Citroen C4 grand picasso brake replacement.
In this video I detail how to replace the front brakes on a Citroen C4. I hope this helps.
Hello everyone interested enough in this channel to visit here.
I'm just a single Dad whose son wanted his own RU-vid channel to try and make some money because, quite frankly, we're pretty poor. Sadface.
But we're really happy together and I'd do anything for him, including making all sorts of random videos to upload to RU-vid.
As such there's going to be games, reviews of various things and, as I generally can't afford to pay to get things fixed, anything I'm repairing that I can video I'll also upload.

Thank you for your tutorial! It worked good for me. My Grand C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi had E16 instead of E18 sockets, but everyth ing else was fine. :)

Je pense que les boulons qui maintiennent le support d'étrier de frein sont des E16 mais pas E18. Merci de me le confirmer.

Didn't know how to message you privately but did the aircon clutch,the maxgear one is a good fit,but it's definitely worth getting a decent set of circlip pliers,I cheaper out and cost me about 30 minutes trying to get the bloody thing on, but the job is definitely achievable by the average diy mechanic

That's good to hear. I like the way you say 'good' pair of circlip pliers. I have bought plenty of bad ones and ended up grinding the tips to get them to hold a circlip. I should put it in the description but I can be mailed on channel1diagnostics@gmail.com

Very instructional video. I have always smeared copper grease on the backplate of the new pads to prevent squeal, is that still recommended or does the improved design of modern calipers not need this? Thanks.

I used to as well but neither this car or the Honda Jazz I did, and haven't uploaded a video of yet, had any signs of it. But strangely while the C4 brakes are fine the Jazz was squeaking initially. 🤷‍♂️

The overall process will be the same, but some of the tool sizes I expect to be different. They were even different on a newer C4.

A good video was going to ask what size allen key but you did say 😂good job i looked back

The Allen key is 7mm. I would definitely buy a good one, or a 7mm Allen key socket for on a ratchet. It's not a location you want to be rounding off the bolt head that for sure 😬

Was about to do the change on my DS4... I don't have a 7mm anywhere in my tool box 😩😩

@@hywelthomas21 Don't be disheartened. I was expecting 14mm hex head bolts to hold my caliper bracket on but found the torx bolts instead. So take a look first as you may the model change between the C4 and DS4 has brought about different parts anyway. I'd expect the process to be broadly the same though.
