Truth be told, you can actually carry more people and cargo in these Sedans and they ride much better on most roads and don't roll around as much. And perform much better, give better economy (less drag, low weight). People are going in the wrong direction with crossovers.

i have test driven city, vento and rapid and i found vento/ rapid with a better engine, steering feel, planted on corners, less body roll, better suspension and were more thrilling to drive.
We have a 7 year old Vento, the drive quality and build quality are amazing. Feels so strong, and drives like a true German car. It’s a shame they don’t improve the design or electronic features... or nothing would stop it from being number ☝️ one

Nah. An enthusiast would just go for a higher revving 4 cylinder VTEC motor with a manual and put better tires, brakes and a good set of shocks or even coilovers. Now that's a proper car. Although none of these cars are really enthusiasts cars by any sense of the word.

Cancelled my booking for verna when i tried City, major reason is the space and comfort it offers, its the best car for the family tbh! Getting my delivery in couple of days, really excited :).
Great the verna is not a good car at all to my taste, I think City is currently best( space , looks , reliability, services , performance all good) and then the Skoda or vw for best driving feel but old looks really kill it, for me i would prefer the city but I have a few doubts , is it as good as it's older generation cause many owners complain about it being not as good as old City in terms of performance and insulation?
Ciaz - As said in the review.. Big Spacious n Easy Going.. if that's not enough then it has the most sensible Pricing.. and along with widest service network at best rates.. it's definitely the most sensible choice especially for utilising ones hard earned money and rightly claimed to be a peaceful choice rather than an emotional choice.. Yes, the addition of ventilated seats would neatly round up the city. Hopefully in a couple of years they bring in a facelift with the ventilated seats and a better screen.
What a way to end 2020. Been a Honda city owner from 2016 and it still never fails to put a smile whenever I drive. ❤️❤️. Honorable mentions for the Skoda and Volkswagen. Hope the facelifts of these two cousins will stir up the segment again.
I put all my bet on City before starting this video, and you guys didn't disappoint. Took my Amaze to service, happened to check on this big City and woww..my first impression was it's set against likes of Corolla, Elantra etc.
Other magazines : Get the cars but with any variant that is available for the test and compare them. Autocarindia: Gets the cars of the same variant, power train and gearbox and compare then to give an even fair play and ground, no wonder they are the best.
Booked Rapid Style Automatic expected in n 2 weeks time. Automatic gets ESP and Hill descend control too. None of the other top variants comes under 16 Lakhs

I will probably go for the Skoda rapid. As it's name suggests, it's fast, engaging and has got its own swag. May be the least bothered of the locker room, but still old is gold. It is the oldest, cheapest, fastest and the best😉
When it comes to petrol..I will prefer Honda City because of vtec! When it comes to diesel..I will prefer Verna! But when it comes to pricing..maruti Suzuki ciaz just nailed it!!💝
Skoda Rapid anyday..... Personally having the Monte Carlo white edition.... And trust me it's hell of a beast I've drove everyone of these but the performance was the best in Rapid I'll highly recommend it to everyone

Proud owner of polo for 8 years and Vento 1.5 tdi for 3 years. If you drive and enjoy driving, not having a chauffeur, VW cousins will be the ideal for true driving enthusiasts(leaving infotainment, bells and whistles etc) .The handling and maneuverability👌. Whenever the day goes tough I ll have a drive and be back fresh. PS. Driven Chennai to goa, twice, engine non stop with chai break. Maza😊
Drive Rapid or Vento...and you will feel the difference....can overtake like a king....solid body...steering feels confidence...what else one wants....
But i don't think it will retain its position in future, because not for that it's bad or anything, but our market is moving towards those crossovers like creata and seltos rapidly and sedans are losing their importance rapidly

Easy.. 1. Vento / skoda if you like to drive. But are willing to compromise with bad interiors, and understand it's the driving experience that you will buy for. 2. City if you have deep pockets and must have a sedan (and not creta/seltos/harrier). And need the extra back seat and interior quality. 3. Maruti, well if penny pinching is your style and you don't really care about safety, but rather maintenance ease and cost. 4. Hyundai... Well if you just need a car, and couldn't be bothered to see the selling points, but want a steady pick. 5. And finally Yaris. I can't think of a single selling point. Other than perhaps. A. You must have a Toyota. B. Or you made a mistake.
my take after owning the HONDA CITY ZX PETROL for almost 8 months now (hope new buyers check these things out) - firstly, you have to downshift for overtakes, its absolutely slow below 3500 rpm, and then pushing it in a lower gear significantly hits your mileage and you feel you are pushing the engine (therefore not effortless). secondly, the ride is not plush, its downright bouncy and you hear thuds on the smallest of pot holes, (which are otherwise not even considered potholes in India). Hit a slightly bigger pot hole, or drive it over a small bumper (the absolute small ones being placed on roads these days), and you will hear a horrifying sound from your wheels which will make you feel you just lost your axle. The tyre size is too small for the car and the ground clearance is not accustomed to Indian road conditions at all, the suspension is a gimmick. Oh! and the electronics, they are not glitch free.
One major testing area should also be consider about the night driving comfort. Which car is the most easy or best to drive in night. No one has to time drive these cars in day time anymore thanks to WFH. We should start considering the new normal of having fun with the family members out on these cars after day light.
@Autocar India- With due respect, i failed to understand how can we can compare a sedan ( All new 5th gen city) which starts from 13L and ends somewhere around more than 17L (Even though base model is decently equipped).All others cars starts from 9.5L and ends at 12.5 to 13L at max including honda city 4th gen.In my point of view 5th gen city is one class higher in terms of equipments and features for which it absorbs a whole 2.5 to 3L more.Its not a entry level mid size sedan like others.Its somewhere inbetween midsize entry level and premium sedan class like octavia,elantra etc. 5th gen city cannot be compared with entry level midsize sedans.If compared obviously it will be the winner.
Finally the most expected Comparison is out. Have been waiting for this for more than a year. Thanks to AutoCar India to provide this video. Really enjoyed watching this. Pls do provide more Comparison videos of SUV and Hatchback too. My pick is Vento coz I love it's Build Quality, Safety, Performance still it's dated. But it's gonna change when they launch the next Facelift maybe next year. That's when the real war begins...
Verna is the winner. Honda City is little too costly. For a family of 4 , verna SX Petrol is the best buy. Rich interiors, good service network and exceptional design is perfect package. PS: i hve booked verna and waiting for delivery.
As for me vento is the way to go. It has everything you'd ever use on a daily basis. Push button start is for oldies. If you're a real car enthusiast you would love turning the key and feeling the engine start.

Rapid and Vento are the only 2 cars which looks like and actual sedan and both have an fun engine to drive and also gives a good range the only negative which I found in those sedans are service costs. The king (Honda City obv) actually has no negatives except for ground clearance but who cares, sedans are not meant for that and yes iVtec kicked in yo too. Verna is also feature packed but lacks rear space is a disappointment. The yaaris has the best ground clearance, the best reliability, ambient light and Toyota Qservice disadvantages are it's look. Ciaz if u a want a MS as I didn't find a reason to buy it it might have most boot and rear space it lacks on under thigh support which equally important as leg room and biggest miss build quality
I could comment this because that day I was in VW Vento and my friend who's amazing driver with great presence of mind avoided a great mishap, everyone including car were scratch less.
