worst picture at the razzies, but it wasn't even nominated. What in heavens name were they thinking????

He’s coming back this year with “Death Of A Nation”, where he compares (the guy who pardoned him a.k.a.) Donald Trump’s presidency to Abraham Lincoln’s. I can’t wait...
Tipsy Viewer So he would compare Trump, a guy who was hated right from the beginning with no perception-changer in sight to the president who, while having a rough start, was eventually beloved (not to mention, his image was arguably boosted when he was tragically made a martyr when he was assassinated only a few days after the civil war. Trump is obviously still alive and I doubt that he will be seen as a saint if he gets killed (that is IF he gets killed))?
Cade Thumann We would probably have to wait for proper context in a few decades to get a fair perception, but I don’t see someone like Trump doing something on scale as abolishing slavery and telling by D’Souza’s track record, I’m smelling some Trump ass kissing this August.
Tipsy Viewer Forgive my ignorance but I have forgotten about Reagan from my history classes. Though I will say, at least his name doesn't sound as silly as "Donald Trump".
Why can't we have more politically neutral guys like the reviewer of this movie in the White House instead? HE should be President, not Trump, Biden, Hillary, etc.
I came back here to check to see if it still up (great) and at the same time I am wondering why this is still up but Brad's review gets taken down, twice!
No, it aged like the finest French champagne while this video doesn’t even qualify for the test of time. Everything he accuses Dinesh D’Souza of doing, he is doing himself.
