The XU7J4 is deliberately choked, it also has very restrictive cylinder head ports, valve springs and cams. And the Sagem ECU can not be adjusted. With very simple mods 150-160hp is possible from the XU7J4

Thanks for your contribution ... Therefore it is better if the Bosch control unit is installed ... What are your recommendations on the subject of performance ..... which components would you use ....

@@CitroenXantia XU10J4RS cams, intake and exhaust manifolds. But 1.8 valve springs are soft so you would need to upgrade these if you use those cams. I think Mi16 springs are better but I don't know if they fit. The XU10J4RS has double valve springs and these don't fit the XU7J4 or XU10J4R without extra machining. Port the cylinder head by hand with 3 angle valve seats. You don't need to make perfect, just match port to manifolds. And clean up the throats. If you see the remove the valves from the XU7J4 head you will see how restrictive it is. The 1.8 cylinder head has a lot of potential. Bosch ECU is superior and people have tuned these. Also you can use XU10J4RS Marelli ECU, wiring harness, and cylinder head. This ECU is quite good and can self adjust a little bit. If you don't replace the Sagem ECU any modifications can destroy your engine with overfuelling, or at least destroy catalytic converters very quickly.

@@lutherblissett9070 hello, I was reading your comment, since I feel interested on these modifications, but I have one doubt. Isn't the XU7JP4 a 1.6 engine? Then what is the 1.8 parts you are mentioning? Or do the 1.8 and 1.6 share the same parts? Maybe I didn't understand well the comment; if you can reply so I can understand, I'd really appreciate, since I'd love to do those mods so my engine feels and responses better.

Hammer Video!!!!!!!!!! Vielen Dank.

When changing the manifold and throttle body should i use the xu10 sensors, keep the xu7 or they are the same? Also the O-rings in the engine side of the manifold are diferent, woundt there be any fitment problem?
@CitroenXantia
@CitroenXantia 2 года назад
Hi. The sensors must be taken over if necessary & the sensors must also be adapted. The gasket on the cylinder head needs to be enlarged unless you take the gasket from the RS........The port on the intake manifold on the RS is about 1-1.5mm larger which means you have to make the port on the XU10 cylinder head larger otherwise the air will bounce against this edge. And it depends on which vehicle the XU 10 is installed in... it doesn't fit in the xantia because the hydraulic pump is too big.

Hey. I don't fully understand, the throttle body from the 2.0 16v fits directly to the XU7JP4 intake manifold and it would increase the airflow? Did I get that right? Thanks in advance, great video.
@CitroenXantia
@CitroenXantia 2 года назад
Exactly ...... You can take the throttle valve from the 2.0i 16V or the one from the 2.0i (121 PS). Both match to the intake manifold. However, the throttle valve of the 2.0i is larger than that of the 2.0i16V ....... you will find the dimensions in the video from the minute 5:20 .... and yes this increases the airflow, especially at full load and high rotations

what about the s16 manifold with the acav system? would it be any good in the xu7jp4?
@CitroenXantia
@CitroenXantia 2 года назад
So the first problem is that the intake manifold in the Xantia does not fit ....... The hydraulic pump is too big and there is not enough space. For all others (306, 406, Xsara) it should fit. But there is still a problem........The entrance to the cylinder head is too small........The RS. Intake bridge has a larger diameter. In addition, the RS intake manifold only works with the RS intake camshaft. Then the throttle is much too big ...... you have to adapt a smaller throttle. The intake manifold from the XU10J4R is the better choice.....it fits 100%

I've seen a picture of a build like this ... But I don't see the point, if I know correctly, you can change the height of the car easily, and I don't see the point of making it firmer if you have the activa system, it won't roll, so ...

could i put a xu10j4rs intake manifold to a xu10j4r?
@CitroenXantia
@CitroenXantia 2 года назад
Hello. That doesn't fit because the connection from the intake manifold on the cylinder head is about 1.5mm larger.........but the screw connections are identical. And it depends on which vehicle the XU10J4R is installed in. The intake manifold in the Xantia does not fit because the hydraulic pump interferes with it

@@CitroenXantia Hello. Thanks for answering. Mine is the 306 xsi 2.0 16v and I think it is very similar, so it would be impossible? It called my attention a lot since I think it would be good to enhance it with the exhaust manifold also from the XU10J4RS, a part that I suppose would not fit either, right?
@CitroenXantia
@CitroenXantia 2 года назад
Then the intake manifold fits......the servo pump is significantly smaller than the hydraulic pump of the xantias......the exhaust manifold definitely fits the peugeot but doesn't bring any power........take the camshafts from the rs + Manifold and the intake manifold and then adapt the software.....if you don't want to do that, just swap the camshafts and install the throttle valve from XU10j4 (2.0 8V) that brings performance even with the original software......
