Laura you are so pleasant to watch..your recipes are awesome, they make me think out of the box of everyday, boring meals. Thanks for the time you take to do this!
I made this yesterday. DELICIOUS! Laura, you're my favourite! for the past few months, I've been making only your recipes, and i love it. I recommend you to my friends, every time they ask me a recipe, i give them your channel. :)
by using brown sugar, you practically changed the recipe drastically! Brown sugar has molasses in it so not only is the texture totally different that regular sugar, but obviously has a different flavor as well. The brown sugar has a very deep flavor and i'm not surprised that it took over the whole tart and you couldn't taste the citrus.
Just obsessed with Laura Vitale's cooking shows so awesome!!and she's a great baker and a cook hope she was my chef...I am not so happy with my cooks LOL but she''s a great cook overall,,love watching her
Just made it today , but I used half lemon and orange because they were too big . I made the crust by digestive biscuits instead of the pie crust. It turn put great ! my family enjoyed it ! Great recipe Laura ! thankss
OMG Laura answered a question of mine. How awesome! Okay, I'm done being a dork. Thanks so much. By the way, I've tried some of your recipes lately (i.e. vanilla cupcakes with raspberry butter cream frosting, meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo) and so far everything's been great. I will be making your blueberry muffins tonight. I'm sure they will be great, too. Your videos are great and again, thank you so much.
Reasons why I love Laura Vitale 1-She really Loves food like I do 2-I can watch her anytime anywhere throw RU-vid worldwide 3-She is a Nigella Lawson fan
Try it again. My blind baking went horribly wrong (my theory maintains: my hoven hates me). But the custard... Oh my god! It's so good! And the texture is amazing! Thank you for the recipe Laura. :)
I just did it. I love the orange and lemon flavor to it. But i felt like it was little too much sugar. If you are not a sugar lover like me you might want to put about 3/4 (or even less if you have sweet oranges) of what is suggested in the initial recipe. For the rest the recipe is great and I totally recommend it for a fresh sunday desert :)
i did, i made her banana chocolate chip muffins, and vanilla cupcakes with frosting, and now getting ready to bake m&m cookies and for sunday im going to make fudgy brownies. :)
This recipe seems like we could adjust it for a low carb treat as well. Not sure about using one of those sweeteners like splenda or stevia but maybe we could use some kind of almond crust and use less sugar? This looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
I've tried this recipe and mine turned out beautifully as far as flavor goes. The appearance....eehhh, but that was probably because I used half and half instead of heavy cream since it was what I had on hand.I sprinkled powdered sugar on it and called it a day. I was DELICIOUS! I wonder if the brown sugar is what messed urs up? Or maybe if your lemon was too small or under ripe and didn't have enough lemon juice? I did use 2 lemons because the first one I juiced didn't have much juice at all.
Hi Laura! In such a big fan! Last December I asked for an Autograph on your blog site and I never got it :(. I was so sad :(. But I'm still going to be such a huge fan!
Hi! so... I was thinking about do it today, but.... isn't too much heavy cream (can I substitute it for home milk) ? and how it could taste if I put some icing sugar instead of granulated ? Thanks Laura, I looove your recipies ! :)
I made it and it was delicious (actually the first time I don't mess a tart up). So I'm wondering if I could use the same recipe and make a raspberry one? Puree the raspberries instead of the juices of the citrus fruits, do you think that would work?
pecan pie is a little too rich to make at this time of year. It's more of a autumn and winter dessert in my opinion so i'm not sure i will be making that in the spring and summer season.
Laura! I love you so much! thank you for teaching me all this recipes! i'm 20 and i cook better than my mon THANKS TO YOU! hahaha, I really don't know how to thank you for all your recipes and tips you are amazing!
Hi, I have made so many of your recipes and they are amazing. Can you advise on how to make this recipe into mini tarts. My question is how much less baking time would I blind bake the crust and what would the time difference be for after I put in the filling?
Wanting to make this for my son. Can I use this recipe to make mini tarts and if so how long should they be baked for? Also how long will they last, how should I store them and can they be frozen
Hello Laura :) I saw your "Mac and Cheese" video and I fell in love with you and your cooking, I was wondering if you know how to cook the traditional portuguese dish : Duck Rice. It's delicious and i would love to see you making a video on it. Love, Sam xxx
that may have happened because of the brown sugar. brown sugar add caramelization and something call melasity (idk how to spell it), so maybe thats the color and taste was different, you might wanna try in again with only white sugar! Please let me know if this helped! :D :)
my point is not about the beans being cooked, but the fact that, laura says keep it for use next time round.. which im curious because if it is cooked, how do you keep it for next time?!
For everyone who likes a deep citrus flavour like me i recommend doubling the amount of lemon and orange :) because when i tried it the texture was nice and creamy but i couldn't taste the tartness in general!
HI Laura, I love to watch your videos, but 1 question, how do you manage to stay so fit? :) BDW: I'm waiting for my cinnamon rolls to finish, can't wait :) Thank you for all the goodies you are making!
laura can u please please make arancini (rice balls) with and without meat? thats my FAVORITE italian dish and my mom refuses to try and make it. please 'thumbs up' so she can see this!
I have tried most of Laura's recipes and they have all turned out gr8!So thanks Laura :-) But I am going to be honest here. This is one dish I really couldn't eat.I followed all her instructions. And it turned out exactly like hers. But the sugar and citrus mixture (without any flour) well the flavour doesn't work(at least for me)
they are dried. i don't know the science in that but it works. i have a jar of soy beans as pie weights and i have used them for many times and nothing goes wrong. maybe the book On Food and Cooking has the answer.
