The Citroen C3 Aircross is a funky small SUV that competes with the Mazda CX-3 and Skoda Karoq. The French crossover has a distinctive look and cool interior, plus a cheerful turbo three-cylinder. But is this the right SUV to buy for town duties? Tom drives the C3 Aircross in top-spec form to find out.

I've just bought a citreon c3 2019 I absolutely love it makes me feel better and younger I'm 52yrs and disabled and needed a reliable car with safety features I will be getting beeps for front of car.

Just today I drove in my parents Aircross 110HP automatic. It drives like a 2L without turbo and the transmission is absolutely fantastic. They got the SHINE spec that does have USB in the back. My parents come from a C5 to this car.

Oversteer when pushing on? Sounds like fun to me, ha! Always had a soft spot for Citroens, I thought the gen1 C4 Cactus was an excellent little city car especially its ride quality and comfort.

Love this - definite first choice over CX3 or Honda HRV or Toyota CHR purely for dynamics - these aren’t meant to be firm riding sports cars - comfort first with plenty of style with modern drivetrain :)

Today 27th April 2019 my one has been in the dealers for over two weeks, went in for a recall check on the airbag wiring , they said it would be a one hour job, picked up car and noticed the airbag warning light was on, so it went back in and they have had to strip the wiring loom out of the dash. It’s seems Citroen are not being very cooperative, the dealer is Arnold Clark in Aberdeen, they have given up the Citroen dealership due to Citroen’s silly demands ,so I would not recommend them .

Interesting looking car, Citroen do quirky well. Just feel the interior is a little underdone and the materials just look cheap.

Agreed on all fronts there. Interestingly, 20 examples of a Launch Edition car are available with a lighter coloured interior and some soft touch materials on the dash. That should be standard!

the interior on these look bad but the c5 aircross looks way better this is basically their older interior design

All good until the dashboard lights up with all sorts of problems with airbag and other electronics. I gave up on French cars.

Citroen or other French cars are all rubbish. If you have cash to waste then by all mean go for this stupid car. So if you are a sensible driver go for German if you have a bit more cash other wise go for Japanese or Korean. They are far more super and reliable.

Reliability doesn’t seem to be a major issue in PSA’s post-GFC cars, and there are some very good current French cars - see the new 3008 and 5008. I’m just not as sure the value argument is there in this particular vehicle.
