That’s something I wonder as well. I assume he still had some feelings for Claire and didn’t want to loose Brianna.

I'm not a fan of Frank. But, in fairness to him, he was a gentleman who didn't want Claire to live as a single mother. He was unable to have his own child and desperately wanted Brianna. He still loved Claire, at the beginning and hoped she would eventually forget Jamie (impossible I know 😢). But I think his original intentions were honourable. It wasn't until later, when it was obvious Claire would never forget the love of her life, that he began to have affairs. 🤷

She had offered divorce to him and he didn’t want that. I don’t think she is self centered and clueless at all. He could have just accepted the offer .

She offered divorce. It was Frank that was holding on to a love that no longer existed. It was a one sided marriage. But he put himself in that situation. All because he couldn’t let Claire go..
