@juliodelgadillo8510 slow down, you're clearly a newbie jumping head first and overspending. Trust me, in 5 years you will have wished you saved up and studied and bought 5 nice watches rather than 15 okay watches. I did the same thing with many hobbies when I was young. Years ago I did the same thing with knives and guns and pens and other man hobbies. In each thing, I wish I would have spent the same amount of money but on like 1/3rd of the number of things I bought, if that makes sense. Lol, I did that same thing with jiu jitsu gis and boxing gloves when I first got into BJJ and muay Thai 10 years ago. I have like 20 gis but I wish I would have 7 very nice ones instead of like 2 very nice ones and a bunch of medium level ones. Same with gloves, I wish I had like 2 pairs of custom Winning brand gloves rather than 8 pairs of Fairtexs and other mid level brands. Stop where you're at and don't buy another for at least a year. One thing I've learned in every hobby I've been involved in is that your tastes mature and change as you continue. Things I thought were cool in the first year of the hobbies I eventually found to be corny or brash or crude a few years later.
@user-oe9mn8uw3c
@user-oe9mn8uw3c Месяц назад
Why? If you have the cash and really enjoy it.
@Silence-and-Violence
@Silence-and-Violence Месяц назад
@user-oe9mn8uw3c because if you continue in the hobby your taste will mature and develop and you will regret moat of the amateur purchases you made and wish you had fewer, better pieces instead of more, lower quality ones. Unless you're so rich that money almost doesn't matter, then do whatever you want. But most of us are only going to be able to spend so much money in a lifetime on any given hobby. So if I'm going to spend $10k on watches in my lifetime, I can tell you from experience with many other hobbies that most people will have preferred to spread $10k across 2-5 pieces rather than 20 cheaper pieces. The same is true for me and almost everyone I know who continued enjoying things like watches, pens, knives, firearms, etc.

So many brands who make more affordable integrated bracelet watches (CW, Tissot, Citizen, Direnzo etc) are missing a trick IMHO by not making 38mm versions. Its probably the perfect size for this type of watch for a lot of wrist sizes yet no one seems to have made one yet?

Citizen has been a major player in the watch world since the 70s - it's just been overshadowed by Seiko and Casio, but as far as I'm concerned, Citizen beats them both in many aspects (not all) and it was the first watch I ever purchased as a teenager 20+ years ago. This new release is no different, it punches WAY above its weight class and it's finished well. And since I'm here I'll also remind folks how Citizen was also the very FIRST watch brand to implement and utilize titanium (I'll stay away from mentioning Eco-Drive because we're talking automatics) cool video Max 👍

I own both a Tsuyosa (ice blue) and a PRX (dark blue), and while the Citizen is a really nice, everyday watch with great finishing and a beautiful bracelet, after almost a year it still didn't "click". Everytime I wear my PRX, I just can't stop looking at it. The stunning bracelet that shimmers in the light, the sunburst dial that ranges from an almost black tone to a breathtaking navy blue, the handset, the indices.... I feel like to me, the overall package is more coherent and pleasing for the eyes than the Tsuyosa's. Again, just my 2 cents. But it's interesting to see other perspectives and opinions - that's what's so great about our hobby after all! 🥰

I bought three Tsuyosas on vacation just a couple of weeks ago on a cruise. One on the ship (Tiffany), one in Turks and Caicos (green) and one in the Bahamas (yellow). Tsuyosa always should have been 36-38mm, but if it had to be 40mm I don't understand why they didn't use a daydate movement in it. PRX is king. The fact that these brands are trying to make competition with it is proof of that! This watch is nice but the PRX (Especially the 35mm) is perfect. Thin, tapering bracelet, solid. @maxwellpowell4306
@maxwellpowell4306 2 месяца назад
For me the biggest difference between the two is not the movement, I don't mind quartz, but in fact the bracelet. Being an integrated bracelet watch I do think that's the most important part and the bracelet on the PRX is just better. It feels higher quality, the clasp is miles better, it looks better (imo) and that wrist roll is unbeatable for the price. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe Citizen (Miyota) does use plastic parts within the date complication on the regular Tsuyosa but I could be wrong.

Them getting rid of the date complication is a smart move too, I tried the original Tsuyosa and the crown was too much a PITA to change just the date, so having it only be needed to adjust the time makes a big difference imo. Might look at getting this, as I have 7.75 inch wrists and need something a bit dressier!

In addition to the dial texture (no real comparison there, for me Citizen wins hands down) and small seconds, I prefer the case design of the Citizen. Particularly, the larger size of the dial relative to the underlying case. Somehow this makes it look more refined than the PRX, which admittedly has more of a 70s vibe (not my favorite era for watches).

I have the original Tsuyosa in Tiffany blue and really like it. The 3 things I don't like about it is the limited power reserve, the rather large spaces in between the links on the bracelet, and the difficulty using the small crown that's flush against the case. Considering I paid just under $300, I can't complain. This updated Tsuyosa has a much nicer looking dial, a better movement, and more power reserve. The bracelet looks the same though and the price went up $200. Comparing it to the PRX, I'd have to see them side by side.

Good that u have mentioned the synthetic escapement in the Powermatic 80 23 jewels movement, lots of people dont know that. It is an important factor. Luckily, many brands like Certina or Mido are Now using only Powermatic 80, the 25 jewels version, which does not have any synthetic material. Price is of course a factor, while Tissot can offer automatic watches around 650-750EUR with the 23jewels powermatic, Certina and Mido with the 25jewels powermatic offers from 750 and above. Worth the money still imo

I prefer the aesthetics of a bracelet that doesn't taper too much, and it looks very noticeable on an integrated bracelet. No experience of the Miyota movements yet but I have a 9 series on the way.

Yes, I own two PRX autos and just ordered the Maen Manhattan 39mm size in garnet. The Manhattan in 39mm was something I was waiting for and when it was announced, I ordered the very same day.

PRX 35mm quartz with a DeLugs FKM rubber strap option and you’ve got a more authentic package with a little change - and one of the best wearing watches you can own

Both of these look great but I feel the real PRX crusher was made by micro brand named Jack Turner. The design looks better and they offer way more for the money.

I have 2 Tsuyosa's and 3 PRXs. Trust me, PRX is way better than the Tsuyosa. Don't get we wrong, i love them both, that's why i bought them, but the PRX is better

I've maintained that it would behoove, Bulova, Citizen and Casio to get into mechanical watches, and now the first two have. They've always had good quality, reasonable pricing, and nice designs. Why not jump into the mechanical realm so those of us who have no truck with quartz have some options?

Crown position on PRX is always going to make it the winner for me. I'm just a bit ocd that way.🙂

I think the Citizen looks great but the Tissot has the edge in the eye of the public if for no other reason than that more common folk have heard of Citizen than Tissot so Tissot gets a boost unearned for sounding more luxury.

@@codys5727for the same reason you buy Toyotas. The “brand heritage” is for reliability. And it’s true, they are very reliable. Other cars are reliable too but on average Toyota is the Most reliable. i.E. brand heritage is created. It’s simple man, simple

WIth all due respect, the awkward position of the crown at the Citizen already puts me off. The lack of a date function and only half the power reserve of the PRX makes the latter one clearly the winner in my eyes.
