7 years later and still helping us Honda tards out, bless you 😂 just got a pretty clean 99 EX Coupe for cheap, and needed this peace of mind. Thanks buddy!
Thanks man. I appreciate the video. Also on a side note, now having lived in Georgia a couple years I got super excited as a native Oregonian to see the Oregon plates on your car. It was a nice breath from back home!
Thanks for this! I just bought one of craigslist and was wondering how to lift it then put the jacks on the re-inforced corners. Didn't know of the centerline front and rear sections. Great easy video!
Thanks buddy! At last somebody actually showed the jack points. I've been trying to know where to lift the front of my 98 honda civic, Thanks for taking a camera and showing where the jack points are, take care buddy.
I really wished Honda made that front end lift point more centered. Each time I lift my Civic the driver size is always lifting 1.5-2 inches higher than the passenger side which is annoying.
Problem is is when you jack up from the front where it's a little bit off center it lifts one side of the car more than the other so you can get a jack stand under the right side because it's more centered to the right but the left side is not near as high
In my opinion this car doesn't have a central jack point and that point at the front is for the convenience of doing things like timing belts and oil changes. I'm going to use that point to get a stand under the left side and then jack the right from what looks like a jack point further back which he didn't show in this video.
I worked on a 2000 Civic Si yesterday and the front jacking point caved into the radiator, which then bent up the hood latch area of the frame a little bit. I'm so disappointed because now I have to take the car to a body shop and I'm so broke, I don't even know how much they're going to charge me. The bumper can barely line up because the grill can't fit all the way over the top by the hood latch, and the hood won't line up with the fenders since the hood latch itself, got raised up with that area of the frame. Anyone help?! I know a few others have had the front jacking point cave in because it was defective.
@@trejones9580 Dude, I literally ended up stomping out the top frame area of the radiator and pretty much used a rubber mallet around the rest of the body in front as much as possible. That thing sucked ass.
I just bought a pair of 3T Jack Stands & a 3T Hydraulic Jack. When I lift the car using the front metal lift point, the car can't go high enough to place the jack stands on the side lift points. What are my options?
Awesome video. But I notice when I jack my 97 civic from the front my car tends to lean alittle on the left side to where I can’t get a jack stand on that side. Is it because the jack point is off centered?
@@boostedcoupe797 Some jacks will pull or push the car as you jack them up. You might be able to use that to help, by trying different angles. Also, for got to ask if you have a stock engine. If not, the weight might be a little off center. I like these kind of jacks: amzn.to/3Sh5LaT
