Civ 5 AI Only Timelapse: Between Two Worlds

A massive ridge with five guardians separates 12 civilizations that will be isolated from each other for centuries. Will they be able to break the ancient wall and meet each other for cultural sharing and mutual destruction, and, meanwhile, will mountain guardians just sit and wait for their end or maybe they will visit the valleys by themselves to tell about amazing properties of mountain air?
For this battle, I used Community Patch steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... and also test 2k terrain texture forums.civfanatics.com/thread...
Music: Ansia Orchestra - Helden Sterben Nicht, Percival - Cloak and Dagger, Jens Kiilstofte - Cloister of Redemption

I found myself commentating this in my head as I watched it. "The Zulu losing their capital early, but you never can count them out if they can get their Impi." "Mongolia and Russia underperforming this game." "America, in a surprise manuver, taking Addis Ababa from Babylon, but the city won't have time to heal before England takes it." Great battle overall.

@reoden7546
@reoden7546 6 лет назад
This is really interesting. Those tundra starts with the loaded hills actually look really strong. I like the map in general--it's interesting to see who may go for an early expansion, who may go for an early war, or both. lol I have written something of a *History of the World* for this scenario: Persia started off very aggressively with an expansion *and* early wars, dominating both Austria and the Mongols, but then are stalled as they go to war with seemingly their whole hemisphere simultaneously. Shaka surprisingly gets manhandled early on by France. Germany, avoiding a reenactment battle with America, instead walks literally across the world to attack France. But since this is an alternate reality History, France actually put up a fight this time! ;) Oh oh--England looks ready to offer some trade agreements as she gets Longbows when nobody else has access to crossbows. Poland is also looking pretty after conquering Athens. Gunpower erupts onto the world as Persia, Germany, America, France, and Babylon all field Musketmen. Persia begins losing the war with England despite having Muskets--those Longbows are not to be underestimated. Blink and you'll miss it! The once-mighty Persian Empire has all but disappeared. Seems the Western Hemisphere was less volatile as France fails to take over Egypt, largely thanks to Poland's aid. Meanwhile Germany conquers Beijing, becoming the -second- third empire to start on the outskirts and cross the center mountain pass. Evidently Persia had been focused on Beijing while the war with England was starting up, then their armies were summarily destroyed by England and their empire was torn to shreds as England, Arabia, and Germany all swept in to claim their spoils. Persia is no more as England establishes a fearsome Empire. To the surprise of no one ever, Germany is making moves on Poland. Despite its massive and powerful army, Babylon is failing to navigate the terrain in what seems a clumsy attempt to take over Ethiopia that has spanned generations. It seems Washington fell asleep and America loses Orleans to Shaka's medieval army essentially without contest, despite having access to Minutemen. Ah, further research reveals Poland had bullied America as they also held off Germany and thus Shaka snuck in and caught the Americans unawares. The Mongols briefly remind the world they exist, taking Persepolis from England momentarily before England recaptures it. Meanwhile England, Arabia and Morocco war endlessly with no clear victor yet in sight. As the wonderful Witcher music starts, France gives up its efforts to conquer Egypt and instead reclaims their ancestral city of Orleans. After centuries of war, or perhaps more accurately centuries of aggressive mountain sight-seeing, Babylon finally conquers Ethiopia and then quickly finishes off Shaka. Having a resurgence in power, France fends off America and sets its sights on the newly expanded Babylon. Further south, Washington has woken up and ravages a Polish empire weakened by war with Germany. Germany marches a large army to once again attack France but it is quickly struck down. This does give Babylon a moment of respite, and they now have Riflemen! Germany begins to deploy Riflemen as well. Is this the beginning of the end for the Fleur-de-Lis? Surprisingly, it would appear not. Germany gets distracting attacking Poland. Typical. And despite the technological disadvantage, France holds strong against Babylon and begins to deploy Riflemen of their own. Back in the Eastern Hemisphere's all-out battle royale, England finally makes some progress and captures St. Petersburg. And now they too join the Rifleman party. Despite its setback against England, Russia manages to eliminate Morocco with the aid of Arabia. But things look grim for those who might refuse a trade agreement with England. In a surprising move, England engages in war with Babylon instead of concluding their business with Arabia. Can't let the Tech leader get too far ahead, I suppose. After some heavy army casualties on both sides with no territorial exchange, the war between England and Babylon simmers down. England refocuses its efforts on Arabia and captures Vienna. Germany continues fighting on too many fronts--as usual--making attempts against France and Poland--as usual. And America finally ends all that silly business being allied to Germany and goes to war with them instead. Warfare continues across the world with little in the way of territorial exchanges. Armies begin to modernize as Flight is discovered, and Germany takes the lead in the aerial front as well as on the ground with Great War Infantry. England also begins developing an air force. Hopes of reenacting the Allies versus Germany dwindle as America and France begin warring once more. England, however, is in the right spirit as they stomp out the Mongols and then set their sights on German-controlled Beijing. The skies become crowded as Arabia, Russia, and France all begin air fighter production. Great War Infantry and Artillery are becoming the norm in the theater of war. Beijing falls to the British as France finally fulfill their dream of conquering Egypt. America gets back into character, fighting Germany alongside England as they roleplay WW1. Mecca valiantly holds off a fearsome British attack as Hamburg is ceded in a peace treaty to the ever expanding British Empire. Germany apparently stations an otherwise useless Settler near Hamburg as a symbol for waving the white flag--it seems the German tanks arrive too late. Not sufficiently entertained by their war with France, Babylon marches on York but their forces are held off and destroyed. Washington apparently idolizes Teddy Rosevelt and makes a ton of Cavalry. He also sneaks in and captures a Babylonian city besieged by the British air force. England's trade agreements become even more menacing as Rocket Artillery take the field. She makes Arabia an offer he cannot refuse and Mecca resists no more. Poland is apparently somehow still alive--enjoying Peace and devoting their time to Archaeology and Religion. England is apparently upset America ninja'd that Babylonian city and wants to have a word with Washinton about a certain tea party she was not invited to. Germany makes an attempt to reclaim Hamburg, but to no avail. Krakow and Addis Ababa fall almost simultaneously as England's forceful trade agreements continue to reign supreme. At this point it seems none may be able to resist Elizabeth's negotiation skills for much longer. Warsaw falls as the Americans continue to lose ground to England and the British Empire becomes the first to stretch from one end of the world to the other. For the first time in forever, Peace falls on the world. But America and Germany cannot just let it go. As Berlin is falling, Washington builds a snowman--on Bismarck's grave. Across the world, English forces make quick work of the Russians. Peace reigns once more. The Peace is shattered as England drops the world's first Nuclear bomb on Poland, and quickly captures the final Polish city. Relations worldwide become uneasy as it becomes evident the unstoppable British Empire's thirst for Conquest has not yet been sated. Tensions rise as British troops gather near the American border once again. The war is over nearly as quickly as it had begun. One American city falls after the other and Washington is no more. England is not yet satisfied. Babylon is next to be asked, "Would you be interested in a trade agreement with England?" First they came for the Persians. Then they came for the Germans. Then they came for the Americans. Now they come for France. And France stands alone. Like a tiger lying in ambush, the English troops assemble. The French gazelle nervously looks around, perhaps unaware of the danger. Thebes is the first to fall. Umgungundlovu falls qucikly after. Then Orleans and Ulundi. Only Paris remains as the nuclear ash settles near Orleans and Paris itself. The English troops mount a final assault and the final trade agreement is brokered. England Reigns Supreme. God save the Queen!

The English had a case of "Right place, right time." • Began with less competitors than the ones on the sides of the map • Focused on expanding manpower at the beginning • Caught Persia at war with the Germans, Arabians, and Russians meanwhile they had deployed their special Longbowmen (brilliant move) • Minimized expansion to the west to decrease the possibility of war on both fronts, exploiting the defensive chokepoint of their capital
