Citroen AX rally build - have you ever seen the rain??

I'm deciding now between R50 vs R53 as my first track car. R53 has the whine and is a little faster but 1) it's harder to find, 2) it costs way more, 3) it's a bit more complicated and heavier. Also R53 may be getting hotter on track days and the engine will be clipping. So it will be a constant battle with overheating. So... isn't R50 a better choice for this purpose considering that it must be cheaper to maintain though it has less horse power (but weighs less)? And revving R50 to 7000 is almost as much appealing as R53's supercharger whine. You have experience with both cars so it' would be great to hear your opinion. Thanks!
