From the Age of Sigmar Website:
Warhammer Age of Sigmar is more than a game - it’s a hobby. Build armies of plastic warriors, paint your models, and take them to the tabletop to play fast-paced games and tell your own stories within the Mortal Realms.
From the 40K Website:
In the 41st Millennium, warring factions from ancient civilisations and upstart empires fight endless battles across innumerable worlds. Humanity stands alone, beset on all sides by the heretic, the mutant, and the alien. There is no mercy. There is no respite. Prepare yourself for battle.

I just had my army set pre-order confirmed at my LGS so I guess I'll find out first hand soon!

The cavaliers look really sick, and I love the dual dueler haha. They've got the kind of Bretonia aesthetic from Fantasy, which is really nice.

Couldn't agree more! It's easily my favourite aesthetic in AoS that I've seen so far.

This set is basically the beginning and ending of all of the units in the army that I actually like. All of the others take the idea of a grounded human faction and just throw it right out the window. That's the only reason I was interested in these guys. Not because of magical nonsense.

I can understand that, but at least there are still some units like the fusiliers and the big cannon?

@@mysidia91 Fusiliers are holding metal rifles and bayonets on heavy wood poles, mounted on heavy wood shields, topped with heavy metal filigree, with heavy metal chains dangling from the bottom, while wearing the same metal armor that the other troops are wearing. I'm shocked the shields aren't on wheels. It still wouldn't have made the miniatures work, but it would have at least have made more sense than imagining these guys being murdered by their own provisions as they walk hundreds if not thousands of miles carrying all that. Not to mention the fact that those are matchlock cannons. The earliest firearm ever made. Less efficient than any other type, even bows and arrows to a large extent. They're the slowest, most inaccurate, primitive version of a gun that could really only be justified by some kind of magic being involved. Which is what that metal wizard is probably there for. He's the guy who does it. It's more magical nonsense. The cannon looks great but it really looks like it's stuck where it is and can't move at all. I'm familiar enough with GW to tell you it will be able to move and fire every single turn. I'll still make an exception for it since the miniature at least makes sense within its own context. Same for the captain on the horse.

You bring up a lot of good points about the feasibility of those models actually working in the lore they are described in 😅. I can see how the new models aren't in line with what you were hoping for.

@@mysidia91 The best explanation I can give these guys (which is more thought than the designers put in) is that those cogforts I've heard about are just glorified settlers' wagons and the dawnbringers just use them to store all of this stuff as they travel. I'll make that my headcanon.
